That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

I have never seen Pirate Goofy! That's awesome! Usually it's Smee, Hook or Wendy I see at Pirates.

I've been enjoying your TR so far. I would love to go to Disney with my sister! Looking forward to hearing about the rest!

Holy Moley, You really got a lot of rides done! Now that is great planning of an EMH.
We also saw Pirate Goofy. Kadence & John got a photo with him. We had gotten lucky as he just came out. While we were with Goofy, the line increased to about 30+ people.

Wow, you guys definitely got a lot done in three hours. Very impressive indeed.

Love the picture with Pirate Goofy. I have personally never seen him before, but I'm going to be keeping my eye out for him on my next trip.

That is so great you were able to hit so many rides in 3 hours! The only thing better than being at Disney is being at Disney without crowds :thumbsup2

I love the picture with Pirate Goofy! He's so cute :)

I agree...we love low crowds!

Wow! I can't believe how much you got done. I don't think I've ever done that even during the off months. Wow! (I think I'm starting overuse that world LOL). Awesome pictures of the Haunted Mansion. :goodvibes And really? TEN PICTURES OF HER KIDS ON ONE RIDE! I mean seriously. I went to Disney for my first time almost exactly a year ago and my mom didn't really take pictures on rides. If she did, there was no flash and probably only one picture and we did see people taking flash pictures left-and-right (ruined our ride on The Seas with Nemo & Friends)... Don't get it... I guess some people don't understand the meaning of "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!" A little wiggle-room in that, but yeah, cameras remain in bags. I can't wait to hear about how much more you got done, sounds like a lot more to be done... Update soon! :mickeyjum

LOL! Yeah, we always get to the parks early whether it's peak season or not. We're able to get so much done so it's worth it to us.

I just don't understand why she needed to take so many pictures of her kids! And I can't imagine any of them were any good considering how close you're sitting together on those boats. Oh well.

Wow you got a ton of things done!!!! I agree, you can only have so many pics of IASW! I usually just take one or two now but it's hard to cut yourself off!

We sure did...it was great!

I'm definitely a pro-morning person when it comes to Disney. It's true you can get lots done at park opening before the crowds build. Ugh, those school groups are a major pain sometimes. Sorry to hear they put a damper on PoTC. Speaking of people taking pictures with flash, I was on Haunted Mansion and the creepy dude was doing his recorded spiel of "No Flash pictures please!" but this woman in front of us continued to take a bazillion pictures using flash. I could've killed her. When I got off the ride, I heard her speak Spanish to her family so clearly, she hadn't understood the announcement. Oh well. I just hopped on again to have a better ride!

Yeah, I think I'd rather get up early and do a lot than spend most of the time waiting in lines.

haha, they probably didn't understand the spiel. But really, I don't understand why people think they can just take a ton of ride pictures. :confused3

Wow you got so much done before 11:00! :cool1: Pirate Goofy is so cute, I always want to get a pic with him, but the line is always so long! :confused3

I didn't get to go on IASW on my last trip, so I didn't see the new queue, but I'm definitely going on it in October! My DH refused to go on it, he HATES IASW, but I like it, it's such a classic!

Oh, really? So maybe we lucked out then!

I am with you...it is a classic, one that Walt built himself. :goodvibes

I am impressed with how many rides you got done in such a short time! :thumbsup2

haha, thanks!

I can't even sit 10 minutes in a line and then I start looking at my watch. If it goes past 30 minutes I wonder what I was thinking.

You guys did really great on your first morning.
You can imagine how freaked out I was going to the MK at 3:00 p.m.
I kept thinking what a waste of a day-but the rain sent everyone back
to their hotel or resorts and the park was like a EMH the whole rest of the day.

I still love the early mornings though.

Yeah, 30 minutes is about the cut-off for me. Though there are a couple exceptions every once in a while, like when I met the fairies and several years ago when Test Track first opened...we waited an hour and a half to ride that!

haha, we were some of the people who had gotten sick of the rain and went back to our hotel. But that's great you were able to do so much.

I actually started writing it out on Word, but it sounds pretty dull. I'll probably keep going to use it as a personal journal, but I'm not sure anyone else would be interested. I would also have to learn how to use Photo Bucket so I can add some of Emma's pictures to spice up the report if I do post it.

Yay!

And that wasn't even technically an early opening because there were no EMH. I really love those 7 AM openings with AM EMH.

That's true. Yes, 7 am openings are quite fun. haha

that is a lot. makes me want to consider going for AM emh even though it technically wasnt a emh. my little one is a early riser anyway

You should do it! We've never had problems with major crowds when we go early and as you can see, you can get a lot done!

:lmao: I love the little girl saying Canada is one of her favorite islands! I always enjoy hearing kids say the funniest things in WDW :cutie:

Ugh I hate being stuck in line behind annoying middle schoolers or high schoolers  It always makes the line seem that much longer :sad2:

Cute picture with Pirate Goofy!

Wow you two did a ton before lunch :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see what the rest of your MK day brings!

LOL, I agree. It's one of the fun things about being a teacher too. You never know what they're going to say!

The teacher in me kind of wants to say something to them but then I don't want them to think I'm rude or anything. :rolleyes1

I really like how they switched the queueing for IASW. Even though it feels really weird, it does make more sense that you can wait and spend time looking at other people loading their boats. We had a good wait for these past 2 trips, so it gave us something to do.

Haha, love the Hawaii and Canada comment!

I wonder if they did it so they can have more people inside the building so on those rare occasions when the wait is longer than 10 minutes they don't flood out into Fantasyland.

Me too, it was so cute.

What a great morning you had! I remember the good old days when we would go and the crowds would be like that every trip...not so much for us anymore;) Nothing like getting all the rides you want in before noon:rolleyes1

We've gone so many times during peak seasons we kind of got used to bigger crowds. But still, even at Christmas when it's really busy we were still able to do what we wanted to.

Glad i found your TR! I really enjoyed watching the video you took while at MK because it made me feel like i was there! Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

Glad you are enjoying it! Thanks for reading. :)

I have never seen Pirate Goofy! That's awesome! Usually it's Smee, Hook or Wendy I see at Pirates.

I remember seeing him one other time but thought he was only for the people who did the Pirate's League. Guess not! I love meeting "new" characters.

I've been enjoying your TR so far. I would love to go to Disney with my sister! Looking forward to hearing about the rest!

Welcome! This was my second trip with my sister...last August I went with both of my sisters. We had a lot of fun!

Holy Moley, You really got a lot of rides done! Now that is great planning of an EMH.
We also saw Pirate Goofy. Kadence & John got a photo with him. We had gotten lucky as he just came out. While we were with Goofy, the line increased to about 30+ people.

The funny thing is we really don't plan too much. We know we want to do Space Mountain first and then Splash/BTMRR but after that we just sort of wander around. And as my dad was saying, it's not like we are rushing around like maniacs trying to get everything done.

Wow, you guys definitely got a lot done in three hours. Very impressive indeed.

Love the picture with Pirate Goofy. I have personally never seen him before, but I'm going to be keeping my eye out for him on my next trip.

Thanks!

Hope you find him...he's right outside the gift shop near the Pirate's League.

I'm in total agreement with you on arriving at the parks early! Minimal lines is soooooo worth getting up early for :thumbsup2

Ummmmm, I think I would have put in a request to wait for the next boat on Pirates.......

I've never seen Pirate Goofy before!

What a fun morning you two had at the MK. The weather looks beautiful and the low wait times make for stress free touring. I think your Dad should do a trip report, I know I would struggle with one, but he has you there to help him with adding pictures. Lucky you to have a 3 day weekend. I have off on Friday, and I can't wait to watch the Royal Wedding coverage.
Maybe I will see you on the 28th at VB:rolleyes1, I think there may be something happening at the store on the 27th, my DS rec'd a card, but all I got was an email about the 28th. Oh well, maybe I will head over there both days. I am thinking of picking up the straw beach bag for a birthday gift, and getting a 20% discount would be great.
I hope you have more pictures of your resort too, will that be coming later in your report?

It definitely is worth getting up for. I'd rather be there early! Plus, it's hard for me to sleep in in WDW anyway.

It was a great way to kick off our trip. Couldn't have asked for better weather that day...I'm so glad the rain held off until the second day. It would've been even more depressing to have to deal with that the first day in the parks. :sad2:

As far as my dad doing a TR, he said he did start typing one up and my sisters and I were giving him a little crash course in photobucket this morning before our Easter festivities. :rotfl: If he does post it I'll give a shameless plug on here. haha

Yeah, usually they have something the night before the all day events...I got an invite for that. :confused3

And don't worry, I do have more pictures of the resort to share later in the TR!

Hey, Sarah, I did post an opening installment of my first feeble attempt at a trip report. It's titled "Happy Birthday From Goofy". Maybe some of your followers can take a look at it to see where you got your love of all things Disney.

Yes, I found it!

Happy Monday everyone! Although really it's not so happy seeing as we have to make up our snow day today and I'm still kind of bitter about that. Oh well, only a few more weeks to go until it's summer. :yay:

I am going to hopefully have another update after school but first a couple other Disney-related things...

Since we did have off of school on Friday, my dad and I went to see the newest Disneynature movie, African Cats.
African-Cats.jpg

We both enjoyed Earth and then last year we went to see Oceans. The third movie did not disappoint! I'll try not to give too much away in case anyone else is planning to see it but it's basically the story of two cat families: a cheetah mother and her cubs and a lioness and her cub. The one thing that jumped out to me right away was that some of the "characters" had names relating to things in Disney World (don't know if that was intentional or not but there was a lion named Kali and a lion cub named Mara...isn't the quick service restaurant at AKL named the Mara?). We found that African Cats was more like Earth in that it tells more of a story. Oceans was more of a documentary-as my dad said, it's hard to tell a story with some of those bizarre sea creatures! I will say that the movie is very true to life in that there are hunting/fighting scenes as well as some of the "circle of life" stuff. There were a lot of smaller kids there with schools being off and I know there was one part in particular that really upset one of the little girls. But, even with some of that stuff there are some funny moments, like the little cheetah cubs thinking they are so ferocious and some lion cubs playing with a turtle. :rotfl: Overall, it was a really good movie. They also had a trailer for next year's Disneynature film called Chimpanzee. You can check it out here if you're interested:

Disneynature Chimpanzee Trailer

Isn't the little chimp Oscar adorable?! :cutie: It looks like it's going to be good but also kind of sad! :guilty:

Oh, and one more thing. As I've mentioned a lot in this TR and PTR, my parents and sister took a trip a couple weeks before we did. My dad's been toying around with starting his own trip report and he finally did! I'm going to give a little shameless plug here and say go check it out! You can find it right here:

Happy Birthday from Goofy

Hope to see some of you over there too. :)

I actually came across your dad's report last night. I'm excited to read both of your adventures in the world. I haven't actually seen any of the Disney Nature movies before (I get a little emotional when it comes to animals in movies) but based on previews i've seen all the animals look cute.

nice report! My dad told me yesterday that he was going to take me to see it but I can't eat popcorn right now so that would just be mean :( haha. I agree though! Hopefully by next weekend I can see it!

I'll check our you dad's report!

Aren't all the Disney Nature movies sad or any Nature-related movie/documentary? I'm not too interested, though I may just rent it when it comes on DVD because Disney has great filmography skills in those movies. I'll be sure to check out your dad's TR :)

Nice review of African Cats! I really want to see it. And I still have to see Earth, Oceans and Tangled. I need to get my act together

African Cats sounds so good! I'd like to see it, but I'm nervous, I know what happens in these nature movies, cute little fluffy things get eaten or abandoned and I seriously cannot handle that! So I might skip this movie! :rotfl:

I'll definitely check out your dad's TR, sound fun!

I hear you on that...there are some parts that are very sad but I kept telling myself it's the circle of life and you know it happens. Still sad to see stuff like that though. :guilty: All of the Disneynature movies have been excellent! The filmography is amazing!

I hope you get to see it-it's really good!

Yay, my dad will appreciate having some readers. :)

Yeah, I suppose that's true. You should rent them though!

Oh gosh, yes you do! LOL. All of those movies are awesome! Especially Tangled!

I know, it's especially sad when it's the babies. :sad1: But don't skip it, like I said, there are some sad parts but it's so cool to see all these animals. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info about African Cats. Would you please PM me the spoiler for what made the girls upset. My son wants to see if but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.
