Thanksgiving week crowds

We're planning on going the week of Thanksgiving this year. How bad are the crowds that week? Are they any lighter at the begining of the week than at the end?
Also, does anyone know when Disney puts up the Holiday decorations? I read somewhere that it runs from "Thanksgiving through New Year's" but I didn't think they would be up yet. Thanks so much!

I can't answer your question about the beginning of the week, but we were there over Thanksgiving a few years ago.

To sum it all up, we saw the worst crowds we'd ever encountered from Thanksgiving Day through Sunday. The Friday after Thanksgiving was especially terrible (we were at the MK). Seemed like the park was nearly grid-locked with throngs of people; you just about had to move with the masses!!

We loved the decorations and the Osborne Lights, which were already up at that time, but we won't be going back again at Thanksgiving.

We camped at FW from the Saturday before until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the only park with any crowds was MK and they were not bad. We road RnR at MGM 8 times in a row with no line at all. Even had the limo in front of us totally empty a couple of times. The last two rides they let us go from the exit through the doors to the loading station without having to go through the pre show. They started putting the tree up in FW on Monday and had just about all the decorations up by Wednesday. The camp sites were decorated from the get go. We had a blast and got to be home for Turkey day too.
