That one extra Christmas gift.... X-Box 360 help!!! ------------- Got it today!

Gavin has been talking for a while about getting an x-box 360, for various reasons I have managed to get him to hold off for the moment and we agreed he would wait until his birthday in Febuary and if he still wanted one then we would buy it then.

Then I actually got to thinking about why I was putting him off and all of the logical reasons I had given him and I thought 'sack that' i'm going to buy him one for Christmas

We have set a budget on each other which we have both now hit so this is an extra present that will be hidden until all of his others are open

In order to get one home and wrapped in secret I have had to say I will work this Saturday so I can have a day off next week to pick it up in secret.

Well, now all of the waffle is over I need to know what the 'must have' car game is?

Gavin is obsessed with car racing and I definatley need to buy him the best game available or the whole present will be wasted. Help!

Need for Speed Carbon is a relatively need one. I haven't a clue about this sort of genre unfortunately, however I did get this one for DB this christmas.

If you want to buck the trend, there is an awesome Sonic the Hedgehog game out now.

Its much better value to buy the Premium pack not the core one, as it comes with the hard disk and a wireless controller and few other bits.

If you only buy the core one you'd need to spend money on memorycards or the harddisk (hard disk + core = same price as premium)

Not sure what is better but I don't rate the need for speed series as very good, they are OK. Project Gotham Racing 3 would be a better bet.

Thanks, I was going to go for the Premium pack seems alot better value than the core pack.

I have been browsing and there doesnt seem to be many car games available, I am going to get him the 'cars' one as he has tons of cars stuff and I may even play this one but other than that I am not sure. The Need for Speed Cardon isnt really up Gavin's street, on his old X-Box he had one's like Colin McRay Rally and a Formula 1 game.

Amazon told me to expect it on the 14th now but it has finally appeared on the City Link parcel tracking page which tells me it's due to be delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately both DW and I are out most of the day tomorrow (I have to work and she is off galavanting with Joseph ) so it will be going back to the depot for another night in the cold me thinks

Anyway onto all things 360! I have read some good reviews about Project Gotham Racing, although it's a bit old now so something better might have come along.

Obviously the next thing you will be needing (unless you have one) is a HD TV so that Gavin can play his 360 in it's full glory

Gavin bought a 19" HD TV for our new bedroom so i'm guessing thats where the xbox will be until we upgrade the living room telly

I ordered one for dh from Play.com and it was delivered today He is going to be mega surprised,he keeps hinting but i have told him there is no way i can justify that kind of money on one toy i'm so excited i can't wait to see his face when he opens it!!!
