Looking forward to meeting you and the family. Let us know once you get it all booked.

:banana:Whew got it all sorted!! Spoke to a lovely guy whose name I couldn't quite catch but he was really nice-he'd only started his shift when I was on the phone poor guy( imagine 12minutes into your day and getting me with my accent trying to change reservations etc etc)! Anyway I booked a deluxe lagoon view room and asked not to be on first floor (*** someone somewhere mention snakes :scared1: We guys made St Patrick get rid of them centuries ago:rotfl2:) I mentioned hubby's wish for view of crescent lake and he promised to do his best. I,m chuffed to bits to get it all sorted and really excited-18weeks&3 days to go!!
Thanks again to you all.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you. I'm always envious of those that get to stay for as long as you are. Makes my trips of four days seem so short. But that's all the vacation time I can afford to use there at the MOST WONDERFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD for a year.

I always feel sooooooooooo greedy/guilty/ LUCKY getting all that time at WDW:rolleyes1

I was wondering, which characters are at the Cape May Cafe breakfast? Also, what food do they serve for breakfast?

Last week we saw Donald, Minnie, & Goofy. To be honest it was the one meal all week my DH made a stink about. The food was fine, not bad but not wonderful, and for 2 adults, 2 kids it was almost $80. Typical breakfast food was served buffet style. Eggs, mickey waffles, fruit, cereal, baked goods etc. We only did this one because it was our last morning and it was convenient. If it is your only character meal all week it would be worth it. The characters were a lot of fun.

We were there the week of Jan 22, 2010 and we saw Chip & Dale, Pluto, Goofy and Mickey at the breakfast

Before it became Donald, Minnie and Goofy, it was Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. As of today, it is still Donald, Minnie and Goofy. However, just like us, once in a while, one of them gets sick and one of their friends will come in their place.

I was there last September and it was Donald, Minnie and Goofy... is it different now?

I believe Donald, Goofy and Minnie are the standard characters for Cape May breakfast. Chip and Dale I think were around for a few months last year in the summer maybe, but were gone in the fall. It was just the three of them last April.

Of course, they can have substitutes if one of them is busy somewhere else...

I can't think of where Pluto appears...years ago he was at H&V.

Ok thanks! :goodvibes

It's one of the few character meals that has Donald! Plus it's one of our favorite breakfast buffets - how can you not love a breakfast buffet with asparagus!

Can anyone tell me about the views of the first floor rooms?
Do they all have patios? Is there room to play outside the rooms for the kids? Is there furniture on the patios?
Do any go right out to the pool or SAB? Do they go around the entire property? My kids loved being able to go outside on our patio at Poly last time. Are BC grounds as nice??? Any special requests I should make re: location
if asking for 1st floor room.

Thanks for all the help! It sounds like Cape May Cafe may be be fun and convenient because we are thinking about staying at the Beach Club. :)

Overwhelmed and not sure what sort of requests to make...can anyone help?

So, I booked three rooms for my family to visit in May. Two of the rooms will have 5 people in them and one of the rooms will have 3. My dad needs a room not to far of a walk to where he can catch transportation or grab a bite to eat (due to medical reasons) but there are also 5 in that room, the people in the other room, which is also a room of 5, don't really have any requests but want to be near everyone else, and I prefer a full balcony in my room because when the little one naps I need somewhere to go and I don't have to be right next to the others but close by would be preferred.

Any advice on what or how to meet these request? Would booking CL rooms instead be helpful? Not sure I can afford that though but would consider it if needed. I guess booking CL would help on reservations for dining. I haven't booked a single ADR because I'm not sure how to fit everyone and their schedules. I need help, aagh! :confused3 Ok...I will be at Disney and it will be FUN but all this organizing, ugh. :headache: Some one give me a hug :flower3:

If there are eight people or more over the age of 2, you should have your three rooms linked together as a magical gathering. Then you should add the group request "full balcony, close to each other and near main elevators please". Then hope for the best.

Booking CL would be a nice treat. Some people think it's worth it, some don't. If you are going to spend lots of time at the resort, I definitely think it is worth every penny. This is JMO though.

When I booked they gave me a "Grand Gathering" number and there are 13 of us over 2...is that the same thing as you mentioned? I would give up my balcony if it meant my dad could have his room request or maybe I could number his as first and mine second. I may look into CL but wasn't sure if the CL floor could handle a group as ours (I mean two rooms of 5, etc.).

ETA: Thanks for the info :)

Yep, same thing. The CL standard view rooms ... some sleep five so that shouldn't be a problem and 99% of the rooms have full balconies so that will take care of your balcony request. You could make your request "close to lounge and each other please."

You have a good chance of getting close together anyway since you are booked as a gathering.

I have another question about Cape May Cafe. We are going there for breakfast in March to celebrate both of my DDs birthdays. When I called to put the celebrations on the reservation the CM asked me if I wanted the restaurant to give the girls a treasure chest with a banner in it and a toy (of course I said yes), but I was just wondering what this looked like. So if anyone has a picture of this I would be very appreciative if you could post it for me to see. This breakfast is a surprise to my girls because this is their favorite character meal and they will be so ecstatic to have this extra special pixie dust for their birthdays. TIA.
