Hi everyone! My wedding is coming up in about 3 months and I have been thinking lately that my wedding is pretty standard. Since we are able to have it at Disney World I am looking to have that one special touch that everyone will remember. There problem is are budget is pretty tight as it is. Basically I was wondering if people could post what they did or are doing for that special touch? Also for those that already had their wedding what is the once thing that you couldn't have done without and everyone was really impressed with? Thanks for your help! :)

Don't overlook the fact that you're having your wedding at Disney - that's a pretty special touch right there. People aren't likely to forget that!

I have barely even begun to think about specific plans, but I do know that I want to have a basket of baked goodies or nice toiletries made up for each of my guest's rooms. I may even give a copy of "Hidden Mickeys" to everyone, cause it's a fun thing to look out for in the parks.

Don't worry I haven't forgotten that!! I am looking for a special touch to add to the fact that the wedding is at Disney World. That is a good idea about putting something in the guest rooms.

Our special touch will be the wishes cruise for everyone. I know this is not possible with most custom weddings, but it is perfect for our party of 16! This is one thing we decided to pay for without the help of my parents.

We are also doing the welcome baskets. What a great surprise that will be for our guests!

I thought the cruises could olnly hold a small amount of people, like 10 or 13...I can't remember where I read that. Have you already booked yours? I have about 15 people who I would LOVE to take on a wishes cruise so if they can hold that many I'd be really thrilled!!!

I thought the same also about the number of people. Maybe she booked two boats (not sure if that is possible).

i agree having a wedding in disney and seeing how top notch the weddings are will be special enough. But if you are looking for something else...there are options.

less expensive would be the welcoem bags...maybe a cruise ride as mentioned

more expensive options are: special desserts...are you custom or intimate wedding?

characters at wedding
major domo at ceremony
enlgish butler
carriage or special car

Looking back on our wedding I guess the one thing i was so glad we added was out ice slipper sorbet. it was a suprise and everyone was in shock

Haha...yes, I am sorry I didn't make that clear! We are getting 2 boats. They do hold 10-13 people each. We were going to do us and our families on one and the wedding party/friends on the other. We haven't booked yet...have to wait until May 22nd! I am with you, I wish they had boats that held more! I guess we could get everyone out on the ferry at JUST the right moment...:boat:

Just a few ideas. There are lots of activities that you can plan that don't add a lot of cost. I know some people are invited their guests to a welcome party at the campfire and movie at Fort Wilderness- which is free. My DF and I are paying for the hayride at Fort Wilderness to coincide with Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. We have enough to fill an entire wagon of 35, so we are renting it out, but for smaller groups you can pay to go on the wagon with other WDW guests. The cost per person is $10. We are also doing a bridal tea for the women, which starts at around $12 per person which isn't very much.

The Wishes cruise in pontoon boats only holds 10. I'm 100% sure of that. I have 21 passengers, so Disney told me I needed to charter three boats ($900 for three Celebration Cruises). Instead, I decided to have one pontoon boat and the Grand 1 yacht, which holds 13. If anyone can't make it to my wedding for whatever reason, I'll be on the phone to Disney to downgrade back to two pontoon boats. That seems more fair if everyone is on the same type of boat.
