Okay, who besides be goes bananas when that commercial for Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure comes on the TV? You know, the one with the little girl whining, "If I have to hug one more princess on my vacation, I think I'm gonna HURL!"

It drives me

I like it I think it's so funny that they have to try and beat down Disney and never show one thing about their park.

And the little unsupervised kid late at night at the concert yea thats where I want my DD to be.

Now don't get me wrong we have been to and will go again to US/IOA but boy did they miss it on that one.

I haven't seen that commercial yet. But I cant believe that they put down Disney in it! Cant they see that Disney is waaaaaay better? :thumbsup2

But I have to admit, I do love that older Universal commercial where the lady is grabbing her two kids and hugging them towards her as they go down the drop on the water ride......and KISS is hanging out by the pool. That one does make me laugh.

I don't like it just cause that little girl sounds like a brat and I don't like to hear little kids saying things like hurl.

Other than that I shake my head at Universal and always remember that WDW doesn't ahve to put down other parks in order to get people to visit. Nothing like making it on your own merits.

I think the funniest thing about that commercial is that most of the kids are, shall I say "unattractive". Are they saying Disney is only for the pretty, perfect people? I think Universal is fine for what it is, but I don't see the appeal of the ad. It's like they're saying "hey, if you've got a scary, tough kid, come here"!

That commercial totally bugs me! :furious: I want to throw a pair of Mickey ears at that little girl!

I watch that commerical and pray that my girls(well not quiet my girls.. my fiancee's two daughters.. so partially mine) will not turn into her. We are going for our first trip (my I lost count trip) and they have never been. She is my worst nightmare! So if you see a burnette woman crying in the middle of MK.. that would be me.. and that would because they hate it.

My 5 year old daughter saw that commercial and she said "something is wrong with that girl. She has a bad attitude. I could hug princesses all day long". lol :thumbsup2 That's my girl! :goodvibes

yeah...I agree that commercial is pretty annoying...

The Disney commercials nail it every time though! Remember the one where the kid is talking in an elevator to strangers about his trip to WDW while his mom is standing there with another smaller child in the stroller..."This is my sister, my mom likes to call her her little souvenier." That one cracks me up! :rotfl2:

lol! Well, by that standard, no wonder I love Disney!

(JUST KIDDING!!)

It bugged me from the first time I saw it, too!

But you know what they always say- those that have to put others down to build themselves up are the most insecure. It is jsut Universal revealing their insecurities. They *know* people come to Orlando for WDW and they're hoping to convince people before they go that they might get sick of WDW and want some of Universal, too. At least we know better!

I love that! Do you mind if steal this quote from you? I think it is wonderful way to help explain why names and teasing occurs.

Steal away! :goodvibes I'm a teacher; I use that line often.

I hate them too...

I too love the Disney commericals, I get goose bumps, I especially love the ones last year with the dogs...

and the one mentioned above with the little kid on the elevator talking about DCL is a riot. :rotfl:

I love the Universal commercial. Living so near to WDW, I have to admit that the princess thing is overwhelming. Disney is currently running a commercial for the new boutique at DTD on the radio. It seems like it is on every five minutes. It is almost enough to make me want to hurl and I love Disney! You can have to much of a good thing!

Oh gosh, I do remember that Disney commercial about the baby brother being the "little souvineer." I LOVE that commercial....it is too cute!

OH I hate that commercial too, and that girl does look like a little brat.
I have been to Universal Studios, and it in no way compares to DISNEY WORLD.

That commercial is kinda sad! Can you imagine if Disney aired a commercial where the kids were whining, "We don't wanna go to Universal!"? My daughter said "That girl is WEIRD."

When I saw this thread though, I thought it was going to be about the Disney commercial that seems to be constantly airing lately with the kids and the parents lying awake - "I'm too excited to sleep!" I can't see that thing without misting up a bit!

Have you all noticed that the one with the kids and parents who are too excited to sleep is the same mom and daughter (and therefore supposedly at least, the "little souvenier") from the first commercial in the elevator? I LOVE that! The big sister is telling her little brother about how there are "even more cool things now." I love that one and yeah, it makes me tear up too. I am such a goof!

That Universal commercial cracks me up! Not because I like it or agree with it but because of the reaction of my 2 DD's 12 & 14 every time they see it. Their faces turn red and the veins in their necks pop out ... lol! Then they go into a 10 minute speech about how Universal only wishes they were half as good as Disney and how that little girl can't be human! Then I hear how they can't wait to see the princesses when we go again in Oct. Its just so funny how much it gets them going! They have both been to Universal and liked it but nothing is ever going to compare to Disney for them! I taught them well!! princess: The princesses & all of the other Disney characters rock!!
