Thanksgiving weekend availability 7 months out

I'm a new member. Was wondering what the availability 7 months out is for thanksgiving and the Friday-Tuesday to follow. I own at boardwalk and almost every room category is gone already for thanksgiving night. The rest of the weekend is still decent. Anyone have experience with the other resorts? BLT or akv? Vwl? Just curious what to expect or try for in the future. This year I'm just sticking with my home resort to be safe.

The holiday celebration at WDW starts before Thanksgiving and runs through New Year's. However, except for Thanksgiving day (as well as the day before/day after) and the week of Christmas Eve through NY's Eve, the point totals needed to book a resort fall under the two least expensive seasons: Adventure and Choice. As a result, DVC owners often flock to the World since they can enjoy the Disney holiday spirit for fewer points. That migration means that most DVC resorts book quickly at the 11 month point. As a general rule, if you want to visit WDW during the holiday season, book your home resort at 11 months (such as you did this time), and if you want to try another resort at 7 months, you may very well have to resort to waitlisting. There are exceptions. For example, SSR often has rooms available at the 7 months point. On the flip side, attempting to get a VWL reservation at 7 months for the holidays is extremely difficult. If you were going before Thanksgiving and into Thanksgiving week, you'd have a better chance. May want to consider walking a reservation.

AKV will be your best chance. You may get a day or two here and there for BLT and VWL. If you want to go during that time, book the BWV rooms. As the 7 month mark approaches, BWV will be mostly booked as well, especially 12/1 and on.

Time beginning Dec 1 and continuing to Dec 8 is the highest DVC demand week of the year. Getting any near park resort at 7 months out is difficult if not impossible absent wait list. SSR will be open but there is even some risk of being blocked at OKW and AKV. Days around Thanskginving (Wed through Fri night) are also a very high demand time (fourth highest demand time of the year; Dec 23-Jan2 and second week of Dec are the second and third highest demand times of the year)

The demand for the time for the Sat to Tues after Thanksgivng varies according to how close it is to Dec 1. In 2012, when Thanskgiving was at its earliest, Nov 22, BLT lake view, BWV pool/garden, and VWL were open at 7 months out for a trip beginning Sat, Nov 24, and ending Tues, Nov 27 (and even one ending Nov 28, 29, or 30). However, in 2013, when Thanksgiving was at its latest, Nov 28, the time from Sat, Nov 30, to Tues, Dec 3, was gone for all near park resorts before the 7 month window opened and. even AKV and OKW disappeared quickly (before the phone lines opened at 9) for at least one of those nights. This year Dec 1 is the Monday after Thanksgiving and at least Nov 30 and after are likely to be gone for any near park resort before 7 months out (and that includes any openings you are seeing now for BWV pool/garden now).
