Finally, I am starting my MTR for this past weekend. The plan was to get Jacob to school on Friday morning, drop the truck off for some new front brakes, eat breakfast, swing by Wal-Mart, swing by comic book store (I've said JS is a geek), pick up truck, load truck and take dogs to kennel and then pick up Jacob and be on the Interstate by 2:30pm. That was the plan.
We got Jacob to school, the truck in the shop, ate breakfast at the Village Inn (a chain like Denny's but I wasn't impressed at all, not that Denny's is too impressive. Guess we will stick with Waffle House next time.) Made it to Wal-Mart where they goofed the pricing on Jacob's prescription. I had a card to get it for free, or it should have been a $22 copay, the clerk tells me $78.

So, get that straight and I walk out with my free prescription. Drive to comic book store across town and they don't open until Noon, so head back to pick up truck.
Wait a minute, truck is still on the rack without wheels on it.

Not a good sign. Sure enough, I left our home number because I thought we would be home sooner, they had tried to call me. There was a problem with the caliburs on the right side.

I had the thing at Goodyear the week before getting the tires rotated, they pointed out I needed new brakes, but never said anything about the calibers. So I am thinking this place, that was cheaper, was trying to rip me off.

JS comes in and looks and says it has to be done.
So, JS and I head back to the house, finish packing and wait for the truck to be ready. Finally I call and they say it will be ready soon, so we pick up Jacob from school. JS drops me off to pick up the truck. $868 later I have a truck. So much for having a really good time at WDW!
Get the dogs to the kennel. We couldn't do this in JS's Mustang because the dogs are not allowed near it. Finally, on the road by 4:00pm. I had originally planned on eating at Zaxby's for a late lunch/early dinner (didn't want to waste precious Disney time), but JS said we should just stop at a McDonald's on the way and eat in the truck. So we find one on I4 and wait, and wait. I could have had Zaxby's as long as this took.
Back on the road. Ok, we make it to WDW. It had already been a stressful day and I didn't really know where I was going because I didn't really research the ASMu. JS isn't helping me because he is listening to his Ipod and getting mad if I speak to him interrupting his audio book.

So I am a little freaked about if we are going the right way, I didn't realize all three All Star resorts were together. But we made it and get checked in. The CM was really nice and we had a good little talk about surprise brake expenses for cars.
Ok, here is where I turned really stupid. We were to be in room 8527 at Broadway, building 8. So we drive around and finally find a building 8. But it says Fantasia, so I pull over and park. See how stupid I have just turned. We get out and look for our room. They are all 8700-8800. We even asked a CM and he was no help. Finally I call the front desk, get put on hold. Another CM comes on and I tell her our problem, I get put on hold again. Finally, it clicks. Wait a minute, Fantasia is a movie, wait there is Herbie, a movie. Oh man, we are at AS Movies. Ok, now I can laugh. I tell JS the problem. So back in the truck. We drive around in circles and finally figure out where we should have turned. Of course, this is after JS is saying I must have checked in at the wrong hotel. I explain how they all look alike with the big star on the front and that I did check in at the correct one.
So, as Jacob and I take the elevator and JS takes the stairs, Jacob tells me, "Don't worry about it, I'm sure others have done it." I just cracked up. I figure the whole reason I was put on hold by the front desk is because they were laughing so hard at me. I wonder if they are still laughing at me. I need to find that Embarassing Moment thread and post this on it.
Ok, find our room. It wasn't too bad. We had previously only stayed at POR. This was smaller, but I didn't think it was too bad. After about 5 minutes, JS states, "This is ok for a night, but not for a whole week!"
So, it is now almost 6:00pm.
MNSSHP is getting ready to start. I had planned on being at the park at 4:00pm. Oh well. So we get dressed and head out.
Here are some pics as we strolled over to the bus stop.
The view from our door.
I didn't think it was too bad. I actually thought there wouldn't be any greenery.
Our window:
The Clifford and Snoopy are Jacobs. Loved the little towel animals that were in every window. Also, we had a towel MH, but Jacob messed it up before I could get pics.
The pathway to the buses:
We finally found the way to the buses, I was a little disappointed with the signage there at the AS Mu. Now, there were two girls dressed up and I wish I had gotten their pics. One was from Hocus Pocus, fantastic costume. And I can't remember who the other was, looked like Dorothy, but was reading a book. I'll ask JS, he figured it out. We didn't have a long wait for the bus though, so that was good.
Next update, MNSSHP!!!
