Thanksgiving 2007!!!

The weather is actually going to be a shock to us as it is 91 degrees here in CA right now!!! I will be glad when we get out of the freezing weather of Port Canaveral!!!;)

I do have a question - when and where are we meeting when we first get on the boat????? I need to make sure I get my mini-navigator.

Frank:

If you need another design printed... I can bring it for you... Just let me know.

See you guys at the PORT... SAFE TRAVEL to all..

wendy

Oh - I forgot to mention that my wife just finished the Fish Extender last night - came out pretty cool. I will try and post a picture later.

Frank:

I think Linda will have the mini navigators in the Terminal... The official meet is on deck 10 at 4:00 for the sail away party.

If I don't get a copy of the mini navigator... I am sunk... I have not kept very good notes. Several people have fallen off the boards.

A few comments....75 and sunny in Florida is still pretty warm, and we will be heading south to the subtropics, so i suggest maybe one sweatshirt or windbreaker, but that is probably all that will be needed....

5infam - I think we are also at the Country Inn/suites...however I strongly recommend you reconsider and get to the port at 10 when it opens...sitting around talking to those on this board i think you will find vastly preferable to the lonnnngggg line you will be standing in to check in if you show up at 11 as advertised....

To those leaving soon...have a safe trip and we will see you on Saturday morning, although i am sure we will post again ourselves before then.

I guess we will be one of the last ones to leave the house on Saturday morning so if anybody has forgotten something let me know. And if you are driving through Daytona Beach wave. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE TRIP AND WILL GET TO SEE YOU SOON. lYNN

Thanks Wendy for letting me know about the mini-navigator. I guess I will look for the sea of green and head towards it to get my information.

A few questions for you Chuck...

1. I will have a rental which I will take back to Avis the morning of the cruise. I was planning on dropping off the family at the port at 11:00, then taking the car back, then taking the shuttle from Avis to the Port - is this not the best plan??? I hear there is a shuttle from CI&S, is that what you are doing?

2. I have sat in a cruise terminal in Long beach before (not fun at all) and figured that 11:00 was a good early time as I hear they don't let you on the ship until 12:30 or 1:00. Other than socializing, is there places to sit or things to keep the kids entertained while we are waiting?? Getting to meet everyone is enough fun for me and will help pass the time quickly, I am just worried about the kids - any thoughts???

This is not only our first Disney Cruise, but also our first cruise with the kids so any info is appreciated.:thumbsup2

OK - I just got all my docs together, printed my boarding passes, mapped out my route to the airport...we're getting closer to leaving:banana: Now I just need to start washing and packing.

Is anyone else wearing their Lime Green while they pack???!!! I think this is a sickness:rotfl:  :rotfl2:

Here is a legit question for you experienced cruisers...when in Grand Cayman and Cozumel - is it safe to use your Credit Cards, or do you only bring cash?? Any additional fees for using credit cards outside of the US?

We are spending Friday night in Ormaond Beach so we will be waving.:cheer2: Erin

Frank:

We have used credit cards in both places and it was fine... We do usually call the CC company and let them know we are traveling out of the US. We have never had a problem. Just be sure and bring CASH for taxis the (T-Shirts and little items) that you will end up buying.

I'm not Chuck, but I will try to answer your questions. We park at the port, so I am not sure about the shuttle. I have read that the CI&S shuttle is not the most reliable. So, you may want to stick to your plan and drop off the family and then return the car.

There are a lot of neat things in the terminal to keep your kids occupied---characters come out for pictures, there is a miniature version of the ship to look at, there are cartoons playing. We have been early each year and I (so far) have never heard our DS complain about being bored!! :thumbsup2

I want to wish everyone a safe trip!! Tonight is our packing adventure, tomorrow is a full day of work and school and then we drive to the Port!! :thumbsup2

Frank,
It's cooler here by the coast in San Diego (81 today) - but it was a bit hotter a few weeks ago <grin>. See you on the other coast, SoCal!
