Anyone ever been on a Disney cruise for Thanksgiving? We love the idea it is one of our "at sea" days, but was wondering about what the ship does for this holiday.

We went on the four day Wonder last Thanksgiving. We actually spent Thanksgiving Day on Castaway Cay. So the ship went there first. It usually does not leave on a Wed. for four night cruises but it does on Thanksgiving. Then the ship went to Nassau then we had our day a sea.

For dinner they had a special Thanksgiving dinner. So on the four night cruise we gave up the pirate themed dinner but we still had pirate night. I have a copy of the dinner menu. Mickey and Minnie dress as pilgrims.
The ship and Castaway Cay are already decorated for Christmas.

We found it a very relaxing way to spend Thanksgiving.

My Family has done Thanksgiving on the Magic. We love doing this. I wish we could afford it every year. At dinner; "a tradition thanksgiving dinner" is an options. Along with everything else they would normally do that night. They also serve a pumkin cheese cake. But no pumpkin pie. My DH was very disappointed that they didn't have pumpkin pie!

All through the week you will see them putting up the Christmas decoration. There is a huge Christmas tree in the atrium. A ginger bread house in the hallway. Castaway Cay was decorated too. Very fun!

Here are a few reasons why we like to do Thanksgiving on DCL:

*No Thanksgiving dinner to prepare, serve and clean up!!!:thumbsup2
*No having to do the inlaw thing!!;)
*We love all the decorations. There is no better why to start the whole holiday season.

This year we didn't get to go...and had to do the whole inlaw thing. I kept thinking I would rather be on the Magic! (LOL)

We have done the Wonder for Thanksgiving and will be doing it again this year - both are family reunions. We had a great time and the food was extra special on Thanksgiving (traditional turkey as well as lobster).
