Thanksgiving Dinner

Hey! Just wanted to update. We just called yesterday (I'm a teacher and have been getting ready to go back to school and things have been crazy around here.) We ended up getting Coral Reef at 7:50. Anyone have any experience there for T-Giving? We wanted to eat somewhere we don't normally eat all the time, and DH hasn't ever been to CR, so we thought it might be fun. We figured we'll try to go to the 5:00 Candelight Processional and then go to dinner afterwards. Any suggestions?

Start queuing for cp now! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry had to say it well done on getting somewhere I'm a bit worried the LTT is overbooked but it'll all work out i suppose.

We did the Mickey's BBQ 2005 -
Thanksgiving at the Fort $48.99 / $28.99

My hubby loved it....I had mixed feelings. Liked to open air pavillion...and the all you can eat buffet style, and not feeling rushed....

I did not like the turkey that was kinda the 'pre-cut' deli style version of turkey rather than "fresh/real" turkey you would get a grandmas...but I realize they are cooking for a lot of people. My kids didnt care and loved the Mickey antics - I didnt like the sound level too loud. Regardless Im happy we tried it. This year we are going over to the GF.:goodvibes

I don't think the CP is starting until Friday. At least that is what the CM told me. Does anyone know? We leave Friday morning and I am sad we will miss it. I would love it if it is on Thanksgiving. Anyone?

Come to think of it your right - the CP doesn't start till the 25th we've got a CP package booked at Le Cellier.

Oh, you're right! It doesn't start until Friday. Here is the list of narrators for this year from allearsnet. Thanks for reminding me!! We thought about booking a dinner package for Friday so we'd have a 'for-sure' seat. We've never gone to the CP, so we didn't know how looooooong you have to line up in advance. Based on westgirl's post, I'm guessing it's long :rotfl2:

We will also be down Thanksgiving week. I made reservations a few weeks ago at Yacht Club Galley for four adults at 2:30. When I called there was not much available. The Yacht Club Galley is supposed to be doing a Traditional New England Style buffet Thanksgiving. We were looking for something outside the park. My boyfriend and I are going with our dads. My boyfriends dad lives in Orlando but is not much of a Disney person so we needed something outside the parks as he did not want to go in the parks that day. I think this will be perfect for us as after Thanksgiving lunch we can walk off our food at the Boardwalk and the Y&BC - a few times around the water. I love visiting the resorts at this time of year and checking our all the holiday decorations.

As far as the CP - we were down in FL last year and went to the CP the Monday after Thanksgiving. We went to the 5:00 show and walked in right before it started and got great seats in the center down toward the front (under the overhang). Alot of people do not like going to the first show because it is not fully dark yet and I do see their point but once everyone was up on stage you could see all the candlelight and it was worth not lining up hours before the show. We did not have the CP package. I am sure if you are planning on going there the first day it opens (and the day after Thanksgiving) and you do not have the package you should line up early.

Thanks for the tip! That's why I thought we might get the package because I have a feeling it will be PACKED that day!

I can't seem to find anywhere how the package works with your dinner. Is it a pre-set meal, do you get an app, entree, dessert like the DDP, do you get food totaling the value of what you pay? Thanks to anyone who can help :)

How do I book the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package?

Reservations for the Candlelight Processional dinners can be made as of July 2, 2007. Call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) to make reservations.

Do I still need an Advance Dining Reservation?

YES! When you call to order your dinner package tickets, you will be asked to select a restaurant and time.

Be sure to allow sufficient time to dine and get to the back of World Showcase. I recall having a 5:30 p.m. priority seating at Le Cellier for the 8:15 p.m. show. For whatever reason, we weren't seated at Le Cellier until 6:00 p.m. and at 8:05 p.m. had to run (just about) to the American Gardens Theatre to catch the show. The "reserved" seating area had already been opened up to non-package guests.

Do I have a reserved seat at the show?

Not exactly. There is a reserved section for those with the dinner package. The reserved section is front and center, behind any VIP seating. Within the reserved section, seating is on a first come, first serve basis, so if you want your choice of seats, you should arrive 30-45 minutes early. 15 minutes prior to the show beginning, available seating is opened up to folks without dinner package tickets.

Where do I enter the theater?

If you stand in World Showcase directly in front of the America Gardens Theatre (facing the theatre), the line to the left side is for persons WITH Candlelight Dinner Tickets. The line to the right side is for first-come available seating. Be sure to check upon arrival so you are in the correct line!
Is Sign Language Interpretation Available?

Is it worth doing?

If you enjoy the Christmas holidays, I highly recommend the show. I have seen the show the last three years. Last year I purchased the dinner package. The four of us felt it was worth the price; we had a great dinner at Le Cellier.

Maybe we'll bump into you guys down there.

Thank you Linda! I had read that on the other site too, but it didn't say anything about the meal 'rules.' I found another thread that said you get 1 app, 1 entree, 1 dessert, and 1 non-alcoholic drink per person, but it was from August of 2006 and I wasn't sure if that information was still accurate. Thanks for your help :)
