I saw on another thread that the CL lounge at BC will be undergoing a renovation soon to expand it? I haven't seen this anywhere else, and I thought all renovations were completed at BC last year, which didn't include the lounge.

I ask because my girlfriend and I will be there next month and I was wondering if the lounge would be in a state of chaos, lol!

It's down now. It could not be completed at the time of rehab last year since all the new items had not arrived. It is scheduled to be done the beginning of September. It is being enlarged.

Thanks guys for the advice to call. After I typed my question to Teena I found the phone number on the one email that they had replied to and called. Spoke with a very helpful CM for almost 30 minutes. I'll be getting my ADRs together soon and calling them since August 24 is my 90 day mark.

TeenaS,

I apologize for another question for you. We check in for a 2 night room only stay at the Beach Club on 8/21. We've paid for more than half of it (we paid for one night up front and then a discount came out so that makes the other half less) and I was told by a CM that we can just pay the rest upon arrival, is that correct. I thought someone told me it must be paid off 7 days prior to arrival.

Thanks for any help!

Most of the time reservations are paid in full in advance. It depends on the type of reservation you have ... there are a few reservations that only have to have one night paid. I'd call again and double check that you don't have to pay in full ... I'd really hate to see your reservation cancelled. Or just call and give them your credit card and tell them to take payment now to be on the safe side. That's what I'd probably do ... I'm such a worry wart.

The rooms finally opened up and I booked our next trip last Friday. Yea!!!!!!

DH and I stayed at the GF last January and I don't think that I could have ever imagined the awful time we had. Not only was the weather just down right freezing for all but two days, but DH came down with the full blown flu two days into the trip. We had been planning this trip for 9 years to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and his 53rd birthday. The night that we had reservations at V&A's all I can remember was how he was really trying to suck it up and try night to ruin the dinner. He was soooo miserable.

Anyway, the last night of our trip, we decided to walk over to the YC from Epcot because we had dinner reservations and boy oh boy were we impressed. After wandering around the lobby, we just looked at each other and said "This is definitely more our style." Not only is it perfectly located between our two favorite parks but it is so calming. Right then and there we decided that we would try this trip again only at the YC and just a little bit later in the year.

We have booked CL so I am sure that I will have many questions over the next several months.

Thank goodness for this thread!

Morning All, Teena how is your husband feeling?

He had a really rough night. Thought about taking him to the hospital. He's 70 and although he thinks he's 17 and acts 17 most of the time, I was getting scared. This morning he says he feels a tad better and the congestion seems to be more loose and this throat is a little less sore. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. And so far, I'm feeling none of those symptoms so I'm still a go for flying out to Jeanne's on Tuesday. Thanks so much for asking!!

Teena,

We are doing a CSR/YC split trip so we will miss you on 8/23-8/29. After all your advice on this thread I was hoping to meet you.

Good luck to your husband.

I haven't posted on here yet but have spent a lot of time reading. We are going to be ending our trip with a stay at the Yacht Club CL in September. I am so excited! I have wanted to stay at an Epcot resort and with the code we got we are able to!
My only concern is that we have a Garden View room. I am worried about what view we will get. Are there any horrible views at the Club level for GV.
Thanks! I have learned so much from you guys and I can't wait to learn more.

Teena, thank you for all your help on here and I hope you husband is feeling better today!

I believe in being totally honest and I have to say that yes, there are some pretty ugly standard or garden view rooms on all the floors. If a view is really really really important, the only way to be sure you'll get a decent view is to upgrade to a waterview. The word "garden" is not a fair description. It is suppose to be "standard" and they are trying to get that fixed everywhere it shows up as "garden". The ugliest views IMO are the views of the roofs.

But will you be spending lots of time looking out the window? Think about your trip and what you will be doing. There are some people that actually sit on the balconies and sip wine and relax. Those people need to book a waterview. However, I'd have to say that most people use their rooms to sleep, change clothes, shower, etc. and they end up closing the drapes during those times. Yes, it's nice to open the drapes at night and see the lights at the Boardwalk before you fall asleep but is that worth all that extra money? Only you can decide that.

Thanks so much everybody for your good wishes for Bob's recovery. He actually seems better tonight and is acting more like himself. And he was hungry for dinner!!

And I'm not experiencing any of the symptoms yet so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!!

Hi. Just returned from one week at the YC. It was an A to Z great trip. I had booked a standard room but when my not-really-elderly mother checked in (several hours before my family arrived) she asked if she would be able to look out onto water. She said the check-in lady disappeared and came back saying "Yes, you will see water." So when I arrived I was floored by the gorgeous view out to the lighthouse, lake, and Boardwalk Inn from a fully refurbed spotlessly clean 4th floor room located above the lobby!

By the way, I couldn't get over how wonderful the weather was. Honestly I expected hot and muggy with a lot of rain, but we got almost no rain and it was downright pleasant weather. At night it was...cool. I can't believe I'm saying cool about a trip to Florida in August but it really was.

Special thanks to Marcus in The Marketplace who replaced my son's dropped ice cream.

Thanks YC for a great stay!

Teena, it's good to hear that Bob is doing better! It was great to see you again last week and hear about your cruise. I think you've convinced me that we need to try the Infiniti next summer for ourselves :)

Hope that you stay well and that Bob continues to improve.

With the new YC Club level promo I think I am going to add it for our trip in Oct. My question is are all Club level rooms on the 5th floor? Any certain room you like over another? I am off to read more post. Very excited about this!

All the standard (garden) view and water view CL rooms are on the fifth floor. However, there are suites on other floors and they get CL floor access.

The deals that are out there are amazing. I sort of wish I wasn't living here now and had those deals for my vacations to WDW!!!

Be warned though, most people find it hard to go back down to non-CL after they have experienced CL.

So very glad to hear that!!! I'm also excited that you didn't catch anything from him! Hope to see you in a few days. BTW, I think your idea of leaving B&C open for a CS breakfast "in the meantime" is a GREAT one! Maybe I'll talk to someone when I'm down there.
