That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

I totally agree about going to WDW in the spring. I went during the spring my first trip (over a year ago now) and comparing it to my second, I liked it just a bit better. The Flower & Garden Festival was definitely one reason. We didn't even know it was happening being such newbies and I thought it was fantastic. We took a ton of pictures of the topiaries and even now, after seeing many pictures of them, they are still magnificent! Disney always does it better (: I'm sorry you had to get caught in the mob for the best, but you got through it all well, getting to ride on the monorail, always a plus. :thumbsup2 I love the pictures of the fairies and Donald and Daisy Duck. I'm not sure, but I've gone during a time where the topiaries are up or the festival is starting, I mentioned above, and I've never seen those ones. Well... like everything in Disney, you can never truly "see it all". And thumbs up for stopping just standing there in pictures and making up some other pose to do. It is very true that you can't just stand there and smile. I think Disney even notices that with some of their little Photopass effects they give you the option of doing. Well... now that you've stopped and smelled the rose, I can't wait to read more about your new EPCOT endeavors! :goodvibes

I love the F&GF. I haven't been in a few years, but the Toy Story setup at the front of Future World is so cute.

I love all your F&GF pics. I love looking at pictures of it, all the colorful flowers just make me so happy:goodvibes And your Tink pic is awesome, it really does get boring just standing there for every photo after awhile!

I have to agree with you too. Spring is a great time to go to WDW. It is so cool here in the Spring, and so beautiful in FL during that time. We went to the F&GF last year, and it was lovely. I esp liked all the princess topiaries. Your pose is cute with Tink, where else can you act silly?

Are you watching the HGTV show about turning yards into Disney Themed yards. In Milwaukee it is on at 7pm on Mondays. Don't miss it, it is really fun.
Been to any games?

Nice update :)

I love the Flower and Garden Festival so I really enjoyed your pictures! I love all the topiaries and you look adorable in your Tink pose :goodvibes

Glad you liked all the pictures. :) It's hard to not take a lot...there's so much to see.

Well, you just made me think about going for the Flower Festival some day! I am amazed at all the shrubs shaped like characters.

You should definitely consider going during spring sometime. Plus, it's usually pretty nice weather-wise too.

I agree. I love the Flower and Garden Festival. Epcot is a beautiful park already and all the added flowers make it spectacular!

I agree!

Great Flower and Garden pics! I went last year and I'm so sad I didn't get to go this year, it's such a nice time to go! :thumbsup2 Your Tink picture is so cute! :)

Yeah, I have a feeling the next time I go to WDW it will be next spring (even though we have a reservation for Dec. but I don't think anybody is going to go with me :().

Yeah, I remember looking at some of our old pictures from when we went over spring break (we did that a lot when my sisters and I were in school). I had no idea it was going on either but looking back now it's like, hey, it's the Flower and Garden Festival! haha

I love the F&GF. I haven't been in a few years, but the Toy Story setup at the front of Future World is so cute.

I loved the Toy Story display.

Your pictures are so good! I really need to get there during F & G one of thoses years:thumbsup2

Yes, you should go during the F&GF!

I love all your F&GF pics. I love looking at pictures of it, all the colorful flowers just make me so happy:goodvibes And your Tink pic is awesome, it really does get boring just standing there for every photo after awhile!

I know, right?! That's exactly how I feel too looking at all the flower and other displays. It's just so festive and springy!

I have not been watching the Disney show on HGTV but I remember seeing something about that. Maybe I'll try to watch it one of these days.

Yes, we have been to a few games. We actually went to two this week...Wednesday against the Mets (the one they won :yay:) and then again last night. We weren't planning on going last night, but my sister is interning with ESPN over the summer before she leaves for Florida-she got some free tickets so we went last-minute. It was another good game!

Hey Sarah, just catching up!

I won't go back and comment on everything, but I just gotta say that I really like that you posed with the Tink topiary - really, if you can't act silly at WDW, where can you? :thumbsup2

Sarah,

I hope you do find someone to go to WDW with you in Dec, I'm sure your sister will like visitors.

I was at the game Wed, so hot, but what a great game. I went today and Friday night. An internship with ESPN and Disney CP, quite the year for your sister, wow.

The fairy garden is one of my favorites of the F&GF too!
I love all the characters that they sculpt from flowers/plants, they always turn out really good

Welcome back...hope you enjoyed your cruise! Can't wait to read about it. :)

haha, thanks. I had to do something a little different for a change! Who cares what my sister said.

Yeah, I know she would too, especially since she won't be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But atleast my parents are going to visit her a couple times. My dad's got 4 trips planned...taking her down there, then in October, early December, and then to pick her up. I'm still trying to figure out how that's fair. haha

It was SO hot at that game! It was funny though because when we left it was starting to cool off and we had to walk to the car in the rain/lightning. Pretty good homestand. If only they could win games on the road!

The fairy garden is one of my favorites of the F&GF too!

I do too. They're so cool!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 cont'd (part 5)

As I mentioned, we really didn't have any plans for the afternoon at Epcot, other than our dinner at Via Napoli. In fact, I can't even remember if we did any rides. I want to say we did Living with the Land but maybe that was another day. LOL. Maybe my sister can help me out. Anyway, we were enjoying the sunny afternoon so we continued to explore the various displays for the Flower and Garden Festival.

An obligatory Future World/monorail picture...

One of the things that they like to do for the F&GF is do displays to promote the new movies. Like last year they had something for the Princess and the Frog (even though it was with cheap cardboard cutouts) and Oceans. This year, they featured some cute Winnie the Pooh topiaries.

Here's Eeyore and Piglet.

Just some random flowers. I loved the vibrant colors. So pretty!

I guess Claire got an obligatory monorail shot too. I kind of like hers better!

Next we went to take a peek inside the butterfly house. I think this was right near the Fairy Garden. Inside we found Bambi and a couple of his friends.

And of course, some butterflies. Or, a butterfly. No, there were more but I just took a picture of this one. They all kind of looked the same. :)

We didn't stay in the butterfly house too long, partly because they sort of freak me out. I'm always afraid one is going to land on me. :rolleyes1 Yes, I'm weird.

After the butterflies we decided to start walking out toward World Showcase. I guess we did have one thing we wanted to do before dinner and that was meet Duffy the Disney Bear! On the way we saw the Cars 2 display featuring Lightning McQueen (kachow!...sorry, couldn't resist).

Notice there was no Mater when we were there. He was added later, which was kind of a bummer. Oh well.

When we got to the Duffy meet and greet area, there were only a few other people in line. Claire took the opportunity to take some pictures of Duffy's story. So if you aren't familiar with it, here you go!

While we were in line, Claire made friends with a little girl. She was so cute and so excited to meet Duffy. She was wearing a princess dress so Claire started asking her about her favorite princess and stuff (of course Duffy would need his cookie break when we got to the front of the line). I had to laugh at her dad though. As Duffy was walking away, he noticed that he has a Mickey head on his backside. The dad said something like, "Do you think he has that so he can say 'Kiss my Mickey?'" :rotfl: I thought that was kind of funny.

After a few minutes Duffy returned from his cookie break and it was our turn to welcome Duffy to Epcot.

I think our picture turned out pretty cute.

And now that I see that I'm holding a bag, I remember that when we got there we got our Disney Visa picture taken at Innoventions. I must've forgotten because we were kind of rushed. When we went in August, they took so many pictures! We got a group shot and then they took one of me and each of my sisters alone with the characters. This time they might've taken two shots and we were done. Hmm. Anyway...

After our visit with Duffy I decided I needed to get a little something to commemorate the occasion! Before the trip I had been debating getting one of the stuffed animals but eventually went against that idea. I ended up getting one of the little keychains instead. It looks like this: (and you can also see the couple pins I picked up over the course of the trip too...notice they all have some sort of connection to the trip...so one might be a hint at something in a later update!)

up next: more World Showcase and dinner at Via Napoli!

Oh, you got the cute little keychain Duffy! I have been tempted to buy him for quite some time....

Very nice F&GF pics! Don't worry, you're not the only one scared of butterflies. My DBF is terrified of them  But don't tell him I told you that! It might hurt is ego....

Can't wait to hear about Via Napoli :goodvibes

Thanks for posting the story of Duffy, I had no idea where he came from, just that he was this new bear in WS and that kids could now color him on a stick at the kidcot stations

All of your flower pictures are just amazing. Disney really knows how to color things up don't they.
Kadence is afraid of every bug in the world,(she screams when she sees an ant crawling) so butterfly house may be out for her. I would love to take phots in there.

Butterflies are very creepy. I never go in the butterfly house with all of them flying around loose.:scared1:

I love seeing all the pictures from the F&G Festival. I thought the festival was really pretty this year.

Beautiful F & GF pictures. I am just obsessed with those topiaries, haha. I think your Duffy picture came out so cute, it's definitely frame worthy!

Nice monorail shot :thumbsup2 I like the reflection in the water.

It's considered good luck for a butterfly to land you so keep that in mind next time it starts to freak you out :)

Isn't Duffy adorable?! I love him!

Nice update :)
