i don't get all the Amanda hate on this thread, either.

What I've noticed over the years is that a significant contingent of people react negatively to anyone with a color-streak in their hair.

One thing I noticed is that one of the boys (David Cook) had a red streak during auditions and has gotten rid of it for the competition; I wonder if some AI adviser warned him.

My DD and her DH are the parents of little Zaida (whose 2nd birthday is today, btw) and my middle DS and his DW are the parents of Isaac who was 2 in November. They both live locally, which makes me happy!
(Oldest DS is still a bachelor at 28.)

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but for any of Michael John's fans here's his band's video. It sounds like every other band out there but he does have an awesome voice! And I can't believe how different he looks.

Yuck. He's quite handsome now with the shorter hair, but ick on the music and on his look in that video. I can't stand that type of everyone-sounds-exactly-alike rock music that is so popular these days. Blech. I'm not really for him anymore after seeing that if that's the style of music he wants to do.

I like Amanda too..not as much as Gina Glockson, but I like her. The only thing is she reminds me ever so slightly of Kat Von Dee from LA Ink and her I can't stand.

I do think Amanda has to show some more range though. Even Janice didn't growl through every song. Amanda won't be around long if she doesn't show some versatility soon.

I hope next week Amanda does something different. If she doesn't show a different side I think she'll seal her fate.

Chris is my favorite, and Gina's the only one I liked last year.

I like Amanda, but she needs to do something different this week. Otherwise, she'll be seen as a one trick pony, and be gone. I'd like to see her sing more, as opposed to the hoarse chanty singing from this past week. Because that reminds me of Dilana from Rockstar:Supernova, and I didn't like her.

i have to agree, and usually i'm agreeing with Simon, but i think he was a bit harsh on her. i think he's more angry with himself for agreeing to this "theme week" crap early on and he's taking it out on everyone else.

I'm trying to get caught up and am still several days behind on this thread , but in case no one else has said this yet, the judges have nothing to do with the themes. I think Ryan even said that the other day on his show.

I'm still trying to get through this thread. (I'm only on page 93. ) But I wanted to add my contribution of who someone reminds me of. I think Alaina looks kind of like Julie Marie Berman, who plays Lulu Spencer, Luke and Laura's daughter on General Hospital.

I've thought that since her audition.

Don't think he is. He's not listed in the credits, and I can't find any mention of him being a producer (such as at IMDB.com). He's produces tons of things, but I don't think Idol is one of them.

We went to Indiana to the Indiana/Purdue basketball game on Tuesday. 1st time at a Indiana game. Very impressive. We were actually the guests of there star forward. Very neat my. Got to go in the locker room after the game. anyway

So I just got caught up yesterday. RY is right there is some good eye candy out of the girls. Amy Davis was one of them. Kristy Lee Cook, Alaina Whittaker looks alot like Miss Underwood, And I agree Kady Malloy is WOW WOW WOW. HOT HOT HOT...Brook is kinda nice too....No one really stands out to me so far a few good ones....dont like DAnny Noriega, David Archuleta, Asia'H Epperson, Alexandrea Lushington...Also I am not a rocker but i for some reason like Amanda Overmyer. I just like the way she carries herself.....But yeah the Eye candy is there
