That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

Hi everyone! We just switched our four day Dream to seven days of Magic and are so excited! This will be our fourth DCL cruise, but first on the Magic. DS won't be with us, but my soon to be 7 DD will. I sure could use a little Magic right now... Even with Christmas just around the corner!

Welcome and I am sure you will enjoy the extra time! We actually prefer the smaller ship! This will be our 8th cruise and my son who is now 17 still insists on going Disney and on the Magic! Welcome again.

For those of you 7 night veterans, I seem to remember there were kid's club activities that you don't get on the shorter cruises. I can't find anything on the DCL website now, though. Does anyone know what the differences in activities are supposed to be?

Kara, will message you our info for the FE. Should I buy a new FE without our son's name or just make sure everyone knows he isn't with us?

I think just letting everyone know that he won't be with you is sufficient- unless of course you want to buy a new FE;)
Too bad he won't be coming as my ds is 14 as well.

You actually pick a port arrival time now as part of your online check in (unless you are staying at a Disney hotel the night before). DCL started that earlier this year to try to spread the crowds at the terminal a bit. I've read that your boarding number is now tied to that arrival time so even if you show up earlier it won't get you on the ship faster. There's also an exception for those taking DCL transportation from the airport: we will get our boarding numbers when we check in at the airport regardless of our selected port arrival times.

Dylcal - I'll see you on that first bus out of MCO! :woohoo:

Wow! Didn't know about this. Thank you so much for posting!!!

Merry Christmas!!! Guess who Santa gave a Castaway Cay cabana??? Sooooo excited! Now if I can just get it booked on Saturday or we will have some splainin to do to Ally? "But I thought Santa already paid for it?". Won't be good..... Although I feel truly thankful that she's 10 and still totally into Santa.....

All you Silver CC members, good luck on Saturday! We are getting so close!

The kids programs are awedome! We are fully prepared to see Ally at breakfast, dinner, and in ports.... Otherwise I'm sure she will be entertaining herself and in the clubs....

How old are your kids again?

But our daughter will be 7 in January. BTW, we had a cabana in September and it was well worth the money, IMO... your own private Caribbean beach/slice of heaven. :goodvibes

Do you remember which one? I'll be calling on Saturday......... I've read that #10 has the best view of the ship but #9 is the "best" overall...... whatever that means. :lmao:

Kara,
We had cabana #11 in July and it was great, but I think all of them have their positives and (minor) negatives. The lower numbers are closest to the tram/Cookies/bathrooms/Pelican Plunge, etc, but are also closer to the family beach and hence the noise. The higher numbers are a slightly longer walk, but they are very peaceful and quiet. The middle ones have a pretty good balance of both, which is probably why you read #9 was 'best'. Good luck!

Now it's time for serious planning!

I'm debating another visit to Stingray City in GC. We went before but it seems like there aren't that many options other than beach time. What's everyone else doing?

GC is the one place we will probably stay on the ship. I wanted to go to 7-Mile Beach but the 7:15 morning meet time turned me off!! :scared1: That is way too early to get up and function on vacation! Besides my son won't be up until after noon! Poor stewards who want to clean the room:confused3.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and good luck to you silver members on booking this weekend!

Dylcal - you can easily take a taxi or even public bus to 7-mile beach and go whenever you want. We took the public bus first time we went to GC and it was easy and cheap!

Thanks -- that is good to know. Since I know that my son won't want to come, I might try it on my own -- I tend to be braver when he is not with me!!!:rotfl:

There will be lots of other cruisers doing the same thing. You should be fine.

We are doing the Rays/Reef/Rum Point tour with Native Way Watersports - who I believe you mentioned you've used before. We've read lots of good things about Native Way and this tour so we're really excited about it!

Anyone know what night will be Pirate night?

UMTerp

If it's like the other recent Westerns, it will be on the night of our Cozumel day.

DS is lobbying for dolphins and turtles. Not sure I want to do that. We were thinking taxi to 7mile beach and just hanging out.

Just paid off and not so patiently waiting til Saturday to book.... It was real before but the closer it gets the more real it feels.

Isn't that the truth????

We had that big family vacay to WDW a couple weeks ago, so that kept me busy, and now I have all the time in the world to obsess, er I mean "plan" this cruise! :rotfl2:
