Thanksgiving 2021 Insane flight pricing

I believe that is correct. Refundable is an entirely different fare class.
Bummer that they're not more clear because they're not charging change fees now, so all the flights are really flexible, anyway. I'm leaning towards going with this because I have a $100 voucher for each of us that will bring the price down a bit more, to make what I'm paying out of pocket quite reasonable for a first class flight during Thanksgiving week, especially since Jet Blue will probably be almost as expensive on that coveted return day, factoring in the even more space seats we like & checked bags. Still thinking it over, though...

Anyone else seeing crazy pricing for this time of year?

I just can't see how $5000 for a family of 5 to fly RT in coach (with a stop each way) from SFO to MCO is something AA thinks people will pay. The schedule has been out for over a month now and no seats are being purchased, for obvious reasons. I wonder how long they will hold onto this pipe dream pricing? Especially when competitors offer non-stops for 35% less.

Our credits from the canceled 2020 trip are on AA, otherwise we'd book the United flights. Unused credits can't be the reason though since United has customers with credits too.

It's just really weird.

Is your trip during a school holiday? AA knows that families will pay to go to Orlando during school holidays.

It is and I'm OK with a normal holiday time increase in price. My WDW hotel had higher prices too. But AAs pricing makes no sense. They know what the other airlines are charging for the same route. It's also very obvious that nobody is buying seats on these flights and they are buying seats on the other airlines.
