That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

Are you taking votes?
If you are, I vote for the Flirting for Mickeys (my paraphrase).
You saw me kidnap my sis on my PTR. I'm thinking now that flirting might have been easier. :confused3
Silly me----forgetting my powers of feminine persuasion again! :flower3:

I'm going the same time as you! We're doing many of the same things, just a little off.

Maybe we'll bump into each other! And "just a little off" is also a good catchphrase for describing me and Melissa. LOL!

Oh, and my DH would love to go drinking with you girls. I'm old (29!) and have a child and am "no fun" anymore :rotfl: !

Ok, I'll be 29 this year. IT IS NOT OLD. 29 is the new 16. Didn't you get the memo? Perhaps you should trade off stroller duty with the DH and YOU can come drinkin' round the world with us.

But, seriously, it would be cool to say hello.

That whole great minds thing...I also should mention I am a Libra as well...what else can we find in common? :thumbsup2

Silly me----forgetting my powers of feminine persuasion again! :flower3:

I'm going to try to pick them up this weekend. Men simply can't resist long, voluminous batting eyelashes and a coy smile. He'll be mesmerized and I'll be pilfering MHs like they're the new currency.

Unless, of course, he's a she. Then I have to move to Plan B: Grab, Cut and Run.

yeah so i love your writing! every post i read i crack up! i'm def subbing. keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Hey there! And thanks! And welcome! We're having a fun little partay here on the PTR thread o' mine. I love to hear back from my readers. :yay:

Subscribing. I'm on page 3 and LOVING your writing style!! :lovestruc It's gonna be hard reading your pre-TR and keeping up with the others I'm subscribed to at the same time

I am also going to WDW in September. But the week before you. We leave the day you arrive. Bummer!

A lot of your pre-TR already has given me some chills and smiles and good feelings. :goodvibes We share quite a few similarities....I especially love shoes as well. :thumbsup2

I can't believe your boyfriend doesn't love disney because he's been there "too many times"!! I went at least once a summer with my grandmother every year growing up and I still can't get enough. Some guys are so weird.

Anyways, I will have to come back and catch up the rest of the way later but I'm really looking forward to following along with this Pre-TR :yay:

Howdy-ho neighbors.

Sorry about the non-updates the past day or so; it's all I can do to stay caught up on my DIS subscriptions.

Work has me buried somewhere in the 9th circle of Dante's Inferno and the amount of research-methods-related-carp I have to study for Tuesday's exam has me about to go Camp Crystal Lake on someone.

However, on a happier-trip-planning-Disney-related-note, I'm definitely going to be liberating some Mickey Heads from HD this weekend. Tomorrow morning to be exact.

(Commence James Bond theme music.)

The plan actually has three very important pieces:
1. Arrive close to opening to pilfer said heads. (I have to be up early anyway to pick up my godson from his grandmother's so that he can spend the day with the best Dina in the whole wide world. And World.

2. Casually "browse" the other paint chips and take samples from there as well, rather than to only hoard MHs like my BF hoards Cadbury Mini Eggs on Clearance at CVS the day after Easter.

3. Ask a question if approached and mention off-hand that I will be decorating my kids' bedrooms, bathrooms and their playroom. NO! That is NOT an out-and-out lie! I MIGHT have kids someday who MIGHT have bedrooms. And a bathroom. And a playroom. Someday.

The goal is to sneak out of there with as many heads as I can, in as many colors as I can grab, without being tackled somewhere around the hot water heaters.

(James Bond music fades into the music of DOOM.)

But...

I think this is the time when I should probably make a pretty serious admission to all y'all.

::sigh::

I don't like the LIME. Really. Not a fan. I will not be sporting LGMHs all over the World. LGMHs will not adorn my window. And you have a better chance of seeing George Bush as the winning celebrity guest on Jeopardy! than you do of catching me in a pair of lime green Crocs.

Or any Crocs for that matter, but that's a discussion for another chapter altogether.

The DIS could've picked any other color and I probably would've been content. But lime's just not me (kind of washes me out.)

So anywho, after tomorrow's foray into HD, there will still be plenty of LGMHs for DISers other DISers in my hometown.

So that's that. If you care to abandon my PTR due to my blatant dislike for the patron color of the DIS, I understand. Ok, really, I don't and will likely call you petty behind your back, but seriously, how are you going to know that?

Ok, I'm going to go and emotionally overeat for lunch. That's how I've been dealing with stress this week. So, for lunch, I'm going to eat a meatball sub with provolone. In my white turtleneck sweater. Given how the rest of my day has gone, I can already see the outcome of this foray into the world of messy-as-all-get-out sammiches.

:flower3:

*GASP* oh no! :scared1: you don't like lime green! you are forever banished from the DISboards!

haha i love lime green (it's the color of my car) but i'm SOOO not fond of crocs. actually i can't stand them so i agree with you there.

meatball subs are amazing! almost better than sausage, peppers, and provolone...almost.:rotfl:

I feel so not in with the cool kids, as far as I'm aware we don't have MH paint chips in the UK, Lime greenor otherwise:sad1: but we do have meatball subs and Cadbury's mini eggs:cool1: ...someone please explain to me why it is on the morning that I start a diet I can stuff giant chocolate buttons down my throat as though it were an olympic sport:confused:

::sigh::

I don't like the LIME. :

:surfweb: Was that LIME green koolaid that spurted from my noise just now? You don't like it????? Not even a little? That's gonna cost you missie..I think you should get a SET of t-shirts in misc colors that say, "I don't do Lime green but I do Dis." That way you can be recognized wherever you go and take some little cards with the link to your trip report so you can collect followers.

So, what are you going to do with all the MHs once you help them escape to freedom??? Can't wait to find out!!!

How was the meatball sub? That sounds pretty good!!! How did your white turtleneck fare?

Subscribing. I'm on page 3 and LOVING your writing style!!

Welcome and thanks!

It's gonna be hard reading your pre-TR and keeping up with the others I'm subscribed to at the same time

I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with my pre-TR with the others I'm subscribed to at the same time.

I am also going to WDW in September. But the week before you. We leave the day you arrive. Bummer!

Total bummer. That's it. Change your dates.

Okay, that is worthy of writing down somewhere!!!

Think they're still selling those bricks in the Walk Around the World in front of the MK?

i love lime green (it's the color of my car)

You are very brave, my friend. Very brave.

I feel so not in with the cool kids, as far as I'm aware we don't have MH paint chips in the UK

PM me your address and I'll "borrow" some extra ones, just for you and your princesses!

someone please explain to me why it is on the morning that I start a diet I can stuff giant chocolate buttons down my throat as though it were an olympic sport:confused:

For the same reason that the diet I was supposed to start yesterday, I will be starting tomorrow.

:surfweb: Was that LIME green koolaid that spurted from my noise just now?

Now THAT's a visual.

You don't like it????? Not even a little?

:sad2:

I think you should get a SET of t-shirts in misc colors that say, "I don't do Lime green but I do Dis." That way you can be recognized wherever you go and take some little cards with the link to your trip report so you can collect followers.

If only I thought people would be THAT interested in reading my trippie! LOL But I love the idea of self-marketing.

So, what are you going to do with all the MHs once you help them escape to freedom???

Some scrapbooking, card making, countdown calendar constructing. You know, the usual things that mouse-shaped paint chips are used for.

How was the meatball sub?

Not as good as the Chinese for dinner. See?! I said I was stress eating. Today was the last day, though, that's for sure. I'm so bloated and oversalted. Intravenous fluids, anyone?

How did your white turtleneck fare?

It's still white! :goodvibes

Your trip report is hysterical!!!! You are a very talented writer. Add me to the list of not-using-the-education-that-I-paid-the-equivalent-of-the-GNP-of-a-third-world-nation-for. My business degree + some credits toward an MBA are not being used as I am a baker. Not a butcher or a candle stick maker but a baker in a kitchen.

We will be arriving in WDW after you have graced it with your presence - October 19-25 and will be staying in the GF. HOWEVER, you can bet your favorite pair of shoes that we WILL be having breakfast in the POLY and I WILL be having Tonga Toast. I have not yet had a Dole Whip or the Cheddar Soup but will put it on my (very long) list of things to try this trip!!!

Love this PTR!!!

Let me put it this way, when we left PI at an early midnight-ish hour, convinced we were about to turn into pumpkins, we got on a bus for All Stars. We had to find our room (in the Rock Inn @ ASMu) by looking for the "giant tennis balls" when we got off at the wrong resort stop (ASSports) because my friend didn't want to have to "revisit" with her drinks on the bus. When we finally did find the room, I crawled into bed after hastily putting on my jammies (backwards) and she 1. almost locked herself out of the room and 2. spent the majority of the evening appreciating the tile work on the bathroom floor.

wait...I didn't know we went on vacation together.:rotfl: My last trip to PI was when I was in my 20's and fearless...aren't we all at that age. We were celebrating a friend's 21st birthday and spent EVERY night, yes that's 7 days in a row at PI. :drinking1 Our favorite was the Beach Party Club, which I am :sad:to hear is closing. By the end of the week, we were club regulars...it was like my own version of Cheers, instead of hearing "Norm!" it was "Jules!"

Like you finding our way back to our rooms at night was always an adventure. Since we were at CBR and it's so big, we must have walked by our hotel room several times each night. And I distinctly remember getting so fed up one night that we decided if we couldn't sleep, why not swim! Yes, we made an illegal late night swim and didn't get caught....

you have a better chance of seeing George Bush as the winning celebrity guest on Jeopardy! than you do of catching me in a pair of lime green Crocs.

:lmao: :rotfl:

This may be one of the funniest things I've heard in ages. I am happy to see we share the same views on Georgie Porgie and Crocs. Princess V and I were just talking about them on my PTR. I swear Crocs, at least the big clog kind, make me feel like a giant clown or at least a smurf on acid.

Just wanted to say loving your pretrip report and I too am making plans for WDW in September but havent settled on definite dates. Loving your creative and entertaining prose and looking forward to your next "edition"

You know if only that pesky thing called my part time job didn't get in the way, I would have been able to respond to the multitude of things we keep finding in common! I loved that you said 29 was the new sixteen, and identified with the poster who felt old because she has a kid. I'm thinking I may have to beg my DH to take stroller duty so I can run off with the cool kids and drink my way round Epcot! :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Well, I did discover something new about us...I am indeed, older...by five days! :rotfl:

Birth date: 10/09/79
Children: 1
Siblings: 1 (sister)
Favorite movies: in no particular order, Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast, POTC
Favorite WS pavilions, in order: Okay, this is almost to complicated for me to even contemplate right now...how can I pick a favorite when there are so many lovely things in each!
Favorite books: The Amelia Peabody series (I think you'd like these), Harry Potter series

And I had never intended to originally, but somehow your wit and charm has me admitting my real age on the DIS! :scared1:

But seriously, I am thinking that your Jack Sparrow mascot, and my Jack Sparrow trip action figure should have their very own DIS meet. Think of the possibilities...of all the fun photo ops...it could be very silly, no? :rotfl2:
