That Pirate Stole My Tiara: The Pre-Trip Report

I would be so in for a pirate character meal. ::yes:: One can only wonder why Disney hasn't jumped all over that by now :confused3 , and really if done right could appeal to boys and girls. You get some Captain Hook, Smee, Wendy, Wil Turner, Elizabeth Swann...someone for all the kids. And then some Captain Jack for their moms.:lovestruc

They could do one at the Rose and Crown at the England Pavillion in Epcot, and then somewhere at the MK too.

Following along these threads it seems there is a direct corollary between those of us who deal with lawyers and a need for a Disney vacation. I'm also in the legal field, and they make me need a vacation on a daily basis!

And also, hope your enjoying your vacation Tink!

:confused3 Past the Pooh stage? When does that happen? Pooh and the Gang are, our favorites!

:rotfl2: My two still love Pooh, but Connor would probably have a fit if he could go eat with pirates. I'll never forget when I asked him if he wanted to eat at the castle and he said, "Will there be knights, and can I eat without silverware like they did in the castle times?" When I told him no to both of those things, all bets were off. Now, pirates? He would :lovestruc pirates!

Sounds like he would really like the Medieval Times dinner show!

Ladies, I would LOVE to be part of a DIS meet in 2009!!! Let's hook it up!
Seriously, as LL would say! ;) This could potentially be a solo trip opp for me. Hmmm....:thumbsup2

I think we all need to work for Disney marketing because they are seriously lacking on the pirate character dining front.
I think there's a sad lack on the pirate character front in general. Come on, I can only see Jack Sparrow during a tutorial. What gives?;)

Nothing new just yet. The BF and I are on vaca through next Monday so I won't have a ton of DIS time. Just here and there. But I should have a new chapter up Monday or Tuesday. Promise! Please hang in there with me. Sorry for the delay!

:flower3:

I hope you enjoy your time off, and I'm really, really looking forward to your next installment. I've had a lot of hormone-induced trip agnst this past week, and I'd love to read about someone else's planning!:goodvibes

Still working on catching up. But, do you mean the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory? If so, it's one of my favorite exports of my beloved home state. *huggles RMCF and Colorado*

Back to reading. If I can avoid work.

Well look who's back from the World!! I hope your trip rocked.

And it could be Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, but I'm not sure. I just call it Rocky Mountain Peanut and Caramel Apple Heaven Factory. ::yes::

seriously -- once they are past the Mickey and Pooh stage, what do they have???

From what I understand, this is where the "princess" meals begin to become of interest, no? ;)

So, so true!!!

Aw. Sweets. I got lotsa love for you! I'll try to start pumping out the chappies as soon as I can.

Well where in the heck have I been??? Your PTR is GREAT. I've spent the morning catching up rather than cleaning (typical) and now can't wait for more, more, more!! popcorn::

Poly in 2009? Can I come too? :goodvibes First round of lapu lapus are on me ;)

And it could be Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, but I'm not sure. I just call it Rocky Mountain Peanut and Caramel Apple Heaven Factory. ::yes::

Hey, works for me! :goodvibes

6. Superman vs. Batman debate: Uh, Batman has cool gadgets and is smart but Superman has Super-Powers and is an alien. Not sure which is better for relationship potential but I'd go with Batman. Money, looks and brains. No contest. Um, and he has a cool cah. (smirk)

Oh, one of my friends (DF1, actually, for those of you familiar with my PTR or wanting to get familiar with my TR) already has dibs on Bruce Wayne. She's not on the Dis, but I assure you that should she catch wind someone is after her beloved, she will get out a Very Large Bat and employ her whacking skills. :rotfl:

And re: all the discussion about a Poly 2009 trip--ooh, I wanna come! Second round of lapu lapus on me! :thumbsup2

Hey Tink...I don't know if you're back to work tomorrow or not, but I just wanted to say I hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your time off. :goodvibes

Hey girl!! Just checking in with you!! Hope you had a nice weekend!

Well where in the heck have I been???

Not sure. Guam? The grocery store? Oil change? Discovering Victoria's Secret?

(Which, by the way, I have discovered: hire yourself an AMAZING airbrusher.)

Your PTR is GREAT.

Thank you. That's always better to hear than "Wow! What a MEDIOCRE pre-trip report!"

First round of lapu lapus are on me ;)

I'm making an executive decision. This girl (and her wallet) are in!

Only half way through and you're hilarious, can't wait for more :goodvibes

Just wait. I get hilariouser.

I also grossly abuse spelling and grammar.

Second round of lapu lapus on me! :thumbsup2

So, still bit by the Disney bug, I see, huh?

Hey Tink...I don't know if you're back to work tomorrow or not, but I just wanted to say I hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your time off. :goodvibes

Hey girl!! Just checking in with you!! Hope you had a nice weekend!

How was your vacation?

Hope you had a great vacation!

My vacation time was really just a vacation from work. We did day-trip stuff and just enjoyed not doing the whole 9-5 thing. We saw a movie, ate, went to Foxwoods (and lost :( ), ate, went shopping, ate, went to Dave & Busters, ate, when to Boston and the NE Aquarium, ate, melted on the couch because we're both too stubborn to put the A/C in the bedroom window for two days of sweltering heat.

Seriously. It was HOT. We went out to grab lunch yesterday (see, we ate) and the temp. at the bank read ONE HUNDRED AND THREE DEGREES.

I just cried a little.

I'm glad to be back at work (and back to the DIS) if for only the A/C.

Oh, and I read 4 books this weekend. ::yes:: That felt SO wonderful.

Even when I was sitting there. Not moving. In the heat. And my NECK was sweating.

Just in case you haven't caught on. It was hot.

But as I said, I'm back to the regular grind and will be back to daily postings. I was hoping to get one in today while here at work, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I have been buried all day AND I forgot my flash drive at home AND there's no way I'm sitting in front of the computer in tonight's heat. Instead, I'll likely escape the heat by standing under a cold stream of water in the shower until I'm so pruny that the BF can't stand it.

Oh, who am I kidding? He'll be right there with me and just as pruny as myself.

It's the kitties we're going to have to look out for. I think they're going to mutiny.

Meow. Aargh.

So, it's been warm up there you say? :rotfl2:

I'm sorry - the end is in sight, at least right? Hang in there!

Did you check out the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods?

Just wait. I get hilariouser.

And there you go! :rotfl:

Wow, it's not even that hot here in Orlando. :rolleyes1

So what did you read? I'm always looking for suggestions. :thumbsup2

Even when I was sitting there. Not moving. In the heat. And my NECK was sweating.
But the worst is the back of your knees.

Just a tad.

Did you check out the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods?

Yup. It's nicer than the rest of Foxwoods but small-ish (by casino standards). Mostly slots (which I don't usually play - it makes me said to lose $10 in 6.3 seconds) and not many table games (which we DO play - mostly Caribbean Stud Poker). Great atmosphere, though and the hotel and restaurants seemed nice.

Wow, it's not even that hot here in Orlando. :rolleyes1

::whine:: I want to be in Orlando RIGHT NOW.

So what did you read? I'm always looking for suggestions. :thumbsup2

Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
Such A Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Drunk, Divorced and Covered in Cat Hair by Laurie Perry

It's all light chick lit, which normally isn't my cup of tea, but I needed some "fun" summer reading. I've also just started The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs.

But the worst is the back of your knees.

Yes. ::yes:: Ew.

Dang it, still there. Maybe if the dancing produce had mouse ears...

What an awesome avatar that would make.

New chappie today, peeps!
