I called Mythos last week for Thanksgiving Reservations. The person answering the phone put me on hold while he asked a supervisor if he could take the reservation. The supervisor said he could not at this time as they were not sure they would be open for business. I then made a reservation at the Sunset Grill @ HRH. I was told I must leave a credit card # with them, however I could cancel at no charge. The Sunset Grill is serving a very nice Thanksgiving Day Buffet. Today I called 1888uescape and was put thru to reservations, a very nice women gave me a ressie for Mythos for Thanksgiving Day, but said she has no info as to what will be served. We are staying @ HRH, do you think I should play it safe and keep the reservation for the Sunset Grill? I just wish I could get confirmed info for Mythos.

Mythos is my most favorite place to eat but i have to agree that the reservation system they use (if they even have a system) does tend to leave an element of doubt in your mind. I have found this to be the case on ressies made in the morning for that very day. I would leave the sunset in place if possible and then when you get to HRH have the concierge pound on MYTHOS a bit for you so you can make up your mind between the two :)

Mythos happened to be my first choice. Secondcook had mentioned that last year Mythos had feast of the gods, the menu was traditional Thanksgiving. We'll be arriving Thanksgiving morning, checking into HRH and then heading straight for dinner. With the Sunset Grill holding a credit card #, I need to make a choice before arrival. I really wanted dinner to be special, first time I'm not doing the cooking;) .

You might post a PAGING ZEUSOFMYTHOS thread and ask him why the reservation system seems to run like an old rambler. :smooth:

I don't know what we'll be doing this year for Thanksgiving, but I can tell you what we did last year. In addition to our normal menu, we had a thanksgivng dinner. For 27 bucks (same price as the feasting of the gods), you had your chocie of squash soup or ceasar salad, turkey dinner w/ awesome roast turkey, sweet potato mash, homemade stuffing (made from our tuscan loaf bread we serve w/ every meal) and seasonal veg, and choice of banana gooey cake or pumpkin cheesecake.

Like I said, I'm not sure exactly what we are doing this year, but I can't see it being too different. I'm a cook, so I don't have much knowledge of our ressie system, but I imagine the reason for the problems is because we are in uncertain times where restaraunts are being closed and reopened constantly. Nothing is for certain, though mythos has avoided the axe so far. My best advice is to wait until 3 weeks before thanksgiving and call again.

Thanks so much for all the advice.:) Mythos sounds just wonderful, I hope the reservation I have stays intact. For now I'll just have to hold onto both reservations. I'll phone Mythos again Nov.1.
