Thanksgiving 2007!!!

We think...emhasis on "think"....that it is the 8pm slot...should be APL.

No tux here, but suit and gown worn....most people have suit for men, but if Blue blazer, tie is almost a must.

I've done both cocktail and full-length formals for formal night. As of now, I'll be wearing a full-length (love to have formal photos for Christmas cards.) Rob also wears a tux (he even has a Mickey Mouse vest:mickeyjum which I bought on ebay a few years ago.:lmao: ) That's just us though. I can understand people wanting to be comfortable too.:)

I have a sedate Disney tie...but that is b/c I forgot to pack any ties back in 2004 and had to buy one on the boat...and it was the only extra long they had...but it's nice...I have a history of forgetting something essential on occasion...last year for skiing, I brought all the gear except my poles.

Chuck, A big thanks for coordinating the dinner reservations. We're going to have so much fun. :thanks:
You know the picture with all the turkey gang taken in the atrium(?), was that formal night?
Melinda

I think the picture was from semi-formal night (thanksgiving night).

Speaking of forgetting something essential on one of our cruises I forgot to pack underwear. Try finding underwear in a cruise port. If you can find it you would not believe what is printed on them let alone how expensive they are.

Rob

One time a friend of mine left all of their formal wear hanging in the closet.:sad2: They had packed everything alright; just forgot to grab their garment bag before leaving for their cruise.

24 days to go!

Again, thanks Chuck for coordinating dinner. That will be wonderful. Thanks everyone for their replies about dinner dress. My guys will be wearing their navy jackets...and of course ties! Actually DS looks forward to cruising because of dressing for dinner. Goofy, on the other hand, drags his heels about dressing up (i.e. putting on a tie). Me, I feel like I dress up everyday for work and I'm just not the cocktail-dress type, so a nice "church" dress will do it.

Wow...24 days..... I guess I need to start figuring out what to pack...especially since I'm out on business travel the early part of November!

Karen

i figured we would all pack a few nice outfits for the dinners and a formal outfit as well, i was thinking my boys could wear suits. they always look so nice wearing them. i looked into renting the tux but it seems to be a bit much if they can wear there suits.. ill just have them bring a few shirts as the 2 suits

OK GUYS IM SO EXCITED I HAD TO SHARE THIS I WAS GONNA WAIT BUT I CANT HA HA. the other day i found a wed sight from fruit roll ups ( its a fruit snack ) any way they personalize them i was sooooooooooooo thrilled i had them out on them the turkey gang, and a few other things i was soooooo thrilled i thought that was one of the coolest things ha ha im sure im more excited then some of the kids well either way they will be getting them in there fish extenders lol i told dh and he just began to shake his head back and forth lol i think he thinks i have lost it lol he's one of those hes not excited till its happening

Hey there - I am back. I am so sorry I didn't check in after my last post on Monday morning, I didn't realize I could still get in on the shirts. I thought the time had past, so my wife was going to order some shirts for us through disney shopping and get them personalized, as we have done this in the past for holiday disney trips. I will check to see if she has done that yet and will PM you back if she hasn't ordered (although I think she did). Anyway, we did not have a fire in our hills, but a few miles away. The smoke and ash is ugly and my swimming pool like likes a mud pit. I have a lot of cleaning ahead of me. The worst part about the fire was trying to help out my colleagues who are in San Diego. All of our San Diego offices have been closed (they should reopen hopefully today) and many of the folks that work there have been evacuated. I manage several people down there so I have been having to help coordinate things - what a mess. Anyway, I have a lot of post reading to catch up on - it has been busy around here.

Disney Cruise Line Announces
Onboard Airline Check-in Service

CELEBRATION, Fla. -- Disney Cruise Line strives to offer guests a hassle-free vacation experience by providing extra services, such as Disney's Magical Express, that help eliminate some of the stresses of family travel. And beginning this fall, select guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line will find their vacation experience has been made even easier with the introduction of Onboard Airline Check-In. This new service will allow qualified guests to check-in for their post-cruise flights while on board the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder, eliminating the need to do so at Orlando International Airport.

Guests participating in Onboard Airline Check-In will enjoy the ease and convenience of not having to collect their luggage upon debarkation--checked luggage will be transported directly from the ship to the guest's flight. While on their cruise, guests' boarding passes will be delivered to their staterooms the day prior to disembarkation. Upon the ship's return to Port Canaveral, participating guests can proceed directly to Customs and then to Orlando International Airport where they bypass check-in and continue straight to airport security and on to their assigned departure gate.

In order to take advantage of this service, guests will need to meet certain requirements and be booked on a domestic flight on one of the seven participating air carriers: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, or United Airlines/Ted. Eligible guests will be able to enroll for Onboard Airline Check-in by completing pre-registration information received at Orlando International Airport or one of the Disney Cruise Line Hospitality Desks at the Walt Disney World Resort and turning it in during check-in at Port Canaveral.

This information was posted on another thread. I have not seen this on any other documents... I am trying to look into it.

Any update on this Wendy?? I asked my travel agent and she said that we had to be signed up for Disney Transportation to the airport to use this service; but we are renting a car so she said we didn't qualify. However, I never saw that requirement listed, so I am really not 100% sure if we can do this or not - I am assuming not at this point. Let us know if you find out anything.

I am calling Disney to check on this. We are signed up for the Magical Express, but our Airline USAirways is not a participant so we might be out of luck anyway, expect for the luggage which they will transport.

I will keep you posted... You should be able to have Disney handle your luggage for a fee.

Glad your family is safe

5infam - I'm glad to hear that your family is ok!

The personalized fruit roll ups sound great! :thumbsup2

Working on some details this morning... Found that all of the decorations will be up for our Cruise... I could not remember if they were up in 2005.
