That's it, moved to FL to be closer to Mickey! Update 2/4 Kidnapped at WDW 10/03/09

Was there anything else on Carribbean Cay other than the canons, some hammocks, and some benches?
We skipped that last time and I'm wondering what we missed.
And the kids LOVED the new pool at Old Port Royale as well as the kiddie pool...

Gosh - that water looked so smooth! And the turtles were really neat. :thumbsup2 I wonder what kind they were.

Your close up shots of the flowers were gorgeous. :goodvibes

Thanks for the tour! Looks like a wonderful resort.

There's still some more to come, Smugmug got slow and I gave up in the middle of one more post. Sorry, should have edited and stated I'd have more. Glad you liked the pics.

I took pics of everything on Carribean Cay, so you didn't miss anything else. Not really for kids, seemed more like an adult area to hang out.:goodvibes

That pool at Old Port Royale was great. Wish they understood some older kids would like to enjoy the things they put in kiddie areas.

The morning of the pirate cruise, Jonas and I ate breakfast at the food court.

This is the food court area:

To the right are all of the different food booths and the left is the sitting area. Since POR is our favorite resort, we spent the entire weekend comparing POR and CBR. As far as the food court, we enjoyed the one at POR much better. The food was the same, but I found the setup on this one really odd. At POR the food serving area is in the corner, where this one is that long hallway, you have to cross over to the sitting area to pay, then once you pay, the area where you get drinks, condiments etc. is right there and honestly we found it in the way. Another complaint we had was there wasn't enough tables. I had wondered why the sit down restaurant was only open for dinner, well turns out they use that area for sitting during the day. We finally figured this out when we realized this one door was open, but then there was a table right there with people sitting in it and you had to squeeze by. At one point Jonas had to get something else and when he walked back through the door, this woman stated she was going to shut the door, which Jonas responded, "Then you'll just get hit with the door." He was a little miffed with her attitude, which, if her party had walked a little further like we did, they would have found an entire room with empty tables. We thought that was funny. Plus we had an amazing view of the water. I thought I took pics, but can't find them.

After eating we went through their shop:

Sorry for the pic being so dark. I found it really strange that when you walk in the door from the pool area, you walk directly into the shoppe and then it also continues on to another room. I like the one at POR much better.

Also noticed the arcade is smaller at CBR than at POR.

And here is the Conceirge Desk:

It was right next to the little shoppe area. The whole building just seemed really crowded, guess I expected much bigger since this resort is bigger than POR.

Well, that is it for all my pics. CBR really is a nice, beautiful resort, but I guess we are more of the Southern Mansion folk, not Caribbean people. I would stay at CBR again, but not sure Jonas would.

Well that is it for this MTR and honestly I am thinking about the end of this TR. I'm going to do a couple of short reports and I am going to do a report of Thanksgiving with my Mom, but think I will start a separate report for that. So, there will be a few more updates to come, I sure appreciate everyone still reading!:goodvibes

Have a great weekend!!!

Yes, you saw that correctly, I was kidnapped at WDW. The day was Saturday, 10/3/09. Coached Jacob's soccer game and then hopped in the truck to head to WDW to meet my friend DFD, remember I previously spent July 5th with her at DHS when it was so empty. We are going to call her Duck this time. She was at WDW again and had a seat available at 1:00pm for 50's Prime Time. Well, I couldn't resist 50's Primetime and I wanted to see my friend.

I didn't want to wear my lovely read shirt with "COACH" written across the back to WDW, so I stopped at a rest stop on the way and changed shirts. While there I stopped to text Duck that I was on my way and where at DHS did we want to meet. Back on I4, Duck texts me back that they are now at Epcot eating at Four Seasons. So I head to Epcot. Get in the parking lot and try calling, but no answer.

I send a text and finally when on the tram, Duck calls me back and says they are still at Four Seasons, I ask if they have time for me to eat since I am starving, no breakfast since I thought I was getting 50's Primetime. So I grab me a plate and then find Duck and her friends. They have to make room for me, but I squeeze in. So, the only person at this table I know is Duck. There are 3 other ladies and they all seem really nice. This one, Rebecca, asks what my plans are and next thing I know, she is planning on me drinking with them and staying overnight in the Duck's room.

We first head over to Soarin' because one of the ladies has one of the passes to bypass the line, I can't believe the name of it slips my mind right now. They weren't sure where we needed to go and then I guess we accidently cut in the group of people waiting to go in the FP line. The lady we are with gets upset about some of the comments made and we decide not to ride. So, we end up saying goodbye to two of the ladies and then are off. Duck and Rebecca need more alcohol for the weekend and some other groceries. I offer to drive since my car is there.

They point out the way to this really nice grocery store. Can't remember the name, but it was carpeted, which seemed really strange. Also, it actually had a little wine cellar...ok it was a walk-in fridge, but most grocery stores don't have that.

They didn't have the alcohol they were specifically looking for, but we found other stuff. I also got excited because next to the grocery store was a TGIFriday's. Hmmm, know where we can have lunch now when we don't want to eat at the parks.

So from there we go to Duck's home, SSR. My first time to check out one of the DVC rooms. It was alright, but with the little kitchen area seemed very small to me. She had a fantastic view though, right out her french doors was the water area at DTD and Cirque Du Soleil. Sorry, forgot to get a pic. Some other people showed up that Rebecca was spending the weekend with. Very nice people and I had to laugh when the lady, Christi I believe, mentioned that she loved WDW, but wasn't a big Disney fan. I am the same way. Don't get me wrong, I do love Disney, but don't make it a point to see every movie or own them.

About this time the alcohol comes out. Along with some snack trays. Now, Duck had made these things:

Basically Jello Shots, but placed inside oranges. I have to say I  them. I have to try making them for our next party.

I think I also had a Margarita. At one point I realized I was sitting in a room with my friend Duck and four other people I didn't really know, drinking alcohol. :scared1: This wasn't me at all. But, it was all good, they were all very nice Disney people.:goodvibes

Rebecca and her friends need to go check in at their resort, so Duck and I headed to DHS. Quick pic walking from her room to bus stop:

The performers were out:

Now, remember the last time Duck and I went to DHS, no crowds. Well check this out:

This wasn't 9:00am or anything, this was about 3:00pm. Duck and I at this point decided we were each others lucky charms.

So, anyone guess where we were heading, ToT of course. One of our favorite rides, think we rode it 3 times last time we were together. How often do you see this:

Absolutely no one was in line. If you don't believe me, check out this shot:

I took it after sitting down, we weren't the only ones, there were three other people in the car with us:

And why do people keep staring at me taking pics while on this ride.:confused3

Actually, while waiting to get on the elevator we were all jumping around on the numbers trying to figure where to sit. Row 1, no, Row 6. The CM did tell us we could ride where ever we wanted. Now that I think about it, we should have split up with one in each corner or something. That would have been a great ride photo.

After our ride, I stopped to grab some pics I never take the time to get. Just outside the shop, anyone ever notice this staircase?

Guess what we did next...well of course we rode again:

Darn it, a few people had figured out there was no wait. Still was a walk on though.

From there we headed over to RnRC. They were having a problem we realized when we saw no one getting on the cars. The trains kept coming around with the harnesses down, finally one came around with the harnesses up and the whole room erupted in applause. We knew what that meant, we were going to get to ride.

I didn't have my camera bag this time, had only brought my camera. So I slipped it into the little storage bag, which Duck then asked "Sure it won't fall out?" Ok, hadn't thought about it until she said that, so I then proceeded to place my foot on top of the storage area, that was a comfortable ride. But here is a pic (camera did make it):

Since there still wasn't much of a line, we rode again. Got front car this time:

Now, Duck had dinner plans for Le Cellier, but she actually didn't want to go. It was decided that she would still go and I would have dinner with Rebecca and her friends over at the Boardwalk. Duck and I were running late. We finally made it to the Boardwalk by boat and Duck switched to head to Epcot. And I went with Rebecca to have dinner.

That is Kyle, Trevor, and Christa (I think I said Christie earlier, but do believe it is Christa) there on the right heading towards us.

While at dinner I tried another Margarita. It was about 7:00pm I believe. I can't remember what the name of the restaurant was, may have been the alcohol.:rolleyes1

While eating we were getting texts from Duck that they were still waiting to be seated and she was upset that she went. We were then going to go to the Karoke bar, but it was too loud for Christa so we decided to head to MK. Christa and Trevor headed for their car and Kyle, Rebecca and I hopped on the bus. I had fun getting to know some other amusement park freaks like myself and we had a good time laughing at Rebecca's Iphone. She had changed to a dress, no pockets, so she was slipping her phone down the side of her dress and every time she got a message or text, she lit up.:rotfl:

I'll continue with our antics at MK later. And do I and Duck continue to be each others lucky charms?

Who are you, and what did you do with my BFF?? :lmao:

Wow...this is a wild TR! I can't imagine myself just jumping around with people I don't know, but it sounds like fun!

Sounds like a wild time!

It was fun, and to be able to be with adults was great also.

I knew Vickie would understand that this is not the normal me. But so far everyone I have met has been just wonderful.

My lucky charm!!! I didn't know you were still reading my TR.

Me too! Think I am going to miss you on the next one though. Jonas' trip has been delayed a week or so, now he will be home and I probably can't talk him into going.:sad2:

ok... since it is heart's day I think it is just proper for you to stay home... am sure going to miss you and Jacob though... We will be in China celebrating Chinese New Year that Sunday :)

What a fun installment!! Sounds like you had a blast. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear how you spent the rest of the time.

I also feel like I'm a WDW fan, but Disney itself - not so much. That's why it took me so long to convince myself to go to Disney World. I just didn't think I'd be that into it since we weren't huge Disney fans. I do think we love Disney more now than we did in the past, but it's all to do with WDW.

I never wanted to go to WDW when I was kid. I know, I was a weird child.

I will have another update up this week.:goodvibes

We finally made it to MK. I believe we were still waiting on the Duck and others, so we decided to ride the TTA. One of my favorites. This was right after it reopened from the Space Mountain refurb. Space Mountain still wasn't open, but they had the lights on:

We all discussed how disappointed we were that the "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow" wasn't in the script anymore.:sad1: Then we heard from Duck, so we met up with them and then rode TTA again. Got about the same pics so I won't post them again.

One of the new friends had one of the passes to bypass lines, so we used it to ride BTMRR. Great ride as usual. And from there we rode Splash Mountain.

Rebecca was worried about my camera, so they stuck me and Duck up front so I could slide it into the little cavity at the front of the log. I told them I wasn't too worried about it, between the floater policy on my homeowners and the plan at Best Buy, it was covered. We were enjoying our ride, still my favorite in all of the parks. When all of the sudden we stopped. Ok, this happens all the time. But then the lights came on. Ok, this doesn't happen very often. The camera came out at this point.

Just to give you an idea of where we were:

They were leaving us hanging, yup little drop coming our way.

And here was my kidnappers:

Sadly, I don't have the Duck's picture. Hmmm, must meet up again to get more pics of the Duck!!!!

Then I realized that since we were stopped with no chance of moving anytime soon, I could snap this pic:

I love this one so much more though:

Finally the lights went off and we were on our way again:

It was a great ride, only one little problem, actually one big problem. We got soaked and I mean soaked. Duck and I started screaming about our lucky charms not being so lucky anymore.:sad2: It wasn't just a couple of us either, it was all of us.:scared1:

After that, it was time for the park to close so we headed out. I wish this picture wasn't so blurry because I think it would have been great.

After this I decided that since it was Midnight and I had not had a drink in 5 hours and that was with dinner I would be ok to drive home. I had parked at SSR, so Duck and I hoped on a bus after saying goodbye to everyone else. Once at the resort I hoped in the truck in headed home. I felt bad leaving Duck by herself. But I know she a great time on the rest of her trip. Even threw a BBQ, which I have to attend one some time.

Over all, I had a great time and met some really nice people that are just as crazy as the rest of us. I hope to see them all again!!!

I wish I was familiar with the "Paging Mr. Morrow" bit -- I don't remember anything like that.

I am so ready to ride Space Mountain -- I hope you don't post about it or show pics until we go. :) That's selfish of me, but those pictures you took just made me want to go more -- so excited!!!

I like your moon pic, too. :goodvibes

Paging Mr. Tom Morrow could be heard after leaving Space Mountain, past CoP and right there at Buzz. A lot of people have complained of the change. Just a little Disney magic gone.

I may post a pic or two, but doesn't really show anything. Not much to see once you are on the ride.

Thank you about the moon pic. I am finally starting to get an eye for shots, just need to take my time and get some more camera skills.

 I would be scared too... the plotters ^ !!!:rolleyes1

Wow, I haven't been out here since 2/11. Well, I have decided to officially close this TR. I currently have two overnight trips planned, one in June and one in July, I may start a PTR for them, but not sure. Vickie has her's going, which I am a part of that trip.

I wanted to thank everyone for joining me on this crazy adventure. Some of you have been with me for the PTR for that trip back in 2008 and stayed with me the whole time. I have been very lucky to meet some of you in person and hope to meet many more.

If you aren't already a friend on facebook with me and would like to be, please just send me a PM.

This has been really fun!:goodvibes
