Congrats on the DVC purchase - I'm a new owner too. We stayed at BC in June and are also going back in September, but to BLT. As for floats at SAB, you can bring your own, but if they are inflatable, they MUST be clear. We just brought noodles, which seemed to be exempt from the "clear" rule.

Have a wonderful visit at BCV - I hope to book it for next summer!

we are from the uk what is a noodle and does anyone have a picture, my wife is disabled and will need some form of floatation device.

I was just saying this same thing to my DH yesterday. I don't want to wish my life away but I want the trip to be here already.

Do you know if the BC CL has the same offerings as the YC. We have only stayed at the YC and this will be our first BC visit. :cool1: I am assuming they are similar. I was describing your Deluxe room with the patio to my DH and he said that he doesn't want the patio.:sad2: So I called yesterday and made the request for the full balcony. The great CM that I spoke with said that her Deluxe CL room at the BC had a full balcony. Fingers crossed. Now just waiting for January 9th to make our ADR's. Thanks, Mary Ann:flower3:

We've stayed CL at both YC and BC and found them to be very similar. In fact I was looking at the pictures TestTrackBoy posted on the YC/BC photo thread and they were mostly the same appetizers at night that we had. I especially remember the crab ragoons, bacon wrapped scallops, the potstickers and the duck quesedillas. We only made it up for the desserts twice - one night they had oreo bon bons and they also had some really cute mini desserts, and dessert shooters.

It's funny because we really had our heart set on the full balcony and yet DH ended up loving the patio! The kids loved it because they could step outside and be right at the quiet pool! I think all the BC deluxe rooms are fabulous!

Staying at BC in 3 weeks. First time since 2003. One day, we'll be going to Discovery Cove. I know, from their literature and the DIS, that wedding bands (smooth) are ok, but rings with stones aren't (ie-engagement). I remember that the BC rooms have safes, but think that there are liability limits on items placed in there. By no stretch, do we have the crown jewels. :rotfl: In fact, the only thing in question is DW's engagement ring. I thought that many hotels have a front desk safe, and that it is the only place one can secure belongings with any sort of liability guarantee, if they go missing. Does the BC have such a thing? Has anyone used it? Or, do you just trust the room safe? I'm not sure I can convince :bride: to leave it home, where it can be religiously guarded by our greyhound. You'd need a Ferrari as your getaway transport. :lmao:

I am so glad to hear that the deluxe rooms are fabulous and the appetizers sound delicious. oh I am there for those desserts. After my DH thought more about the patio now he is thinking of changing it.:upsidedow I thought I was bad. Well, we still have over 300 days left to decide.:sad1: I think the patio will be a great idea. We only have one DS13 and we invited his BFF13 to go with us. Next year they will both be 14 so I was thought it would be good to invite John this way they can roam around the resort a bit without me or my DH. John has never been to WDW do we are super excited that he is going with us.

thanks for that.

You are welcome. I hope these will work for your DW. Like I said, I can't swim and use two of these and I feel comfortable. Sometimes I will put them under my arms and float or I straddle them and sit. They work really great. I just don't go by the lazy river. It reaches up to 8 ft deep.:scared1: and for me that's a no no. My DH and DS took me in that section once and I had to get out. I like to know that my feet can touch if they have too.

On our DC day, we trusted the in-room safe for our family jewels :rotfl:... Seriously, we put my necklace and rings there for the day and they were safe and sound when we returned. DC allowed us to wear our watches in with the dolphins, so we kept those (helps to know what time it is). BTW, Discovery Cove was awesome!:cloud9:

I heard they used to have a Scavenger Hunt at the Beach Club if you ask Guest Services.
Does anyone know about this?
Do they still do this?
We were planning to visit the resort and catch breakfast at Cape May's.
I thought a Scavenger Hunt would be a great way to help the kids explore afterwards.

We are staying at YC for one night in Dec before moving to WL for the rest of the stay and have never been to YC before.

Does anyone have a quick link of the room pictures? We're in a standard room for 4 adults!

Also, has anyone taken a town car and/or taxi from MCO, about how much was the cost? We're getting in at 10pm and are not renting a car (as of now) and the rates I saw for town cars online was about $70 bucks so I didn't know if there was a cheaper rate or if we should just suck it up and stick with DME hoping YC is not the last drop off!!

TIA

For those who called to make room requests, did you call the resort directly or the main Disney number?

Almost three weeks away and getting excited!!!

Our round-trip from MCO to WDW was $140, so $70 sounds right to me. We were off the plane and checked-in to the hotel really quickly. After a long day of travel it was just nice to get to the BC quickly...

I don't have a photo to post, but I believe there were some new room photos posted a few pages back on this thread. YC is wonderful -- have a great time there!:goodvibes

Thanks!! I guess I've been spoiled living there for a year and 1/2 with a car and now that I've moved on from WDW it will seem like a huge loss without the freedom of a car from the airport at least!! but 300+ for a rental car for 4 days seems a bit crazy, even with an AAA discount so I guess unless Ddad caves for the car or a town car, we'll be using DME!!

Sorry to bother again but did the price include tax, tip, and tolls? If so, it might not be so bad, even if it was just one way. I'd be willing to pay it for a 20 min ride as opposed to possibly an hour at that time of night and less DME buses running!

The Scavenger Hunt is held by Recreation. In July and August it was held on Sunday afternoons. It will be listed on the monthly recreation guide that you get from the front desk or concierge desk. It starts and ends at SAB.

Teena- Welcome back! The boards have been relatively quiet without you! Hope Bob has fully recovered and that your daughter's new school year has started out well.

We are back from our week at the BC. We arrived at 11am 8/22 and our room was ready. We were in 2585 on the 2nd floor. I booked a standard view with no special requests. We had a full, almost double sized balacony. (We were in a corner.) The people above had a tiny balcony. I'd heard they were small, I was amazed at just how small they actually are! We also had a beautiful view of the lighthouse, Jellyrolls, Swan/Dolphin, etc. It was so peaceful and pretty. We spend alot of time here reading, drinking coffee, enjoying the view....:thumbsup2

When I checked in, he told me "2 Queen beds". Those beds were not queens, they were doubles. I have a Queen at home, so I know exactly how big a queen is. Now, it was just my dd and I so I didn't mind the doubles, however, they should not have told me they were Queens.:sad2: Even my dd said "man, these beds are small".

The size of the room was about the same (if not smaller since those resorts had actual Queens) as those we had at WL and AKL. I'd heard the BC rooms were bigger, but our's was not. We also didn't have a daybed.

We were comfortable. The resort is beautiful. The pool is beautiful. My dd did not like the slide since it was covered much of the way. We did not have long waits for the buses. Coming home on them was hard as often we didn't get seats & the BC was the 4th stop. Paying so much money to stay here and then having 5 large resorts share buses is just wrong.:sad2:

We'll be arriving at the BC a week from tomorrow! I'm SO excited! Teena, I'm looking forward to finally getting to meet you in person! Who else is going to be there? We'll be there 9/15-26! :cool1:

hi, i agree with kimberle that transportation to and from yacht/beach club to some of the parks can be slow. has anyone taken a taxi from the y/b to the m.k. or to the a.k.? how long did it take and do you remember the cost? tia

We always took a taxi to MK from the YC and it was approximately $15.00 including tip but this was back in June 2007. It took us maybe 10 minutes at the most. It seemed like within a blink of an eye we were there. It was so worth the money instead of waiting for the bus which was very slow during the time we were there.
