Thanksgiving 2007!!!

This whole "mohito" thing makes me want to tell ya how it started.......on the 04 Turkeyday sailing myself and the neighbor were walking past the internet cafe (after our all you can drink catamaran in Cozumel......5cj was napping:rotfl2: ) and Tom decided he wanted a martini.....I ordered a...yes lite.....the bar tender said "I'll tell you what, I'll make you a drink and if you don't like it don't pay for it". Yes, a Mojito.....I gave him my KTTW card and he says 'aren't you Jessicas Dad?" So how do the bartender know my 14 (at that time) y/o DD? I asked....he said 'Iremember her from last year ordering all those smoothies for the intrernet cafe last yer and this......ahhhhhhh chip off the old block! LOL

I have no fear of the pass ratings, season records or any of that. I have one simple rule when it comes to gambling - go OPPOSITE of what everyone else is betting on!!! If everyone won and was right all the time, there would be no Las Vegas (Pyramids, Paris, Light and Water shows on the strip - you get the idea). So since the Colts started at -71/2 to -7, and now are -61/2; that means the money is going on the Bears - so i feel better already!!!

I can tell you that the first Mojito I ever had was about 2 and half years ago when I was in Miami Beach for the first time. It was the number 1 item on my "things to do in South Beach". As soon as I hit the hotel, I ordered one up for me and one for my DW - we loved it and have been hooked ever since:thumbsup2 I will tell you though that it is tough finding good places that make them:confused3

Frank- You are missing something important- the Gator Factor.

Peyton has never won a game starting against a UF quarterback! Never! You think he will beat the Gator mojo this year? This is the year of the Gator baby.

I have to admit though, your logic is kind of convincing.

My Mojito story: Never got one on the DCL. I don't know how I missed it-but I did. It's the main reason that I am cruising again. I tried one this summer at a beach bar where we hang out in the summer. VERY nice on a hot summer day at a beach bar. I am going to mix up some for the Superbowl. I might be late for work Monday, and someone will need to tell me who won. :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

HMMMM, first Mojito, eh?

It was the 2005 Thanksgiving sailing with Lampy. Kelli and I were meeting Ron and Kim for dinner at Palo. Kim met us there, but Ron was not with her.....
15 minutes later, he is still not there yet.....

Needless to say, Kim was saying mean things under her breath.

Then in blows Ron Lamparsky with two huge Mojitos for he and I! He had to go to his favorite bartender to get them made up "special". And they were very good!

I then had a few when "Christmas shopping" at the Galleria in Houston. (At the Fox Sports Bar)

Much better in a warm climate, I think...

So, I guess I can say that I was once again corrupted by Lampy!:guilty:

Ahhhhyes corrupted by Lampy......you do pretty well yourself! He Willie, remember that bartender for 03 and 04 was tending in Diversions in 05? He and Jessica STILL e-mail each other! He sent me his "mix", still not as godd as he makes them but then again, everything tastes better in the carribean! Yes, he even sent me a few "special orders" to dinner! Ya gotta love those bar tenders!

Lampy, looks like there is a Cruise CRitic thread going for your April 1st Conquest sailing

Peyton never beat the Gators when he played for UT. Never. He was "all that" when he was in college, but he never beat the Gators! I remember being at one of the UF/UT games in Gainesville. ESPN was broadcasting college game day from there. Peyton got spanked. As ususal. Peyton could never beat the Gators.

It still ain't going to happen!

Go Bears!

Those are some dang fine legs in that photo!

I've seen better legs on a piano! (Insert "rim shot" sound effect here).

Happy Groundhog's Day everyone.

Have a great Superbowl:

Lampy:

Here's the deal on Peyton vs. the Gators:

September 16, 1995: #8 Tennessee Volunteers at #4 Florida Gators – Gators win 62-37

September 21, 1996: #4 Florida Gators at #2 Tennessee Volunteers – Gators win 35-29

September 20, 1997: #4 Tennessee Volunteers at #2 Florida Gators – Gators win 33-20

Any questions?

FYI- Indy is by far the sentimental favorite in the Tampa Bay area because of Tony Dungy's connections here. No body is believing in Da Bears. I really like Tony Dungy, too, but I think the Bears can do it. Sorry Peyton.

Here's an old joke that has been recycled this week:

This morning a Gary kindergarten teacher explains to her class that she is
an Indianapolis Colts fan. She asks her students to raise their hands
if they are Colts fans, too. Not really knowing what a Colts fan was, but
wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands flew into the air.

There is, however, one exception. Susie has not gone
along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be
different. "Because I'm not a Colts fan" she reports.

"Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?"

"I'm a Chicago Bears fan," boasts the little girl.

The teacher asks Susie why she is a Bears fan. "Well, my Dad and Mom are
Bears fans, so I'm a Bears fan, too" she responds.

"That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mom
was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Susie smiles and says, "Then I'd be a Colts fan."

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hi everyone!!! Priscilla-that number thing is very neat!! I know we've been quiet lately, but everything has been very hectic!! Chuck is enjoying being his own boss, but it's going to take a while to build up a practice. I hope that all goes well!!

I am very excited about the Superbowl this year...I am originially from Chicago and am a huge Bears fan!!! The last time that the Bears were in the Superbowl I was a sophomore in college. It seems like another lifetime!! We have friends and family in town for the game, but the closest that we are getting is the NFL experience being held at the stadium tomorrow.

The weather has been beautiful and sunny here all week and for the game it's supposed to be rainy and windy!! Oh well!!!

TGIF!!
