That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Dylcal, since you've done Grand Cayman before, can you tell me how the tendering works - specifially if you don't have a dis excursion planned? I assume if there is a 7:15 seven mile beach excursion the first tendering boat must be pretty early, so maybe by noon the people who just want to check things out on their own get to go over???

I'm not Dylcal but think I can answer for you. Sometimes you have to "line up" in the smaller theater to wait for a tender ticket. A DCL castmember walks with your group to the tender boarding area. It doesn't usually take too long. If you want to be off the ship early you will need to be at the meeting place for tendering early. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the infor about Formal night. What is the pirate and princess party? This is new to me.

Happy New Year!!!

UMTerp

I think that's a typo, I'm pretty sure Kara meant Prince and Princess night. It is formal night but the menu isn't called the "formal menu", it's called the "Prince and Princess menu", b/c all the kids are dressed formal, hence like princes and princesses. I think it's a great night to do Palo - someone posted all the menus for the western cruise on the main boards and I thought the Prince and Princess menu was the least impressive - but that's just my opinion. :confused3

Thanks to everyone for the tendering info.

I checked with DD and she does want to do this, so I changed my Palo night to Wednesday. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the clarification re: formal night dinner.

Anyone been to Chankannab in Cozumel? I'm debating going there or Paradise Beach.

Yup, typo..... I was thinking of Pirate and Princess party at WDW a few years back..... I agree that this is the least impressive menu, along with the lobster at the Captain's Gala (semi-formal night). That is when we are doing Palo this time...... Last time, we did Palo early and then did our rotational dining too..... And yes, we ate at both!!!! :rotfl2:

Too funny about eating both! Of course, I don't know how you did it! After eating in Palo I feel like I'm done for the week!

Tendering is pretty easy. I never have had to go for a tendering ticket and have usually just gone down to the gate. They only time you may have to wait is if an excursion is leaving at the same time as they will load them first.

Kara I think a meet at 3 would be great. I have done that before on previous cruises and it started things off right.

I like the meet at 3 idea too! It's good to put faces to names early in the cruise!

I think the first post is updated with FE info.... did I forget anyone?

When do y'all want to cut it off? Feb 1? March 1? Compromise and say Feb 15th?

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year..... nothing between us and the cruise now except Valentines Day and St Patty's Day?? :cool1:

Kara, I finally got around to going through my September cruise stuff and I found a cute little "surcee" we got for our CC day that we all loved that I had forgotten. It's a 3D paper model of the cabana with an invite for the [your family] to cabana # [x]. It has instructions on how to travel with it and reconstruct. :thumbsup2

Cyndi, is this something that DCL will be sending me? Sounds like fun!!!

OK, cutoff for FE sounds like Feb 15th..... So I'm sure we will have several more families by then. Right now we are at 11 - hopefully we can keep it under 20 and we should be all set!!! :thumbsup2

Meet at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge? This worked out great last time especially for the kids to meet each other!

KK

I have all your info included!!! You may want to delete this post now since it has some personal info that is "out there" for all to see..... ;)

I just went through and cleaned out my PMs and wouldn't you know..... somehow I never saved all y'all's info!!!! I have Dylcal, UMTerp, kgoldenh, JWBmom, CyndiandChris and Kettermans..... Can everyone else please PM me your info again? I'm sooooo sorry!

OK, here's the dill.... pickles.....

Everyone needs to book their own Palo brunch ressies and ask to be seated with us. Tammi, I was able to book you with us since our ressies are linked for dinner.

I booked 10am on March 31. I really hope we can get a big group - think it will be lots of fun, especially on Day 2 of the cruise!

Oh bummer. We just tried booking for brunch and only 1030 is available. :( Will try to call and add on for 10am. Would love to have brunch with everyone.

They will put it in your room. DH says they did it the CC day, but I am pretty sure they did it the nght before. I would take a picture, but (1) that is a lot of effort (not to put it back together but to read how to put it back together) and (2) I don't know how to post a pic. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: No problem! I'll just be surprised when it arrives!!!

Chankannab is great! we love going there. stairs into water and great snorkeling. prices for food and drink were not bad at all. there is a shopping area but not like the guantlet when you get off the ship. We enjoy it there. That said we are doing Nachi this time.
