Hey guys, I got my trip planned (as you can see in my sig), and I haven't really felt that Disney excitment yet. I mean, I'm flippin ready to go right now, but I don't have that, ya know, feeling yet. Is it cause I still have 2 months, or is it that I still have a good bit of school left, or is it cause I'm in Houston cause of Katrina's tearing up my house?? I think it's just cause of my being a refugee. But...does anyone know what I'm talking about?? I've been to Disney at least once a year for the past 4 years, could I be getting less excited about Disney?? SOMEONE HELP!!! :confused3

No, your not losing that Dis feeling, you just haven't gotten it YET. I know what you mean, some days I am like whatever, and some days I am like  :earseek: :cheer2: . I think the closer it gets the better too. Also, the more "ready" you are to go, the more you want to go. I liked knowing I still had X weeks of still saving $ to add to the trip, ya know.

It will help to be on this board, but also, listen to the park music on line, that really pumps me up. Plus looking at the wishes video, that gets me.

You'll get that feeling, just picture yourself THERE. :earboy2:

Wow, I'm glad someone knows what I'm talkin about. I hope I'll get pumped pretty soon. I will watch my home movies of Disney as soon as I can find them (the whole Katrina thing really messed me up). I got some POTC and HM music on my Ipod, so that should get me pumped, plus my countdown in my sig is helping, and the Dis Forum helping SO MUCH!! This website is awesome, I wish I had found it sooner!!

DISNEY WORLD IN JANUARY!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :hourglass :wizard: :earsboy:

I am the exact opposite of you! I am SO excited I can hardly contain myself!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :maleficen :dancer: Well, I guess you get the idea!!! I just booked our ADR's and I look at Disney pictures from past trips almost EVERY DAY!! You will get excited...the closer you get. However, DH and I did have a trip planned for WL in Nov '04 and I never did get excited, so I cancelled the trip.:confused3 (We were dealing with a travel agent that really upset me and killed any desire I had) Never fear, though, we ended up going in February '05 and I was VERY excited about it. (booked everything myself - no pain in the rear-end TA, thank you very much!)You will get there, you have just had a lot on you because of the hurricane! Just look at WDW as your chance to de-stress after a TOUGH year. Mickey Mouse heals all wounds!:earsboy:

Hehehe, I gotta agree with you on the fact that Mickey really does heal all wounds. Okay, I think I pinpointed the problem. I'm not going with my family, I'm going with my close friend and his mom. So I didn't really get to plan anything out and we're driving there (it's a 10-12 hour drive), so I think I just really like planning the trips, almost as much as going on the trip itself!!! That being said, I am getting a little more excited by the minute! Thanks for the support!! :earboy2:

I can sympathize with not getting as excited as possible b/c of school. I'm not sure if you're a student or a teacher, but I am also not as excited b/c of academic reasons.

I'm a senior in college and am going to Disney in January with family and friends to celebrate my 21st bday (6 mos belated!). I know I will have a great time, and I am really looking forward to being there....but I always get nervous thinking about it because i have SO MUCH to do before I go! I am in three writing intensive classes with 30 page research papers due, am working two jobs, am taking the GRE soon, and have to apply to grad school...all before Christmas! But I will definitely have my class-stuff done before christmas, and I plan on finishing my application stuff before the New Years. Hopefully after that, I can just focus on the magic!

Hope you like the boards though...they definitely get me in the Disney mood.

I'm a junior in high school, and I guess I'm not that excitred is cause of all the work and the fact that I'm attending a new school because of the hurricane. But I plan on watching home videos of Disney and stuff like that pretty soon, that should get me in the mood.

Don't underestimate the amount of stress you are experiencing as a result of your "relocation". Especially when we're young, we don't always recognize that such upheavals in life cause stress, both physical and mental, which can subconsciously put a damper on things.
I hope you get back to a "normal" situation soon, and that you enjoy your trip - it sounds like just the fun you could use right now.

Sounds like you are on the right track to get some disney magic built up for your trip. If I am not feeling disney-ish (and it did happen, one day) I look thru my pictures or scrapbooks of old trips, browse the WDW website and the Dis, and flip thru a guidebook. You have had a rough year and deserve a break. :wizard: Wishing you the most magical trip ever!

:earsboy: Thanks for the support guys, I am really getting into a Disney mood lately, this forum is helping a lot. I didn't have too rough of a time with Katrina, my house got some flooding, but it's not too bad. Lots of people have it way worse than me. Buttt...........it would be nice to have a Disney get-a-way, and luckily I will in January!!!!! I just found my Disney home video from when I was 4 years old, so that should definatley get my in the Disney mood. Thanks again!!! :earboy2: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :wizard:
