Hi!
We are planning a pre/Thanksgiving visit! I'm getting excited as we justed worked out our itinerary and made a few ADR's. We will be celebrating my DD's fifth birthday which is on Thanksgiving (she was also born on Thanksgiving Day so this is extra special). We also have DH and my 12 year old DS. We took DS the same time period in 2002 and it worked out so well we want to do it again, although I have heard the crowds are worse now.
Here is our itinerary--I feel really good about it but feel free to offer ideas for improvements!
Nov. 21--Friday, get DS early from school. He will miss two days of school--mon and tues of Thanksgiving week--but unless there are major projects or concerts or something like that, we will just deal with it. Drive halfway, Savannah-ish
Nov. 22--Saturday, hopefully arrive mid afternoon, check into our two bedroom suite at Residence Inn LBV, maybe play in the pool, then head to AKL to explore and have dinner at Boma's
Nov. 23--Sunday, EPCOT. We all want to do Soarin and explore the country shops. We may skip the seas section as we are doing Seaworld and Discovery Cove this week too. We will have our birthday celebration dinner at Storybook Princess Dining in the evening but I'm not sure we will stay late enough for fireworks.
Nov. 24--Monday, Seaworld. DH plans to check out the free beer and hopes they have Stella Artois now that there has been a buyout!! We hope to have an earlyish day and catch Downtown Disney on the way back for dinner/shopping, then relax at the pool for the evening.
Nov. 25--Tuesday, MK. We are having lunch at the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian for our afternoon break. We plan to stay for the parade and fireworks. Any good exit strategies/viewing tips?
Nov. 26--Wed, Discovery Cove. Hoping for good weather and relaxing times!!
Thanksgiving!! Birthday!!!!--Animal Kingdom. We will probably just eat at Flame Tree BBQ and try to get out before too late. We will have DD wear her It's my Birthday button. I am hoping to do two things--one, get dinner stuff from Boston Market or some such for Thanksgiving in our Room, and two, have the room decorated to surprise DD!! Nothing too elaborate, just a few little balloons, cards, cake, ribbon, PRESENTS. I'll either see if housekeeping will do it for a nice tip or I'll have them hold the stuff behind the desk and do it when we return.
Friday--check out and drive to Tampa to visit brother. Maybe stop on way to pick oranges, then head out toward home. Does anyone know a way to head to the Carolinas from Tampa without backtracking? That would be too depressing!!
Looking forward to sharing ideas/news/etc!
Elizabeth
