best place in the World!!!! cannot wait for our next visit next August!!! I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!!

Tommorow is four days before the trip which is when I read you should "fax" any "requests" on room location, etc.... to see if they can accomodate any.

Can anyone help me out on the nicest possible way/proper way/best way to write what we will fax? We don't really have many requests, maybe one of the closer buildings to the main hall and first floor.

Thanks

everything i've read lately indicates that the resorts do not honor or accept room request faxes any more... as long as your preference is stated on your reservation, and you ask again at check-in, they will do their best... the one and only time i faxed a room request was in '01 to cbr and i got *everything* i did not ask for and *nothing* that i requested! and the resort was not full at all!

Since it's not the biggest deal where our room is located, if we don't get to get anything added to our reservation that is fine. When we check-in, we could maybe mention to the cast member to see if they have any open rooms that that could possibly be what we were looking for. In the end, we are just looking foward as a whole it looks AMAZING!

After reviewing this thread I'm so excited about our trip December 19 - 26. :jumping3: (Definately aware of the high crowds.) Thanks again for the information.

Can anyone tell me if this is the refillable mug for POFQ? And do the POR and POFQ resorts use the same mug design?

Interested in the answer to your question, Blu. I think I have that mug from our first trip there in 1999. I just booked a trip back.

I was looking on WDWIG.COM however and they show a different one.

When we bought ours we were told "good for life". I plan on using it. Their rules may have changed with the mugs you buy now but there are 'truth in advertising laws'

Where do they "show" one? Thanks to your suggestion, I went to wdwig.com and looked for them. I am on this page: http://allearsnet.com/din/mugs.htm and they describe the one for POFQ as "White w/purple handle & turquoise lid, POrleans Gator Logo"...which matches the above picture. ???

No, they're purple and white but have some sort of stylized New Orleans-type logo. If I recall, it's a silhouette of something with some music bars on it.

The Riverside ones are different (green, I think) but you can use Riverside ones in FQ and vice versa.

Yes, those are the ones I'm thinking of. At least I was right on the silhouette bit... ;)

I am already so excited about getting back to POFQ. I know my boys will have a blast and my DH and I are looking forward to reminiscing. Ok, so if I dig out my old PO mugs from 1998 I can use them again for free? Not bad. Also, room question. Are corner rooms larger than the others? We will be traveling to Disney for the first time with DS 3 who will need a crib. Any suggestions?

I am getting so excited about staying at POFQ....it's so pretty to tour through (which my mom and I did in 1999), but now we're getting to stay there !!!!!

Theoretically, yes. But it's against the rules. If everyone does this, they might get rid of the free refills thing and then you'll have screwed it up for the rest of us.

We bought new ones on our second visit even though we had our old ones. I thought $12 each + tax was a good deal for 14 days' free drinks.

i don't think that one person, who bought a mug w/a lifetime refill promise, will screw up the mug program for the rest of disney guests... just my opinion...

Just made reservation for September 7-10 for a quick getaway with my DH. Thanks to this thread for helping make my decision. You guys are great.

Have you guys seen the tshirt transfer designs for the resorts that MidNite is doing? Here are her ones for POFQ!

We have a tour booked at Epcot and need to arrive by 8:15am (the park opens at 9am). Do the buses start running that early or should we plan on taking a taxi?

The 1st bus at POFQ was about 6:45 a.m. (for the early park breakfasts/tours). That was in May of this year. My suggestion would be to stop by the Concierge desk and ask - that's what I did and they knew the answer (front desk didn't). But, yes, you should be able to use WDW transportation and be there in plenty of time!

Just back from POFQ! Resot was BEAUTIFUL and so were the rooms! Staff were great and overall had an AWESOME stay!

Only negative was the bus service which changed each and every day, sometimes stopping at all the bus stops, sometimes one, somtimes none (at Riverside that is). They should keep it the same as often as possible, us POFQ people are scared of the SIZE of Riverside LOL.
