That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

Hey thanks! And welcome to the crazy train!

Donald is pretty cool. He's Campbell Scott's #1 too, I think. If you haven't already checked out her Meanest Stepmom trippie you should. She puts me to shame.

AND she has this wicked eyebrow arch that I'm trying to perfect. But not to use on stepkids. More for getting the BF to buy me shoes.

I see and have heard about a lot of people drinking some expensive concoction called "Ice Wine" (maybe?) in Canada, I think. I'd like to try that. And I was just warned away from Plum Wine on Princess V's TR.

The last time I was at PI with another friend, they had this great "refillable mug" type deal. Don't know if they still have it. It worked something like this:
You bought this nifty looking PI plastic cup (about pub pint sized) for $8 or $12 filled with some fruity alcohol drink. You could then refill the cup at a couple of different "alcoholic kiosks" for about $4-$5. Was it worth it, you ask?

Let me put it this way, when we left PI at an early midnight-ish hour, convinced we were about to turn into pumpkins, we got on a bus for All Stars. We had to find our room (in the Rock Inn @ ASMu) by looking for the "giant tennis balls" when we got off at the wrong resort stop (ASSports) because my friend didn't want to have to "revisit" with her drinks on the bus. When we finally did find the room, I crawled into bed after hastily putting on my jammies (backwards) and she 1. almost locked herself out of the room and 2. spent the majority of the evening appreciating the tile work on the bathroom floor.

Note to self...avoid refillable mugs of alcohol, stick with one serving sizes.

Check! :thumbsup2

Hey the plans so far sound excellent. The CS @ WL has THE BEST cinnamon rolls on the planet for breakfast...I still dream about them:cloud9: (yes I'm a very sad rubenesque person) just passing on a good tip for breakfast...ahem:rolleyes1

Subbing right now....Love your writing style and your screen name. Too funny. We'll be there during the time you will. I'll be by daily for a dose of your humor! Keep on writing!

Thanks for joining us and how cool you'll be navigating the World the same time we will. We almost picked the AKL but decided on the WL so that it would be a new resort to both of us.

I'm in some deep carp here then. Becuse I'm actually trying to search the Tampa airport to find out if it has a Cinnabon. Which we can't get up here. Which my hips are thankful and my tastebuds lament.

I think it's time to start a cinnamon roll piggy bank. Because 6 snack credits just won't do it.

Made for a good story at least. Now, whenever we're together and lost we say, "Just look for the giant tennis balls."

I was hoping to get the next chapter up. The outlook is grim. I've gotten NOTHING done today. For work or school. Because I've been DISing. And eating Smartfood.

But. You never know. Stranger things have happened.
Like the Giants winning the Superbowl.
And that's all I have to say about that. Because anything else I could say is decidedly un-Disney and would likely get this thread locked.

If not today, tomorrow, I promise!

Welcome back to six months from now. I hope you're still having a good time in my planning to be having a good time.

Or something like that.

So, moving on. I believe I finished up after writing about our neverending MK day on 9/23. Which is similar to a Neverending Story. But without Bastian. And the luck dragon. And certainly with a something other than a nothing.

And if you weren't a child in the 80's or if you didn't have children in the 80's, you might not get any of that. But if you did, trust me, the book was better than the movies. Do yourself a favor and go out and by a copy. The Neverending Story by Michael (I.T.*) Ende.

* I. T. = I Think

Is that a white rabbit I just followed down that rabbit hole?

Back to the task at hand:

9/24/08

After 14 some-odd hours at a magical kingdom with parents and all their magically sugared children, we're going to take it easy today. Again we'll be enjoying breakfast in the room (likely unfrosted strawberry Pop Tarts and, thanks to a Mama to 2 Adorable Scottish Princesses, a multitudinous amount of cinnamon rolls). We're going to head over to the AK for ten or sometime thereabouts. The plan is to spend the day with the AMINALS. Yayyy! Roaaaar! Oh, and to visit Melissa's boyfriend. He's oft misunderstood. And in desperate need of a shave and a bath and a toenail clipping. He can only be reached by train. Forward. And backward. I'm wildly excited about riding EE. It wasn't yet completed on my last trip and I've long since suffered through everyone's TRs saying "OHMYGODTHATWASTHEHIGHLIGHTOFMYENTIRELIFE!!!" AK's scheduled to have evening EMH but we won't be staying through to the end. We have a 6:00 p.m. ADR at the San Angel Inn over in Epicot.
And then it begins: The Drinkin' Tour Heard 'Round the World (Showcase).
More on that later. Suffice it to say it includes alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages. We're also hoping to find our way back to the WL at some point.

9/25/08
Today the plan is to do something I've never actually done while on a Disney vacation.
Relax.
After the previous night's festivities, we're both going to be in need of some quality time with our pillows (but will hopefully not need to become intimately acquainted with the WL bathrooms). Really, aside from dinner plans at Tutto Italia at 5:30 p.m. and possibly watching Illuminations, our only other plans are to chillax by the pool. Maybe rent some of those Sea Raycers. Or are the called Water Myce or something now? Whatever. The little boats that we'll likely take out and make fools of ourselves in.

9/26/08
Our last, full "Disney" day. I just threw up in my mouth a little. I'm already sad and it's not even here yet. We're going to go pretty easy and spend the day in Epicot. We might "escape" to the MK if there's anything we missed or want to ride again or if we just need a healthy dose of birth control. We're going to try Teppan Edo in Japan for dinner (and avoid the ginger dressing, thanks to ZZUB's Wallet Battle #4, was it?) and then, either stay to watch Illuminations if we missed it the night before or hit up PI for a visit to the AC or just a drinkin' dancin' rally. It depends on whether or not my liver has packed up and gone back to Massachusetts early.

9/27/08
Check out day. I don't want to talk about it.
Go away.
...
Ok. Come back.
We're planning to sleep late-ish and then meet Missy's sister for pick-up. We're going to head to DTD for a final Disney meal at the Rainforest Cafe. I've never been and while it wasn't high on my "Must Consume Mass Quantities at Said Establishment" list, Missy ate there last year and insisted we repeat the experience this year. After that, the plans are up in the air. It all depends on what Missy's sister and her fam are into doing. Perhaps we can do a late day visit to one of the parks with them so that we can properly abuse, ahem, use our tickets. Or perhaps will just head back up to Tampa for more relaxation.

9/28/08
Departure day. This one I refuse to talk about right now. We go home. I think you get it. Ugh.

It occurs to me now that I made an error in our itinerary for the MK day. A rather large error. A rather crucial error. An error that might result in the gnashing of DIS teeth and the wailing of DIS babies.
We are NOT eating breakfast in the room that day.
NosirreeTalulah.
We have ADRs. But not to dine with characters. Or at any royal tables. Oh no, my friends. I have a date with destiny.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., the pearly gates will open and will admit to to heaven. A heaven made up of banana-stuft, sugar-dipped, calorie-laden French Toast.
Yes. It is my inaugural experience with Tonga Toast.
I'm giddy with excitement.
(But don't tell the BF. He thinks he's the one making me giddy.)

Sweet Lord. Six months is too long to wait.
Think Amazon has any deals on a slightly used Continuum Tranfunctioner?

:flower3:

Reading your last chapter is making my mouth water...and oddly nostalgic for a misunderstood boy reading a fantastical story in which he mysteriously becomes involved...;)

Ah, Tonga Toast....my holy grail...I have yet to taste its gloriousness.

Ah, Teppan Edo...I too have read ZZub. :scared1:

And if all your wit and humor wasn't enough at the end you have to quote one of the best stupid funny movies I have ever seen! Continum transfuctioner, I wish it were true! :rotfl:

Hey Tink - I've been on here a long time but have never subscribed until now!

(okay - I never knew how before~)

Can't wait to hear how the rest of your planning goes. We'll be at VWL at the end of May if you need me to do any recon for you. Let me know!

I am excited about the AKL. It was not my pick however...but I was out voted by every single other person going. Can you believe it? I am sure I will love every minute of it because I always find fun in life... but I wouldn't mind being able to see that castle from my room... maybe I will get picked to stay in that wonderful room in the castle...It could happen... and if my family doesn't want to leave the animals I will call you and your friend!

I would watch that movie over and over and over on summer vacation. I didn't know it was an actual book until high school when we were assigned it for an Honors English class. I never returned my copy. Sssh. Don't tell. :rolleyes1

Ah, Tonga Toast....my holy grail...I have yet to taste its gloriousness.

I refuse to leave Florida without having inhaled Tonga Toast, a Dole Whip and the cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier. Re.Fuse.

Poor Canada.

I was hoping someone would pick up on that. It truly is the best stupid funny movie. My friend who's getting married and I have so many ongoing jokes from that movie. Particularly, "And den? And den and den and den and den and den!.......And dennnnnnn?"

Hey Tiff! Welcome and congratulations on figuring out the thread tools. Seriously, I think it took me, like, 3 years to figure out how to subscribe without commenting. And considering I was a lurker, that was pretty tough. I would tell you I kept a manual list of the TRs I was reading, but that would out me as a total dork. But I guess I just did. ::sigh::

but I wouldn't mind being able to see that castle from my room

I'm using positive affirmations and keep thinking, "Polynesian, Polynesian, Polynesian" hoping it'll somehow just happen. Maybe I should read The Secret.

maybe I will get picked to stay in that wonderful room in the castle...It could happen... and if my family doesn't want to leave the animals I will call you and your friend!

I don't know your family, but if they're not down to parting ways with the aminals for some one-on-one time with the ultimate MK dream, Missy and I are pretty fun chicks. And I don't consider it too low to try to bribe my way into sharing that castle suite with you either. LOL

The plans sound really good. One of these days I'll get to try that french toast too.

Tonga Toast-ers Unite!

Actually, this one is mostly all pictures. Just wanted you to have some faces to put with the names. Some mental imagery. Some nightmare fodder. And all that.

Allow myself to introduce....myself.
This is me. Nikki. I call this portrait, "What happens when you say something I don't agree with."

untitled2-1.jpg

This is also me. And one of the worst pictures of me every produced in history. However, the pirate hat really does make it relevant to this PTR/TR.
I'm whiter than the Arctic in the dead of winter.
I'm sweaty, which always makes for an attractive photo op.
I'm about 15lbs heavier than I am now.
I'm smiling, but on the outside, I'm pouting and fuming after having lost, nay having been CRUSHED, at pirate mini-golf by the BF. He, of course, was gloating. I also have an ADORABLE picture of him wearing the pirate hat but if I post that and he finds out about it, I'll likely be surfing the "Are there any single Disney men?" thread.

GOD. I can't believe I just posted that. The things I'll do for the DIS. :sad2:
Really, 6.68 days out of 7 I'm better looking than that. As long as it's after 8 a.m.

I'm coming to realize I have no newish, good pictures of myself. I'll try to remedy that in a later post. So that you don't convince yourself you're reading EE's Yeti's sister's PTR/TR.

I know I haven't done her intro yet. (I'm hoping maybe she'll succumb to, um, I mean join, the DIS and do it herself, but if not, I'll do it soon-ish.) But this is Missy. I love this picture of her. She's happy and her smile is so genuine. She's my beautiful, beautiful friend.

untitled8-1.jpg

This is our trip mascot at his post at Missy's desk at work. More on him later.

This is our mascot enjoying a much-needed coffee break:

jackandtigger.jpg

And just for kicks, because everyone likes pics...(Think Dr. Seuss is hiring?)

This is my adorable godson with the Easter bunny. And just for a frame of reference, while he looks like a two-year-old, he'll be ONE on 4/10. My little pork chop and his oh-so-serious expression. I can't wait to spoil him with Disney trips. I'll be buying things left and right on this trip for him.

This is what I want for the bathtub for Christmas:

iceice.jpg

And this is my favorite picture of Paris Hilton:

untitled-1.jpg

I also want to do a photo-montage-post of past trips but that will require scanning from home. Which likely won't happen this week since I was informed in class last night that we have an exam next week. And exam the size of Guatemala. Which is not small in terms of exams.

Useful Flirting Skills 101: How to Get Mickey Heads from Home Depot

:flower3:

Love the upcoming topics. I can use some tips for how to get more Mickey Heads from Home Depot. I always feel like I'm on the ultimate subversive mission taking them from there.

Love the pics too!

:rotfl2: Great so far. I cannot wait to read more.

I got some Mickeyheads not too long ago and I kept waiting for someone to chase me out of Home Depot.

In the pic of you with the pirate hat, you look almost *just* like my bestest friend in the whole world, who also happens to be named Nikki. Just thought I would share. :)

I'm just waiting for the day that I'm "browsing" the "eared" paint chips and an HD paint person comes over to me and says, "So, you're making a countdown calendar, huh?"

:rotfl2: Great so far. I cannot wait to read more.

I'm sure Disney reads these boards. And I'm sure we'll soon see a LGMH Secret Service agent securing the area.

It's a small world after. It's a small, small, world. Or so I hear.

Great updates! As I sit here, sick as a dog and wondering if I should give DH my last requests, your PTR has made me laugh!

I have never tried Tonga Toast, but your description was the next best thing!

As I sit here, sick as a dog and wondering if I should give DH my last requests, your PTR has made me laugh!

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

But...

If you're giving DH last requests and all...

Tell him NOTHING would make you feel better more quickly than an impromptu trip to the World. Now. In time for a dinner ADR and Wishes!

Feel better. It's no fun being sick. Especially if your my BF when I'm sick. I turn into Lil' Miss Pi$$y Pants.

Remember the Lil' Mr. and Lil' Miss books? (They actually sell them in one of the stores in the UK in Epicot.) I would LOVE to know what THAT story would be like.

:rotfl: That would be perfect! I wonder if there is a Pirate and Princess Party tonight -- we could be there in time, if we left right now! I can just see me now, "DH, I don't have long for this world...if you really loved me, you would take me to the Magic Kingdom, buy me a Dole Whip, and let me ride Pirates of the Caribbean one last time. It's the only thing I am asking for..." :rotfl:

Thanks! I am horrible when I am sick. I think DH slips me extra Nyquil because I whine so much if I am awake. ;)

:rotfl2: I do remember those books! I loved them!

I'm going the same time as you! We're doing many of the same things, just a little off. For example, You're going to LeCellier after your MK day and we're spending the day at MK and then going to Tutto Italia! Your drinking around the "world" and I'm pushing an 18month old around the world with a drinking DH! (ok bad example!) Seriously we are doing the same parks on the same days. Oh, and my DH would love to go drinking with you girls. I'm old (29!) and have a child and am "no fun" anymore :rotfl: !

Lovely last installment! Putting a name with a face...now I feel like I really know you! Beware!:lmao:

I had this (what I thought) brilliant idea I said to my husband a few months ago about our trip, no fibbing. "DH, when we go to Disney, I think we should bring one of our Jack Sparrow action figures, and take pictures of him in different places, and then (no and then! ;) ) if I write a trip report I can base it around Jack's adventures....spooky, huh?

That whole great minds thing...I also should mention I am a Libra as well...what else can we find in common? :thumbsup2
