Thanksgiving 2009

I booked a couple of days before and after the Thanksgiving weekend at BCV using points. I want to pay cash for the 27th and 28th (friday & saturday) but MS is telling me there are no 1 BR available for cash. I've called several times to check to see if these rooms have opened up, to no avail. Was wondering if anyone else has been able to book this weekend for the discounted cash DVC rate at BCV. Not sure if they were available and the inventory is now gone or they just haven't offered them yet. BTW, they did have 2 BR available for $820/night!!! Yowza!!!

Although it wasn't BCV, I did try to book a resort on MC this morning and was told there was no availability. However, the second CM I spoke with gave me some real encouragement, and hopefully it will help you too (yes, second CM-I was so shocked I hung up and then called back). He said that they may not have determined MC availability, and so that's why it shows no availability. So he recommended I call back weekly as things are probably going to change (we hope). BTW, the first CM was very surprised there was no MC availability at the resort I was trying for. I've gotten MC for Thanksgiving there (HHI) at a couple months out, so nothing at 11 months was a real surprise.

Same here. I am looking for a CRO for 11/27 at SSR. When I booked my ressie with MS using my points last week for the entire week, the CM told me that there was no inventory for 11/27 on CRO. But, she also told me to keep checking back weekly, as well.

I am hoping that opens up, either discounted or not at this point. Otherwise, we will have to come home on Friday instead of Saturday.

Member Cash may depend upon whether or not the rooms will be needed for points. That's a pretty busy time of the year.

Plus with what Jim Lewis said at the Member meeting in early Dec about allocating those points used for Disney vacations outside of DVC, it makes me think there might not be as many cash nights available through CRO during that time frame.
