New DVC member here so we havent dealt with booking yet....we are going to be trying at 11months for CCV Thanksgiving week 2023. Im a planner so I do everything far in advance with backup plans. Im totally nervous about it already. For those that have booked at CCV Thanksgiving week, were you successful or shut out? I didn't really want to walk but is that something that Im going to have to think about doing? Our first pref would be a 1bdrm but we could do a studio.

CCV’s problem is that DVD created a lot of hugely point expensive cabins, but then sold most of the points for those cabins to purchasers who were buying only enough points to get smaller rooms. In other words, it greatly oversold the smaller rooms, particularly studios. The result is that the smaller rooms, particularly the studios, but sometimes even other rooms, can have a real issue of being able to reserve them even at 11-months out, particularly for an extremely high demand time like Thanksgiving week, e.g., during that time studios can fill for any given date at 11-months out within nanoseconds after 8 a.m. eastern when an owner can first reserve.

One bedrooms usually last longer and your chances for one are probably good if you reserve at exactly 11-months out, but still you might consider walking the reservation, probably starting a couple weeks before Thanksgiving.

Agree with drusba, 1 BR is probably not a problem, but if you want to make sure, walk it.

We've booked CC twice for Thanksgiving week in a one bedroom, no problem. You'll start seeing days disappear after a week or two, so as long as you don't procrastinate, you'll be fine.

I completely disagree that walking is necessary for one bedroom villas at Thanksgiving, I have watched the booking patterns for this week every year since 2018 for CC and they were always wide open at 11 months. Not to mention that the points chart is now more expensive and I'm convinced demand isn't quite as intense as it was. This year there were even a fair amount of studios available for a day or two.
