That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

Who is this psycho of which you speak that would stoop so low as to steal 142 Mickey Heads?
Someone needs to lock them up in HD jail for sure!

I made it out of the store with an upwards of 70-ish MHS...including a few lime green ones!!!

Very Impressive, James Bond would be proud of your stealth work. I on the other hand am not so brave, while I was "sampling" some of the HDMH's my DS kept asking, rather loudly why we needed them. I told him it was so we could pick out a color to paint his room..yes, it was a little white lie, but I couldn't tell him the real reason because the trip is a surprise. My answer must not have been good enough because he proceeded to get louder and say "I'm not painting my room THAT color" of course he was talking about lime green. Now it was time for lie #2, "That ones, not for your room."...which of course isn't really a lie, because it wasn't. But I had to think fast to tell him what room it was for....instead of struggling to come up with what room I would paintlime green I just said, "pick your favorite color" which for some reason was black and we headed for the door with just 5 HDMH's in tow...2 lime green, 1 black, 1 red, and 1 blue....next time I travel alone...no more sidekicks for me!

Hey Girlies, if I could get my hands on Gerard Butler he'd be fit for nothing :faint: by the time I was ready to ship him out to you:love1: . He realy didn't interest me until I had a very unusual dream in which he starred a few weeks ago  I must have been sub consiously lusting after him puckerup:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I read this or the monitor would have been sporting a whole new look.

I just ordered this from Paperbackswap. Looking forward to getting it. I'll have to give it priority when it comes in so that it doesn't end up on my bookshelves with the 37 other books I "need to read".

Read the first chapter and you won't be able to put it down.

I'm tempted, now, to pull out and watch our copy of 300 on repeat.
THIS IS SPARTA!!!!

Mmmmhmmmm...

Read the book. Still haven't seen the movie!

Colin Firth makes it all worthwhile! :thumbsup2

Alright, you cannot let that book sit on your shelf...trust me! It's too good. ;)

Yeah, what TarzansKat said! :)

I'm guessing you mean the letter? I don't know the rhyme or reason as to when or why it's sent. But if it's any help, my trip is in 5 months and 3 weeks and it's paid in full.

We are going in May (booked in Aug of 2007) and again in November (booked in Feb 2008), and we received our letters about a month after we initially booked our trip and paid the deposit. We had just received our Nov Trip Letter about 2 weeks ago. We did not receive anything after we paid our first trip in full. popcorn::

My wife is now asking me to return to our local HD to liberate more MH's. Time to go undercover.......again. pirate:

Ok. I promise to read it soon-ish after it arrives.

Gee, I don't know. But she's my hero! ;)

:lmao: Aren't kids grand?

The BF and I were picking up light bulbs from HD on Sunday (because in all of my nervous excitement during the MH extraction on Saturday I completely forgot to pick up something we legitimately needed). I "meandered" around the MHs once more (we WERE in a different HD, so there was no guilt) and I started to grab just a couple of colors I'd missed. And of course BF comes over and says loudly, "What are THOSE for?"

:sad2:

Aren't BFs grand?

Ooooh. She makes YOU do the dirty work. Your wife is a smart, smart woman. :thumbsup2

It's always best to go to HD solo so DH doesn't think you're crazy until you get home! :rolleyes1

Oh how I wish this method would work with the BF. Instead I imagine the conversation more along these lines:

ME: (whimpering lightly from my tomb of blankets on the couch) Oh honey. (more whimpering)
BF: (from his station on the OTHER side of the couch, you know, where the germs won't tread) What's wrong baby?
ME: (sniffle, sniffle) I'm dying. Really dying here. (commence crocodile tears)
BF: (giving in and cuddling me up) What can I do, baby? How can I make you feel better?
ME: (hitching breath) Anything?
BF: (almost imperceptible pause) Sure.
ME: A trip to Disney would make me all better. I'd surely live.
BF: (getting up off the couch and going to Purell himself) Oh. I was thinking more along the lines of Nyquil.

at least your bf offers to make you feel better. mine's with his friends enjoying the beautiful outside while i sit here and suffer. hey, more time to look on the DIS boards. ;)

Hello all.

Just checking in to let you know that I am, in fact, still breathing. Though barely.

After the massacre that was my Research Methods exam last night, I need a day or so to recuperate. And stop crying.

Yes, THAT bad.

:headache:  :crazy2: :faint: :scared:  :furious: :worried:

However, I'm hoping that this pre-trippie can be the life buoy of happiness to which I can cling. And hopefully it will carry me to the shore. Or at least keep me from sinking and re-enacting my very own "Finding Nemo".

I hope you are all having a superb week.

More to come. Soonish.

The fact that I'm crazy is hardly under contention with the BF. ;)

Sometimes the things they do that annoy us are truly blessings in disguise.

Cheer up honey:grouphug:

I'm trying. Life has been pouring down on me as of late and I can't find my darn umbrella. On another note, a "certain someone" should be receiving an international air mail package in 7-10 days, if the post office can be believed.

Oh, and for all of you who don't know, US stamps are increasing by a penny on May 1st. Again. :sad2: The nice post man advised me of that whilst I was purchasing Disney stamps today.

Two "valid" trip-related items worth noting...ok, actually one is an item, the other a question:

1. Dates have been announced for this years MNSSHP and my DTL continues as they are indeed having the party on 9/23. Thank goodness something has gone right in my universe. Tickets go on sale 5/1. Prices have not yet been announced.

2. I'd like to put links to each of the real chapters in my first post. I know how to do it so that it links to the page the chapter appears on, but I was thinking I'd like to do it so that the actual post pops up in a new window, sans our highly entertaining yet not altogether necessary between chapter banter. Alas, I don't know how. Can anyone help? I'm simply too lazy and too tired and trying to "get by" at work today so as not to be fired.

At least I'm honest. That's a virtue, right?

if you look in the top right corner of every post there is a post #. It is also a link. click that and the post will open in a new window. That is the link you need :thumbsup2

Hey, here's to you! :grouphug:

Hoping your week gets easier! :)

Hope the rest of the week starts looking better for you! At least it's hump day. Your halfway to the weekend.

and I followed it over. I'm so glad I did. I have really enjoyed your pre-trippie.

We are going in October for the kiddos' fall break. I was going to try to write a report about it and you are really making me want to start it as a pre-tripe (NOZZUB) report.

You had so many "quotable" lines, but I am sneaking to read this at work and will have to jump on that band wagon on another day.

Can't wait to read more!!!

I'm joining- late, let's just call it fashionably so, ok?

I don't like the LIME. Really. Not a fan. I will not be sporting LGMHs all over the World. LGMHs will not adorn my window. And you have a better chance of seeing George Bush as the winning celebrity guest on Jeopardy! than you do of catching me in a pair of lime green Crocs.
:thumbsup2 Hurray finally someone else who doesn't like lime. Why oh why is the DIS official color horrible, remind me of bad fashion from the 80's neon lime green?

:worship: You really do learn something new every day and I'm so glad to get it over with by 8am today!

Hey, here's to you! :grouphug:

Hoping your week gets easier! :)

Thanks for the pastel heads group hug. It makes me feel good. And slightly like a Skittle with a face.

The week is almost over. :grouphug: It will get better. Sweet Disney Dreams! pixiedust:

Ironically I haven't dreamt about Disney this week. I had a strange dream this morning in which the BF was trying to feed me turkey out of a bag. Don't ask. Because truthfully, I HAVE NO IDEA. I think my brain's trying to de-stress. Or thinks it's Thanksgiving. Either or.

Hope the rest of the week starts looking better for you! At least it's hump day. Your halfway to the weekend.

And now it's Thursday. Although twice today I've thought it was Friday. :headache:

For all of you well-wishers, thank you. The week has gotten better. Mostly because I'm pretending Tuesday night didn't happen, but it has improved.

I followed it over. I'm so glad I did.

Me too! We're having a pretty good time over here. And following my link is much easier than, say, following the yellow brick the road. And while this won't end with a wizard, there are certain days where I'm a witch wearing some pretty hot shoes.

Welcome!

I was going to try to write a report about it and you are really making me want to start it as a pre-tripe (NOZZUB) report.

Do it! Do it! (Yes, that be peer pressure you're feelin'.)
And ain't no one be writin' tripe like the Zubster.

You had so many "quotable" lines, but I am sneaking to read this at work and will have to jump on that band wagon on another day.

I DIS and work too. I could do it so much more effectively if there weren't dancing/laughing/rolling/angry/math-doing heads all over the right side of my screen.

I'm joining- late, let's just call it fashionably so, ok?

K. Ahem:

OH MY GOD! It's Chel! She's here everyone! I so knew you were coming and figured you'd gotten tied up in traffic on the Expressway. Is that bottle of wine for moi?

Why oh why is the DIS official color horrible, remind me of bad fashion from the 80's neon lime green?

Because apparently nobody consulted us first. WTH were they thinking? ;)

Hey y'all. I should be posting a Disney shoe-related update with (hopefully) some pictures by Saturday. Work has me kind of bogged down (and DISing doesn't help, but it's my most favoritest vice, so who could really say no to that?) and I have some school stuff to work on too.

My plans for Saturday include a therapy appointment, a nail appointment, a visit to Whole Foods, a visit to the University Library (bleh.), cleaning the pit we live in and an update to this here PTR. The BF is going out for the night with the boys to celebrate his brother's new job, so I should have ample time to write and take pictures without him asking what am I doing now, why am I taking pictures of shoes and GOD, don't I do enough stuff for Disney already?

Hmph. Non-Disney Jerky.

:flower3:

Great PTR. You're a great writer.

After I drove 2 and 1/2 hours this morning through I-95 traffic to arrive at a deposition that was supposed to go all day today and tomorrow and make me lots and lots of Disney spending money but that, in reality, was canceled due to a not-so-considerate attorney deciding he and his client weren't coming and not notifying anyone of his decision, I needed to have some laughs. (How is that for a run-on sentence?)

This was the perfect solution to my carppy day.

Thanks.:flower3:
