Ok, now it is about 10:30 and we are stuck in the airport until 1:15pm. I kept thinking about how we could have hit at least one park for an hour or two. JS kept thinking about all of the sleep he missed.
The gate area was packed because all planes were delayed, so the only place we could find to sit was on the floor, so we got comfortable.
I decided to give my Mom a call. I figured she might surprise us and go get the dogs from the kennel. She had planned on doing it, but I told her not to just in case we don't make it in at all that night. She told me that they had been to Schlitterbahn (the best water park in the world in my opinion) the day before and had made a point to be back in time to get my dogs.

I felt so bad.

Now, I must tell you about my mother because if I keep this TR going she will become a part of it. She is the reason I love amusement parks. We went to Six Flags Over Texas every year while I was growing up. Actually, these last 5 years of living back in San Angelo, we went also. I can't wait to take her to WDW. Her and my stepdad went to WDW one time without me.
This is how crazy Mom is, she said they were at Schlitterbahn before the park opened, second in line, and they ran up the stairs to get to Master Blaster (a water coaster like Crush N Gusher, but in my opinion, a much better slide). This is a woman almost 60 years old, but she acts like a kid when it comes to amusement parks.
Anyhoo, so get off the phone with Mom. Try to read my Disney books, but the mind is racing about the offers on the house, what are they????
Look up at the boards and now flight is delayed until 1:45pm.

We set up the laptop for Jacob to watch an Indiana Jones movie that we purchased while at Tampa.
I gave up and got a burger at Burger King. I was starving. Finally the flight to Miami boarded so we could sit down in a seat. (We were trying to figure out why so many people fly to Miami instead of driving?)
Finally they start to board us.

We will still make our connecting flight in DFW. Just as they are about to close the door on the plane, the storms close in and there is lightning, so we aren't going anywere. They say it will be at least 30 minutes.Another

.
Now, I do have to compliment the crew on this flight. They went ahead and gave us drinks and told us we would be watching Penelope. Normally this flight doesn't have a movie, but since we have been delayed so much, they were doing this for us.
Then the flight attendant announces, "if the monitors show the weather for Los Angelos, don't panic, we are going to DFW. This plane was originally scheduled for LA, but was pulled due to another plane having mechanical problems." We all started laughing and sure enough, right after she made this statement, the monitors started showing us flying to LA and the weather in LA.
Finally we got to take off.

JS and I check our watches and realize there is no way we are making the connecting flight.

We watch Penelope, which I really enjoyed. The one good thing of the whole day!
Just as we are getting ready to land in DFW, they announce the gates for all connecting flights. San Angelo, departing 4:45 at gate such and such. We just look at each other because it is 4:55! In a second the flight attendant comes back on and apologizes because she realized our flight was already gone. The really bad part about this was it was originally suppose to leave DFW at 3:30, so it was delayed also. Just not long enough for us.
So, finally off the plane. We go and find a flight attendant and she gets us booked for the 9:15 flight. Last flight of the night.
Now, have any of you watched "Airline". I know I have seen the following happen on that show. While the agent is working on us, this college age girl comes up to the other agent and asks about her flight. He tells her it left 10 minutes ago. She says she was sitting at the next gate (it had changed gates). He asked her name, and she told him. He nodded his head and said he had paged her at least 10 times. She didn't hear it. I held back my laughter until we walked away, but how do you do this. I guess I worry to much because I constantly check to make sure the gate hasn't changed or anything. Poor girl.
So, we now have several hours to wait. We saw a TGIFridays and decided to go eat. We both love their Jack Daniels Ribs. Of course, Jacob still wouldn't eat. One day that boy is going to realize all of the good tastes he has missed. After eating we went to the USO Club and hung out. I looked at WDW photos on the laptop. Jonas sat down and watched a movie. Jacob played with a Foos Ball Table.
Eventually we head down to our gate. There is a whole group of college students just back from their trip to Italy. I thought that was cool, as one of my friends was getting ready to go to Germany for a month. Ok, I thought they were cool until we got on the plane and had to deal with them at the airport in San Angelo.

First, two girls have our seats. JS tells me to sit behind them with Jacob and he sits across from them. As we get seated on the plane, they announce they are going to wait for some passengers that their flight was late, but since it was the last flight to San Angelo, they decided to wait for them.

Oh well, guess it was nice of them. Funny thing was, one was a big time attorney in my home town. We were now in their seats. I told his wife that the two girls were in ours, she saw I had Jacob and said they would find seats elsewhere.

I thought that was very nice of her. Oh, then the two girls in our seats are listening to an Ipod. The attendant tells them to turn it off. They put it up, only to pull it back out before we take off. I wanted to thump them upside the head at this point. If this plane goes down because of them.....
Finally, we were off. Landed in San Angelo, about 10:00. Now, the college kids had been gone for 3 weeks. Every member of their families and all of their friends met them at the airport. Now, San Angelo has a very small airport, so getting through all of them was a pain. Then trying to get through them so we could get our baggage. Then, everyone has parked in the 30 minute parking spaces, so all that is left is those in the very back. JS grabs the keys to the truck, pulls it right up front and loads the luggage. The whole way home he was complaining about how they had only been away for 3 weeks. I had to remind him that it was probably the first International trip for most of them and how their families were just excited for them.
Finally we got home. The house is freezing. When they did the open house while we were gone, they forgot to turn the temp back up, so it had been sitting at 68 for a whole week.

We unloaded the truck and went to bed.
Got up the next morning, met the realtor, picked an offer and that wa it. We went to Florida, bought a house, went to WDW, and sold a house.
So, that is it. Finally, almost two months later, this TR is complete. Thank you everyone for joining in. I do plan on keeping this open and posting MTR's, so I guess the next one will be for the trip Sept 26 to
MNSSHP!!! Unless I can get JS to go some other time before. I wouldn't mind doing so.
