That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Do you remember which one? I'll be calling on Saturday......... I've read that #10 has the best view of the ship but #9 is the "best" overall...... whatever that means. :lmao:

You aren't supposed to swim there, but lounging in the water is allowed and that is exactly what we wanted to do. Very secluded and private. It was like we had our own private beach... Very nice to be away from the Dream crowds.

Hi everyone, I am not on this cruise but I made this countdown calendar for someone that is. I thought that more people should have access to it.

http://www.mediafire.com/i/?4vz1j19c4d0ujdg

I made one similar for my cruise on the Wonder and was able to get it printed at CostCo for Under $10 at 30"x20" in size.

Have fun!

We are doing the Rays/Reef/Rum Point tour with Native Way Watersports - who I believe you mentioned you've used before. We've read lots of good things about Native Way and this tour so we're really excited about it!

If it's like the other recent Westerns, it will be on the night of our Cozumel day.

Yes, we did the Rays/Reef/Rum point tour and are debating if we should do it again.

Thanks for the info about pirate night. It's fun to see what people wear that night!

I didn't use a TA on my last cruise, but did for this one. Is there a way to see that I am paid in full on the DCL website? I want to make sure that everything is setup so that I can book stuff at 90 days (Friday at midnight - somewhere - Eastern time I suppose).

Same with me Tammi - I just called DCL to make sure..... I'm booking at midnight Friday night/Sat morning.

Last call for Palo brunch.... I was going to book at 11am on 3/31 (since we don't get into Key West until 12:30) - who's in????? Might be fun to have a big group for this......

Tammi - I think I'm booking Palo dinner for Jeff and I on 4/4 - at sea day.... I'm going to do early, like 5:30 so we can watch sunset... Will this be okay for you to do dinner with the very mature little ones that night? lol

I'd be happy to take her to dinner with us whenever you need....

I am still in for Palo brunch. I think if there are 10 of us, then we might need/get the special private room. Hopefully there aren't issues with reserving for a big group.

Let me know if you want me to do anything...

I show 10 for Palo brunch on the Key West day.... I'm shooting for 11am (I think we get into KW at 12:30?).... I think I will pad the reservation and make it for 18? Sound good?

Kara, I think we are going to pass on the group brunch and try for an earlier time on our own (found out they start at 10 am on KW day). We're thinking of taking the hop on/hop off trolley around Key West and it only runs until 4:30 pm, so we want to get off the ship as quickly as possible to have the most time touring. Hope you guys have fun!

I actually like the idea of 10 or 10:30 better. Anyone else? Either way I think I'll make it for about 18 people and if we gets lots of takers, great....

Just scheduled thyroid surgery for Jan 25..... They are removing the right lobe of my thyroid due to a large nodule. The biopsy came back "inconclusive" which I guess is fairly common, and next step is surgery to rule out anything worse..... So....... They say 1-2 week recovery and hopefully the nodule is benign so I can be raring to go by March 30! :cool1:

If you decide to go earlier count us in again! :)

So sorry you have to go through this. Sending lots of positive thoughts that all goes well! :flower3:

Hi Kara, if you move up the Palo time to 10/1030 put us down for 2. And thyroids are over rated, you'll do fine without yours. Kidding of course, but I've been an oncology nurse for years and I don't recall a single cancerous thyroid tumor - something like 99+% are benign.

So Saturday is reservation day!:cool1:
I have no Dis excursions planned! Which is really weird for us. With booking non-Dis I worry about losing deposits if there is a port change or weather issue, etc. But it's been hard finding things that appease everybody. Here is what I have in mind for excursions after exhaustive research and mind changing over and over!

Key West
A private charter dolphin cruise & snorkel

Grand Cayman
Staying on board! Might disembark to check out the turtle farm and come back.

Cozumel
I'm going to pay $5/ea to prebook Mr. Sanchos (so DD's can horseback ride on the beach and play on beach inflatables) but if we decide to stay on the boat it won't be a big deal.

Castaway
The usual combo pack of bike/snorkel gear/tube if they still offer that. No cabana for us. We plan on crashing everyone elses. (not really)

These meet the qualifications set by my family which include "swimming w/ dolphins" (9yr old), "horseback riding" (12 yr old), "snorkeling" (me), and "I don't care what we do" (DH).

Kara,
I am in for the brunch no matter when.... since I don't want to go alone.

Good luck with your surgery... Hope all goes well.

To all,
I booked our cruise through COSTCO travel, and the itinerary they emailed me has different port times then what DCL shows. Has anyone else seen differences???:confused3:

Costco:
Key West 1:00pm to 9:00pm
GC 11:30am to 4:15pm
Cozumel 9:30am to 6:15pm

Disney:
Key West 12:30pm to 9:30pm
GC 7:15am to 4:30pm
Cozumel 9:30am to 6:30pm

You have NO idea how good this makes me feel!!! Of course I'm nervous as heck going into this surgery, so it's nice to hear from people who know what they are talking about! The pathologist said 15-32% of the cells being "bad." But my dr said even worst cast scenario, there is a 95% cure rate so..... The only problem is that this would push right into the cruise so praying that after the surgery the pathology comes back good! :thumbsup2

AND, we'll see you at Mr Sanchos!

Tammi - When did you send your ressie through Costco? We almost did that too for the gift card..... Should have. I'm going with what Disney has posted for now. Just wondering if one or the other has recently changed? GC is the one I'm most concerned about.....

OK, For sure I'm booking first thing in the morning for 18 people...... then we'll get a count next week. Sound good?

I went back and checked my original ressie with Costco and it shows the same times that I listed for them in my post above. I am hoping that they just haven't updated it from Disney or got it wrong to begin with...... Seems like Disney should know what they are doing....

Kara, what time is our excursion in GC?

Sounds good to me! :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for taking the time to do this.

I hope Costco is wrong; I don't mind the others but those GC times would completely mess up our excursion. Didn't Dylcal say that one of DCL's GC excursions had a meeting time of 7:15 am? I'm going to look tonight and see the excursion times that are available; that should help us figure out the real port times.
