We are checking in on the 23rd! Have fun!

I received my response from IPO with an attachment of the current menu for Club Level guests. BUT my computer won't open the attachment. And after asking for it to be sent again, it still would not open. It's not in word or adobe or anything "typical". I feel bad asking them to send it again, I'm just too darn curious to see what it says. Maybe tomorrow, I will email them and ask it to be sent a different way.

We'll be there on the 26th! I wonder if it is a menu or just a list of the times they serve the food? That's all I got, but it was a few months ago. At that time they weren't giving the actual menu. Just curious if things have changed...

It's probably just the list of hours like they gave us at check in. I don't think they print out actual menus.

It sounds like there will be lots of us there the last week of July. Hope everyone has a wonderful vacation!:goodvibes

I've been real pleased with breakfasts and other meals at the Captain's Grill. I love the lobster roll at lunch. I think the new menu items are wonderful!! As far as bad reviews, I think every restaurant must have bad days. The last two times I ate at Canada, I had tasteless steaks and bad service. So I normally don't pay too much attention to a bad review since I know you normally can get great food and service at Canada.

And isn't a quick breakfast at Beaches & Cream a wonderful addition!! Way to go management!!!

I'm sorry I'm going to miss meeting you too!!!

Great news about the Beaches and Cream breakfast! Lack of breakfast offerings was the only negative I had about the Yacht and Beach club. I don't think I am going to order from Wegoshop now. I was going to get bagels, waffles, etc.

We are checking in on the 19th!

Maggie

The breakfast (quick-service) at Beaches & Cream is apparently a test and so far I've heard nothing but great comments about it. The food and speed of getting your order seems to be good from what I'm hearing. So, if you want it to stay, you need to write letters to the General Manager at the Beach Club. Just let them know you are super excited about it, it was the one thing you thought was lacking, just tell it like you tell it here on the disboards ... that you are super excited about eating breakfast there on your visit in August, September or whenever you are coming. If you want something to stick around, Disney needs to hear from the guests that they want it and will use it.

The address for the Beach Club is:
1800 Epcot Resorts Blvd
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

In the past i thought i saw a floor plan for the YC/Bc which shows which rooms are adjoining and standard view or water view. Anybody remember this too?:confused3 I appreciate the help. DD is gradurating from high school in 2011 and were hoping to stay at the BC but will need 2 rooms that adjoining. Thanks for any help you can give.

It is not wise to request certain room numbers. For instance, if you request rooms 5712 and 5714 for check-in on 6/4/2011, the chance of those two rooms being vacated on the same day that you are checking in are slim to none. Let's say that the person in 5712 is checking out on the day you are checking in - which would be very lucky obviously, but the person in 5714 checked out one day before you check in, they can't leave 5714 open for one night, especially if the category of these rooms are sold out. Your best chance of getting adjoining rooms is just to request "adjoining rooms" (and definitely not request certain room numbers) and also to book the two rooms under the same reservation, not two separate reservations. Just remember, it is a only a request. The only way to guarantee adjoining rooms is if the second room is for all minors that can't be in a room by themselves.

Yes I read on another disney message board that it only serving breakfast for summer time, until August 8th. I definitely will write a letter to the manager. We are going to BC in December and were very excited when we heard the menu addtion.

Do they still do a character breakfast at one of the resteraunts? If so, do people staying at the resort need reservations?

Thanks for the info TeenaS can appricate the wisdom in not asking for certain numbers. I was just trying to make sure that they are adjoining rooms on the concierge floor. maybe that is what i should have asked in the first place.;)

Yes Cape May offers a breakfast buffet with goffey. while we were ther they also had minnie, chip and dale as well. We have found it is always best to make a advance dining reservation for dining however it is up to you.

TEENAS (or anyone else).

How should I word my room request? It will be our (my 10yo & I) first stay at BC. We've a standard room booked. Are higher floors better view wise? In order, I'd like a nice view, full balcony, and short walk to main pool area. We're staying for a week the end of August during "free dining".

Also, will this be a busy time for the resort?

Thanks!

This is a favorite of our family - Cape May Cafe character breakfast. Yes, I would suggest making an ADR. You may be able to get a walk up, but make an ADR just in case.

I would prioritize which of your requests is most important and list that first. If a full balcony is most important make that your first request. A higher floor will not necessarily give you a better view with a standard view, now if you have booked a water view room I would say yes ask for a higher floor.

In your case (given your prioriorities listed), my requests would be - "Crescent Lake Side", "full balcony", "close to lobby". Please keep in mind this is a lot of requests. Maybe narrow this down to your two of even your one most important and request that. Have a wonderful time!!

staying at the BC for the 1st time in September.
We are 2 adults 3 kids (wait I guess in Disney we are 4 adults 1 kid as the kids are 12 10 and 6) Are we weird to not have any room requests? Is there something we should request. we are not picky but hate to think with everyone else making requests we will be in a shed behind the building or something ;)

I don't think it's weird at all. We've gone with no requests before. Our only request at the YC was to be somewhat near the elevators, since all the walking was a bit much for my DM and I thought I would spare her any extra steps each day. Sometimes, when you don't have any requests, you end up pleasantly surprised.:)

Cape May's breakfast buffet has Goofy, Minnie and Donald. Reservations are absolutely suggested!

Normally yes it is busy in August, especially with free dining. With this economy, who knows though?

As far as your room, you booked a standard view. That means you are going to get a view of a parking lot, a roof, a tree, another building (Villas), or if you get extremely lucky a courtyard. If you want a guaranteed decent/nice view, you need to change your reservation to a water view. As HockeyMom said, you need to prioritize your requests. The chance of you getting all of your requests is not good ... think about it, everybody that books a standard view wants a nice view (and there aren't many of those) and everybody wants a full balcony (and only about half the rooms have them). So, what's the most important thing? If it's location close to the lobby (and thus close to SAB), then make your first request "close to lobby please". If the most important thing to you is to have a full balcony, then make your first request "full balcony please". If you request something like "full balcony, high floor, close to lobby", this is three requests in one and the room assignor will try to meet one of your requests but they won't know what is the most important thing to you. If it's not crowded then, you might get lucky and get all your requests met ... but if we are full, chances are it's just not going to happen. So make three requests, and put them in the order of what you really want the most. As far as what floor, if you have a standard view, I'd request the second floor since you have a good chance of not getting a roof view and a good chance of getting a full balcony. Even in the water view rooms, my personal favorite rooms are on the second floor.

I totally agree! Well said!
