That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

The baby gorilla is so cute! I got a brief glimpse of it when we were there. Sad to hear that it is not well. :guilty:

Thanks for waiting until I returned to post an update, I appreciate the thoughtfulness :rotfl:

The baby gorilla is adorable! *squee*

I've always liked the Okapis. :thumbsup2 It looks like the gorillas were being pretty active, too, although it is sad how little the baby gorilla is still.

Nice update!!!! I enjoy the trail and the Flights of Wonder show but the only time I've seen it was during my park training at AK so it's not a favorite but it passes the time!

More great pictures....the gorilla's are exquisite aren't they! I could watch them all day! So sad about the baby...but at least we know she's in a great place where she'll be well looked after:thumbsup2

Hey, you do have a picture with Flik!

Great pictures of the animals!

It sounds like you had a great time at Flights of Wonder! I went to it once but I am pretty afraid of birds so I don't think I will be going again

Again, great pictures of the animals! I love the one of the meerkat, they're so cute:) And the Flights of Wonder show looks pretty cool, I've always wanted to see it!

We really liked exploring in the trails in AK. Kadence did a big homework project on what we saw there so she didn't have to make up the stuff she missed at school while on vacation.

We still haven't done the bird show. Oh well, another reason to go back!:thumbsup2

That mouse at Pangani is pretty cool. I remember it from last time I was there.

I don't know why, but the contrast of all the photos of the gorillas at Pangani followed directly by the photo with Terk struck me as funny.

Awww do you know what is wrong with the baby gorilla?

Aw I know, I feel so bad for Lilly (I'm pretty sure that's the baby gorilla's name). I read a few months ago that she was getting occupational therapy a few times a week as well as daily regular therapy sessions so it's good to know she's being well taken care of.

I really enjoy the Flights of Wonder show. It always makes me laugh. :)

I love Flights of Wonder. I'm not a bird enthusiast either, but it's a great show. The first time I saw it I got picked to go on stage (the adults with a camera bit).

I've never been on many of the exploration trails at AK, but the Pangani one looks cool. The mouse that you found is adorable! I want one (: And those meerkats are pretty cute too ;) I'll take one of them as well LOL I'm not sure about the Gorillas though... (; Those are great pictures with Flik and Terk. I never even knew they were still in AK. I want to get pictures with them now! :goodvibes And that Flights of Wonder show looks pretty cool! I've heard many say it is a great show and I just always pass it up to go on some other ride. I really need to see more Disney shows... Can't wait to read more, update soon! :mickeyjum

She is really cute. I had no idea she wasn't growing right. :(

haha, no problem. ;)

I didn't know there was a baby gorilla.

Yup, she was born last year.

I've always liked the Okapis. :thumbsup2 It looks like the gorillas were being pretty active, too, although it is sad how little the baby gorilla is still.

We saw a lot more gorillas but I didn't take a ton of pictures. We must've seen atleast 6 of them!

Nice update!!!! I enjoy the trail and the Flights of Wonder show but the only time I've seen it was during my park training at AK so it's not a favorite but it passes the time!

I actually really like the bird show now!

More great pictures....the gorilla's are exquisite aren't they! I could watch them all day! So sad about the baby...but at least we know she's in a great place where she'll be well looked after:thumbsup2

That is so true. I'm sure they are taking great care of her.

I knew I did!

Great pictures of the animals!

Thanks!

LOL, like I said, I'm not a huge bird fan but I still think it's really cool.

Again, great pictures of the animals! I love the one of the meerkat, they're so cute:) And the Flights of Wonder show looks pretty cool, I've always wanted to see it!

You should go see FOW if you get the chance! It's fun and educational. :thumbsup2

Oh wow, that would actually be a really fun homework assignment! How neat she got to do that to make up the other work she'd be missing.

Yes, definitely!

I thought the mouse was kind of creepy. LOL.

Awww do you know what is wrong with the baby gorilla?

I don't know exactly what is wrong with the baby. But it has something to do with her not growing the way she should be.

Aw I know, I feel so bad for Lilly (I'm pretty sure that's the baby gorilla's name). I read a few months ago that she was getting occupational therapy a few times a week as well as daily regular therapy sessions so it's good to know she's being well taken care of.

I know, it is sad. That's great that she's in such good hands. :goodvibes

I agree. FOW is pretty funny.

Here are your pictures with Terk and Flik. I didn't realize I didn't put them on my facebook. :)

haha, thanks.

I love Flights of Wonder. I'm not a bird enthusiast either, but it's a great show. The first time I saw it I got picked to go on stage (the adults with a camera bit).

Oooh, cool! I would love to do that but I bet I would freak out.

The trails are kind of overlooked because most people want the rides (i.e. my sister...). But they're a fun, relaxing way to enjoy the park. You should try them the next time you go.

Hi everyone! Wow, I am really terrible at updating this trip report. One update a week is not good. :rolleyes1 I think part of it has to do with the fact that lately I am having a lot of Disney jealousy. It seems like everyone has a trip or multiple trips in the works. As of right now, I am planning on going right after Christmas for a few days but we'll see if that actually happens. The joys of having to work around a school schedule! I am still hoping something works out that I can go visit my sister. But I guess we'll have to see how things play out over the next couple of months. So dragging out this trip report must be a way of hoping another trip comes up. haha! If worst comes to worst I'll probably just go next year for spring break. But that's a loooong way off. Boo! OK, sorry for that. Yes, there is a drawback to being in DVC...you get Disney spoiled!

Anyway, I don't know if she wants me saying anything (or if I'm allowed to say anything) but the other day my sister found out one of her roommates for the CP so that is kind of cool. Hard to believe she'll be going down there in just over two months!

Last bit of randomness before getting back to the report. Last weekend Claire and I decided to do a little Disney project. We've been wanting to frame some of our Disney pictures for a while so we got a collage frame from Kohl's and came up with this:
247820_758782302224_20305212_38705000_1044762_n.jpg

I think it turned out pretty well. We wanted to get a good mix of photos from our various trips over the year and I think we did well. I have to say though, it was really hard narrowing down hundreds of pictures to just twelve! But we chose some good ones to showcase the various times we've gone and favorite memories/places. :)

Alright, time for the next update...(in the next post)

Great updates! I've been catching up.

Love that you guys got such great shots of the lions on the safari. I think I've only seen the lions one time on the safari, and didn't manage to get any pictures of it.

That gorilla is so adorable! The moment I saw the picture, I was like, awwww.
