Hi there!! And welcome!! I was on the fence about renewing at U2.com but after just the smallest hint at some kind of ticket priority I couldn't resist. I'm sure it will probably be no more than a generic password for some ticketmaster presale but I'll take whatever I can get since I would be heartbroken to not get decent tickets! I've been against the rail right in front of the Edge the last 3 times and I don't know how I can go back to seeing them from a seat that's a gazillion miles away. :scared:

Me too! I was in the "heart" one time and OMG, it was AWESOME. I'm spoiled for sure. I'll probably end up buying in.

The new album is awesome! At first I thought it was a little to mellow but it has really grown on me and I can't stop listening to it on Myspace!! No Line on the Horizon it going to kill live!

I'm so glad you were able to get away from our relentess Twilight thread to come join in!!! :rotfl:
Not only do we have Disney, Twilight & U2 in common but Depeche Mode is also my second favorite band!

All I gotta say is, new U2, new Depeche Mode, new tours, new Twilight...best...year....ever!!! :worship:

Can't wait to hear it! If I wasn't at work, I'd go on myspace right now.

Me too, me too! Depeche Mode is cool too. ;)

What do you guys think about this? I'm looking forward to listening to soundtrack and being a fan of Broadway shows already I would love to check this out!!

According to Rollingstone.com,

The planned Spider-Man musical, featuring music and lyrics by U2’s Bono and the Edge, will make its Broadway debut in February 2010. Previews of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark start January 16th, with the musical’s official starting date February 18th at the Hilton Theatre. Julie Taymor, director of film musical Across the Universe, is set to direct.

Bono and the Edge assuredly had no shortage of material to contribute to the musical — they’re incredibly prolific these days, penning 50 to 60 songs during their No Line on the Horizon recording sessions. The real test for the Irish band’s comic book knowledge surely came into play when they wrote the musical’s lyrics. We’re hoping for a tender eight-arms-to-hold-you ballad sung by Dr. Octopus.

While no casting announcements have been made yet, The Wrestler actress Evan Rachel Wood has long lobbied for the role of Peter Parker’s girlfriend Mary Jane. Wood appeared in Taymor’s Across the Universe alongside actor Jim Sturgess, who has been rumored to play Peter Parker.

According to the press release, “Spider-Man’s battles will hurtle the audience through an origin story both recognizable and unexpected—yielding new characters as well as familiar faces—until a final surprising confrontation casts a startling new light on this hero’s journey.”

Rolling Stone will have more details about the Spider-Man musical in the next issue, so keep an eye on stands.

I heard about this on the radio. I almost laughed (I'm sorry SM3 was awful!) but then I heard Bono and the Edge were doing the music. That sold me.

The SM3 movie was so bad, but maybe Bono and The Edge will make the show better!

Just wanted to remind everyone that U2 will be on Letterman every night this week so don't forget to watch or record!

Also, they will be on Good Morning America on Friday the 6th sometime between 7-9.

Can't wait!! :yay:

Just watched U2 on Letterman. The band sounded great! And they looked fantastic. I like Bono with a little bit of facial hair. :thumbsup2And I like the short hair cut too.

I'll be tivo-ing Letterman all week long! :) Comcast also has a whole bunch of their concerts and videos On Demand.

I would love to surprise DBF with concert tickets. Any word on when they will be touring? I might get him a U2.com membership soon if they are giving pre-sale codes. The other perks sound decent too.

Here's what was posted on U2.Com...

On March 9th, the band will announce details of where and when they'll be hitting the road this year - but dates and venues are yet to be finalized and fans are advised to steer clear of groups claiming to have tickets available now.

Details of countries, cities, venues and dates will be revealed on U2.Com in nine days time and no-one has any tickets yet.

'The tour will be officially announced on March 9th and the schedule is subject to change of date and location till then,' said Paul McGuinness, manager of the band. 'It would be crazy to buy tickets before the announcement on U2.com.'

Arthur Fogel, CEO Global Touring and Chairman Global Music at Live Nation, underlined the advice to fans to steer clear of channels claiming to be selling tickets for the tour.

'The tour has not been announced and no tickets should be purchased at this time. ' he said. 'Fans should beware of unofficial and unscrupulous sellers.'

Bottom line ? Don't take a risk on any tickets until you've seen the real dates announced here, on March 9th.

Last night DBF got qualified to win tickets to see U2 at an intimate venue(?) in Boston next Wednesday. There were only 13 qualifiers so chances are pretty good. They will fly us up on the 11th, see the show, and fly back on the 12th. I would like to have seen more of Boston but if this concert makes him happy that's all that matters. They pick the winner tonight at 10:15 so cross your fingers for us at that time. :thumbsup2 WooHoo, wish us luck! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Wow, that's awesome. It has been all over the news here as to where it might be. My money is on the Paradise, since it was one of the first places they played in the States. The Boston Globe said yesterday that every rumored small venue has been sold out in hopes that U2 will be the "actual" headliner! Good luck!

Hi All--another longtime fan here! I am loving the new cd. I'm a member of the fan club, but am thinking that with my husband's job being iffy, it wouldn't be wise to spend money on tickets. My fingers are crossed that they won't go on sale for a while and we can get our feet back under us in time for me to get the tickets. Anyway, I just read on eonline that in the new Rolling Stone interview that's coming out, the band says they will be putting out another album of new material before the end of the year, called "Songs of Ascent," which they describe as being mellower than NLOTH. They've even already chosen the first single from that record. Pretty exciting!

That's good to hear! I had read that Bono and the Edge wrote 50-60 songs. I knew there had to be something else happening because not very many of them ended up on the cd, obviously!!
