That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 cont'd (part 3)
Our next stop after the gorilla trail was Asia. We had to ride Expedition Everest again! We ended up doing single riders to cut our wait time. As usual we enjoyed the ride. I guess I didn't take any pictures. Oh well. Part of me feels like once you've taken a picture of something on a trip you don't need another one. LOL. But I did take a random picture of some of the scenery while watching the rafts go by on Kali River Rapids (no, we didn't ride!).

Since we were in Asia we took the time to explore another one of the trails: the Maharajah Jungle Trek, home of the tigers!

Some of the details in the forest:

The murals of the tigers are pretty cool too.

We did spot a tiger or two, but as usual they were just resting.

Does this trail make anyone else think of Kingdom Keepers? hehe

We also wanted to see Festival of the Lion King so we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey. We had plenty of time to kill before the show started so we stopped to say hello to Brer Rabbit. Or should I say the Easter bunny? As we were walking over to him (there was nobody in line for him) I heard some dude say, "Who is that, the Easter bunny?"

After our pictures we went to get in line for the show. We had to wait 15-20 minutes before they let us into the theater. Once we got in, we were seated in the lion section-woo hoo! This show really is great and the more I see it, the more I appreciate it. One thing that I love about it is that the performers seem to be having so much fun and you can tell by their energy. Oh yeah, and I love the music too.

Here's a short video of one of my favorite parts-the celebration finale. See what I mean about their energy? :yay: You can't help but clap along or tap your toes. :)

When the show was over, we decided to head out. But because the weather was still cooperating, we didn't want to go back to the resort. So where did we head next? Stay tuned...popcorn::

I love you collage from Kohl's ... great pictures you chose to put in it too! I have 3 of those in our hallway and as soon as I come out of my room they are right in front of me...it helps on mornings that I really don't want to go to work....I remember why I have to!!!!

FOTLK is my FAVORITE show EVER!! Can you tell I love it just a little:rotfl2:

I can't believe you guys got to meet Brer Rabbit! That dude is never out! You were so lucky. You should've given the guy who thought Brer Rabbit was the Easter bunny a good talkin'-to. There is a big difference between the two and he should understand that. LOL And the Festival of the Lion King looks more and more awesome everytime it is brought up. Especially this time, when you show a video. I could clearly see, feel and hear the energy, even through the video. The music sounded fantastic too. That show will be at the top of my must-do list for my next trip. :thumbsup2 Oh and the collage you and Claire put together looks awesome, you definitely got the diversity perfectly. I love how you have a representation of each park. That deserves another thumbs up :goodvibes Can't wait to read more, update ASAP! :mickeyjum

Aww, Brer Rabbit is so cute, I never see him anywhere! :cool1:

I can't wait to finally see FOTLK in October! It looks amazing! :)

I really like your collage. I would like to do something like that, but same problem, which pictures to choose?

We missed Asia last trip. We didn't want to ride Everest :confused3 I think I forgot the dramimine that day.

Again, another reason to go back:lmao:

Nice updates. I'm guessing since I'm moving in July that I'm on your hate list of ppl who will be at Disney this summer??? I apologize in advance but u can come with and help me move and your sister too!

Brer Rabbit - how cool! We haven't made it to the Lion King show. I really need to put it on my list, it looks so fun!

Your collage is cute. Bummer about Disney envy. I know the feeling well - I'm experiencing it right now too :cutie:

I love FotLK, too. The Lion section is my favorite, although anything but warthog will do. That is the most disgusting sound...

Brer Rabbit is so much cooler than the Easter Bunny! :lmao:

FOTLK is something I've always wanted to see but we're just never in the right place at the right time ): It looks really awesome and upbeat!
Great update (:

AHH you got to meet Brer Rabbit! I love him! Out of the Splash characters I've only met Brer Bear & Brer Fox when they were standing out in a random spot in MK. Too funny a guy thought he was the Easter bunny  Don't they usually look freaky though?

Love your collage, by the way :)

That's so cool that you got to meet Brer Rabbit. It's been almost 10 years since I've seen him out. I'd love to see him again.

Great updates! I've been catching up.

Love that you guys got such great shots of the lions on the safari. I think I've only seen the lions one time on the safari, and didn't manage to get any pictures of it.

That gorilla is so adorable! The moment I saw the picture, I was like, awwww.

Yeah, we were so excited to see the lions. Well, atleast I was.

haha, I know, isn't she cute? :)

Aww, thanks. It took FOREVER to decide which ones to put in because we wanted to have one from all the parks, not too many with characters, and some representing the different seasons. But it turned out pretty good. I kind of want to do another one! haha

I can see why you love it so much! It is an awesome show. :thumbsup2

It was cool to see Brer Rabbit and even better that he had nobody else in line to see him!

A few years ago I actually bought the soundtrack to FOTLK. Definitely a good buy!

I'm jealous, Brer Rabbit!

haha, thanks.

FOTLK is my favorite show EVER. :cloud9:

It is just SO GOOD. :)

It is really good!

Aww, Brer Rabbit is so cute, I never see him anywhere! :cool1:

I can't wait to finally see FOTLK in October! It looks amazing! :)

I feel like I've seen him near Splash Mountain a few times. But I could be wrong.

I really like your collage. I would like to do something like that, but same problem, which pictures to choose?

We missed Asia last trip. We didn't want to ride Everest :confused3 I think I forgot the dramimine that day.

Thanks! It was a fun little project but the hardest part was definitely choosing the pictures. I kept saying how we should've gotten a bigger frame so we could put more pictures in it!

Nice updates. I'm guessing since I'm moving in July that I'm on your hate list of ppl who will be at Disney this summer??? I apologize in advance but u can come with and help me move and your sister too!

LOL, hate is a bit of a strong word, just extremely jealous. Especially for people who can just go whenever they want and don't have to worry about school schedules at all. It's not like I can just pick a week and go. Boo! I am still hoping I can go sometime in the fall, though I don't think that'll happen. If worst comes to worst I'll just have to go for spring break.

Brer Rabbit - how cool! We haven't made it to the Lion King show. I really need to put it on my list, it looks so fun!

You haven't seen FOTLK? Yes, you need to see it! Plus the theater is air conditioned which is nice. hehe!

OMG, really? The easter bunny?! :rotfl2:

I think somebody needs a Disney class, stat!

I know! Some people really are clueless.

I love FotLK, too. The Lion section is my favorite, although anything but warthog will do. That is the most disgusting sound...

Brer Rabbit is so much cooler than the Easter Bunny! :lmao:

haha, that's funny. I always like when they ask people to do the animal sounds and nobody knows what the giraffe does (not like I would either, if it weren't for seeing the show before).

FOTLK is something I've always wanted to see but we're just never in the right place at the right time ): It looks really awesome and upbeat!
Great update (:

You should try to see it!

I think I have Brer Bear and Brer Fox's autographs from a long time ago.

Thanks!

That's so cool that you got to meet Brer Rabbit. It's been almost 10 years since I've seen him out. I'd love to see him again.

Oh wow, really? Is he that rare?

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 cont'd (part 4)

After Festival of the Lion King, we decided to head out. We wanted to continue to enjoy the better weather so we ended up going right over to Epcot. We had our ADR for Via Napoli that night and figured we might as well just go over there. Plus, it would be nice to see the flowers in the sunlight!

When we got to the buses, there were a lot of people waiting for the Epcot one. It was also kind of annoying because for some reason, the people decided to form a line that went straight back instead of going through the railings like you usually do. :confused3 So it ended up blocking the sidewalk. I don't know what they were all thinking but I didn't want to wait so I was bad...I ended up skipping everybody so I was in the actual line (in between the railings). But, as it turns out, a bus for the TTC came sooner so we got out of line and got on that one instead. It might've taken an extra step but atleast we left sooner than all those other people. Plus we got a monorail ride out of it (can't complain about that!).

Once at Epcot, we tried again to take pictures of the display at the entrance. It was nice to not have to stand under the overhangs this time!

Notice it was still pretty cloudy but the sun did break through. I'll take that over rain!

228110_748121326904_20305212_38563973_3800780_n.jpg

I had to get my picture taken in front of it which was kind of a feat because there's always a lot of people who want to do the same thing.

We really didn't have any plans for the afternoon so we pretty much just strolled around, enjoying the sunshine and of course all the flowers. I really do think that spring is one of my favorite times to go (along with the holidays) because I love the Flower and Garden Festival! Epcot always looks so festive and springy. The colors of the flowers are awesome and you can't forget about the topiaries. I remember talking to my dad last April and we were saying how it must be fun to be a local and just go over to Epcot to walk around and look at the flowers. If you've never gone during this time, maybe these pictures will convince you:

Much more attractive in the sunlight, huh?

One of my favorite parts of the F&GF is the fairy garden. It's so cute! I like how they match the flowers to the color of the fairies.

Rosetta, the garden fairy (yes, I am a Disney fairy expert...haha! If you've never seen the fairy movies, they all have different talents. Tinkerbell is a tinker fairy, which is how she got her name!)

And of course, we can't forget about Tink! I tried to imitate her pose. When we got home Emma made fun of me for doing that. Sorry, but sometimes it's more fun to have pictures where you're not just standing there!
227293_748121721114_20305212_38563993_7566799_n.jpg

One thing that was new this year was you could meet Tinkerbell and some of her friends right near the fairy garden (I just noticed you can see one girl with Tink in the background of the Iridessa picture!). Unfortunately, the line was really long that night so we didn't bother. Atleast we both met them in Toontown.

up next: more flowers and meeting a new Disney friend

Nice update :)

I love the Flower and Garden Festival so I really enjoyed your pictures! I love all the topiaries and you look adorable in your Tink pose :goodvibes

Well, you just made me think about going for the Flower Festival some day! I am amazed at all the shrubs shaped like characters.

I agree. I love the Flower and Garden Festival. Epcot is a beautiful park already and all the added flowers make it spectacular!

Great Flower and Garden pics! I went last year and I'm so sad I didn't get to go this year, it's such a nice time to go! :thumbsup2 Your Tink picture is so cute! :)
