Oh! :faint:

No wonder that this year is going to be different than all the others.....many of them are already pro's or semi-pro......check out this...........www.votefortheworst.com/americanidol7contestants

Someone posted a link to this a few pages back. I'm never surprised. J Records and the exec producers have a vehicle that is a dream machine to agents and PR people. They use plugola and payola to make sure they get their people the kind of PRICELESS airtime AI provides.

And you KNOW they take it! :lmao:

Every year they place these plants and a BUNCH of non advertised, easy to get rid of extras up for the vote. The plants have already in place fanbases and the extras don't have a snowballs chance in heck.

I watch the show knowing it's about as true as Entertainment Tonight and treat it as such. That takes away some of the disappointment.

I love it Dan.... I agree with the top 24 why does it need to boys vs. girls but you need your eye candy and so far this year the men seem to sing better IMHO. If they did it 2 years ago you would have missed all those weeks with the Pickler :rotfl:

Yeah and that would have stunk....:rotfl:

He creeped me out. I only saw him in the Hollywood week ep.

Missed half of last night's while dealing with a fuse problem..... grr

Sorry to hear that and hope you're holding on fine.

:scared1: :scared:

Wonder how many people you'll hear at the mall with that tone...... :sad2:

To keep someone from crying "sexism" if they don't? :confused3

Probably keep it even just like they do in the finals.... or at least the past couple years.... Or else Chris Daughtry woulda been one of the top 2.....

I am holding up pretty good thanks for asking

I guess sexism is the reason....I dont know I have only disagreed with 1 or 2 winners so its not a huge deal....just wondered why...if your wondering Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia are the 2 winners I didnt really care for.

So - what's the story on Josiah? Someone mentioned that he's doing OK, but that his mother has cancer? I'd like to know the back-story on such a young guy living in his car.

Hey, homegirl there are 24!! :goodvibes Which 12 do you like?

:lmao: I meant Top 24!

I have no problem with that. Many artists these days have put out some kind of album, have myspace sites, performed everywhere and with everyone but still are unknown.

I agree, even though it bothered me a little in the beginning. I had mentioned earlier in the thread that a lot of the contestants are failed or struggling singers, but who isn't these days?! I've randomly searched around on the music section of Myspace a few times and found some really, really great unsigned bands. These are musicians who blow the "established artists" in the mainstream out of the water yet no one knows who they are, so if idol can bring some of these people to the forefront I think it's cool. :thumbsup2 As long as it's entertaining I don't care who's up there singing... idol can't handle another Season 5 or 6 :sad2:

Speaking of guys we know nothing about:

Who is THIS Hugh Jackman lookalike?

Luke Menard

:confused3

I have to YouTube him and some others... have no CLUE who they are. You might as well have called last night the Josiah Carly show!! :confused3

I guess so......but considering we started out with Kelly, Justin, Carrie, Fantasia, etc. It changes the dynamics of the show and that's pretty sad.

That's what I thought at first but look at where half of the contestants are now ;) Kelly, Carrie, Clay and Fantasia have done very well for themselves, and so have a few others, but most of them have disappeared. After the mess of the last two seasons they really needed some actually talented people to get the credibility back and this is the best Top 24 yet. Whether they have prior experience or not (and most of the winners has experience before AI), if they can sing they can sing!

Yep, Sanjaya and Antonella were HOT messes!!:lmao: I hope we don't have repeats of THAT! :scared1:

LOL....I was just saying I would too if it was the 24 best...JMHO....Is there a reason they do 12 and 12??

Maybe they do this because of the group numbers that the Idols perform on the show and on their tour? A balanced group of men and women might be more ideal to the producers rather than, say, 2 men and 10 women, for the group numbers and tour.

However, I would prefer that they choose the best overall singers, regardless of gender.

I was disappointed that they took out the group performances from Hollywood week! Although they were pointless really, they did provide for some good drama!!

I wish Kyle and Josiah had made it to the top 24. Why have these extensive backstories on the people who don't even make it to the top 24? Oh well.

I like the guys more than the girls this year. My favorites at this point are Michael Johns and the long-haired blonde girl who played the piano. I like Carly somewhat and also the rocker-lady. I was hoping the lady with the disabled daughter would have made it through as well.

Would someone tell me which of the 2 final girls made it Wed night? I taped it & watched it last night but just as they were about to announce which one, I think they were Cardin & Joanne, it had stopped taping - Simon in midsentence.
