Thanksgiving 2007!!!

For Key West I bought tickets for the Trolley so we can get on and off if we need to (Disney's excursion does not allow you to get on and off). That is all we have planned except for finding the best Key Lime Pie (any suggestions) - and some Rum Cake.

For Cayman we have rented a private boat for the day for just the 5 of us. If the weather is bad I am going to hate myself because it was not cheap to do, but we wanted to see some things that the regular tours don't do (we get to customize the day).

On Cozumel we are going to do a beach day on our own at Paradise Beach http://paradise-beach-cozumel.com/location.php Hopefully this will be fun.

For Castaway - my DW and DS16 are doing wave runners and then we will hang at the beach.

Anyone have any other suggestions to add to this that are "Do Not Miss" kind of things???

My original thought was things not to miss in port - but since this is our first time, I am open to any suggestions about on board as well. We newbies rely on the vets for all the good ideas and suggestions.

Best key lime pie in KW has to be at the Blond Giraffe. I just had it last month and I am looking very forward to it soon.:thumbsup2

Did you guys decide where we are having the DIS meet?:confused3

OK call us boring, but we're likely gonna go to Margaritaville for a bit of lunch in Key West and then walk to the "Life is Good" t-shirt shop and also go to the Truman Little White House (gotta go...Harry's from MO). We spent a week in Key West over the 4th of July 2006 and we didn't get to the Truman Little White House.

Cayman, we've booked a convertible and we're driving to Rum Point...we were there 2 years ago and LOVED it!

Cozumel...we've been there quite a few times so we're planning just to hit our favorite t-shirt shop (need gifts for the nieces and nephews) and then spend the rest of the day on the Boat.

As for Cataway Cay...no clue!

By the way....anyone with "don't miss" items on the Boat, please let us newbies know what they are...it's not that I'm afraid I'm gonna miss anything....it's just that I don't know what I don't know.

LK4 we are also doing the dolphin encounter at Cozumel.

Did you reserve it through DCL or by yourself? We reserved it on our own so we could do the Dolphin Swim Adventure. I think our time is at 1 pm. :)

I did the Art of the Theme ship tour in January on the Wonder, and I really enjoyed it. We are also looking forward to doing the Mickey 200 vegetable race! Logan is in Boy Scouts now, so this is the closest we can get to the Pinewood Derby. :rotfl:

Awesome! It seems UPS came through for many of you before the weekend. Let's all do the Doc Happy Dance. :dance3: Man, I leave the boards for 12 hours and what, maybe 50 new posts. I think we'll have no problem reaching 2500! :surfweb:

Speaking of hangers mentioned earlier back, do we really need extra hangers since we are taking more hanging type clothing for dinner. You know, we usually fight over dwarer space not closet space when we're on vacaion.

I want to do the Galley Tour. Has anyone done that before?

In Key West, isn't there some kind of Key lime pie on a stick? What is this?Just a slice on a stick ? :) I love anything with lime. And who actually has the best margaritas in the Keys?

We did the galley tour and it was great. You would not believe the quantity of certain items that they store on board. Not to spoil it but I had never seen that much expensive caviar in one place( it would have made a few months mortgage payment on the house) We are going to do it again this trip.

I have been lurking here for a month:surfweb: but just registered. My amazing in-laws are taking our family on our first cruise. (For us, not them, although even they are new to Disney.) I doubt I will have the time to do the fish extenders but I am planning on making signs for our door. There are 11 of us in 5 cabins. My husband, me, and our 3 kids are in 2071/2073. My bil/sil/neice and nephew are just down the hall, and my in-laws are all the way aft. We are very excited! We took our kids and three grandparents to WDW for a week last November and never dreamed we would be going on a cruise a year later. Hopefully our kids will cross paths in the kids club with other DIS kids. We have a 6 year old, 3 year old twins, plus neice 7 and nephew 8. (DO people post their kids names?) Anyway, hope this is a "good" intro.:thumbsup2

Welcome aboard! I'll add you to the "who's cruising" list and post it later!

No we went ahead and booked with DCL, just because last month when I was there in Cozumel it rained buckets and if you didn't book it through Royal Caribbean you wouldn't get a refund (so lets just say our friends were out about $300). So being cautious I went a head and booked through DCL. It would have been cheaper if we would have booked it on our own. Our excursion starts at 10am. We are just doing the Encounter due to Ryan only being 7 at the time of cruising. I would really liked to do the Royal Swim, but that will have to wait for another time.

Welcome aboard!:wave2:

Are you scheduled for early or late dining?

I think you're going to LOVE your first cruise, (mainly because it's Disney.) Our family's first cruise was on the Magic five years ago, and we've been hooked ever since. Other cruise lines just don't compare.

Hi Momof1+2...welcome! Glad to see that you're not a "lurker" anymore. Wish I had in-laws like yours! A bunch of us are newbies to Disney Cruises...but we are fortunate to be guided by others who are...shall we say...slightly addicted. My poor husband (we've been calling him Goofy...which you'll see why by my signature line) doesn't know that there is no cure to this (ahem) horrible affliction! Fortunately he is already a Disney-addict and now, I fear I will turn him into a DCL addict! :cool1:

Anyway, we are glad to have you and there are a lot of kids. I don't think any of us have formally posted our children's names, but we are planning to meet the 1st day on Deck 10 (I think...sorry, but I don't have my notes with me)...you'll be able to find us...just look for about 50 lime green t-shirts!

Karen

DaytonaMom,

Your order included an "XS"....I need to clarify ASAP...does this mean you need a Youth Xtra Small (which is a 2T/3T) or an adult XS? If it is an adult XS, I can't get it...I could either get a Youth XL or an Adult Small.

Thanks!

Karen

For key lime pie..we agree w/the prior answer..the blond giraffe...key lime pie dipped in chocolate...for the newbies...just relax and go w/the flow...try to do it all and drive yourself into the ground...just remember, disneyplans more than any of us can do in a day.

Chuck:cool1:

Hi Karen
Nikki is 11 and wears an xs in stores like Hollister or like a 12 in Limited Too. I don't know how to translate into the Tee Shirt size maybe you can help me guess. Thanks Lynn
