sorry to intrude on your post , but I am new to this and was wondering if POFQ has individual buses for each theme park.Ex. a bus that goes to MK then one to Epcot etc....Any info will help as I will be staying for the first time at POFQ April 16-21 2008!!!!

Hi Eileen. I'm waving at you from somewhere in PA (ok, I'm near Gettysburg).

We have only been to Florida once and our TA suggested we stay at POFQ. We loved it. The minute we drove through the gate, we did not want to leave.

My dh, who has hated the busses at Colonial Williamsburg, loved the busses at POFQ. Our waits were relatively short. The bus rides are pleasant. Even though we had our car there, we never used it during our entire stay. The busses were just too convenient.

As someone else told you, just watch for the bus with your destination on it, and it will take you to that park.

Have fun, I wish I were going with you (but I have grandtwins due any day, so I guess that is a good reason to not vacation this year!).

We really want to be in Building 5, but we will not arrive until around 8:00p.m. I am worried we will not get the best location. I have already requested Building 5, but is there somewhere I can call a few days before or day of arrival to ask again.
Also, I had bad luck at POP in Jan. with our room being dirty. There was pink sticky stuff all over the bedspread and blankets, so I had to call and wait for new bedding.
If there was an issue like this at 8:00p.m. will we be able to get new bedding that late at night?

Oh i am sure! thats not late....we called at around 11 pm at Akv when we were missing some bedding...

::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo Just returned this pm from POFQ. Have been to AS movies, riverside and POFQ, and by far liked FQ the best. Quiet, close to buses. Bus system improved since we were there 3 years ago. Only went to riverside 2 times while we were there to pick people up. Wait for the bus was 10 minutes at the most. Stayed in building 5 (room 5244), near the food court, pool, and laundry. The pool was not scheduled to open until the 15th, but it was open on the 10th and the kids went swimming. I really couldn't tell if anything was new, landscaping did appear to be new, but unsure of the pool area. Had to try the Beignets and they were very good.
Weather was beautiful, no rain, temps high 70's, maybe even low 80's. Expected more people at parks due to spring break starting, but I think it was worse in June and August when we went.

So the pool is definately open? We fly out on the 16th March 2008.

Great pics - thanks! Can someone tell me where the hot tub is on this map? I though I remembered reading that it is not by the pool.

Thanks!

We have not been yet (going in Nov.), but from YesMickey, CleveRocks and laura001's descriptions, I believe the hot tub to be right here ... someone correct me if this is inaccurate.

You are correct....that is the hot tub!

I can't wait until I get to go to POFQ. I did riverside in December and loved that one too.

Hi Deb,
Thanks for the great news about POFQ. I will send your reguards to all at WDW. You have an excellent reason to be skipping it this year , good luck with the new grandbabies, I was just blessed with a grandson on Jan. 22 so I know how excited you must be ( future disney lovers in the making!!)

Staying at FQ Aug. 6-12. Surprise trip for dd17 and dd15! They will find out Easter Sunday when they find Disney Dollars in their Easter baskets!
DH and I honeymooned at FQ. Loved it! Quiet resort. Love the boat ride to Downtown Disney. Planning to surprise the girls with a horse-drawn carriage ride too! Can't wait!

Oops-I was wrong, never mind. I don't want to confuse anyone (other than myself).:lmao:

Actually, it is by the pool. The pool, laundry room, and playground all sit on one side of the pool.

Looking at that picture, I don't think that is the hot tub area. The hot tub is next to the pool. You can see the small blue round area and the chairs surrounding it in the picture right below the pool.

No that IS the hot tub located behind the building where the bar and laundry mat are...the blue area next to the pool that you are seeing is the kiddie splash pool

Oh, I get it now. I had my directions messed up. Thanks for clarifying for me.:thumbsup2

Hello all,
My family and I are staying at the POFQ in Sept!!! Does anyone know what building(s) are the water view rooms? Is this true that you can see the fireworks from Epcot at the water view rooms?
Thanks, Dan

We've stayed at POFQ many times. I'm fairly certain you can't see the fireworks from waterview rooms because Epcot is in the opposite direction from the Sassagoula River. We've watched the fireworks from POFQ a few times, you can't see everything but can see the higher ones and can definitely hear the booms. Best options for seeing as much as possible - building one, third floor, balcony (juts out from exterior walkway) that faces the parking lot and the woods, or green area at building one (again looking toward parking lot and on the far side toward the trees).

How is the boat service to DTD? Does it pick up at Riverside first or French Quater? Not to much longer before were on the road.:yay:

Riverside first, then French Quarter, then onward to DTD. Coming back is the same, drop off at FQ first and then finish at Riverside. The whole trip is about 20 mins, plus any load/unload waiting time at FQ.

Oh, and before 11am the ferry boats normally just run between POR and POFQ, after 11am they continue onward to visit DTD.
