Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Just checking in for the Turkey Day cruise!! Hope this year go fast!!
And yes, I'am from Texas too!!!

A little :offtopic: here (wish he had a smiley face though,) but I thought some of you would enjoy this 'Yankee or Dixie' quiz. (I scored 82% Dixie..it stated I must have had Confederate ancestors! )

Willie and Andrew, I'm really eager to see how you two score, (after reading your comments about 'Joisey' and Georgia.')

I am 55% Dixie, which makes sense since I am from Southern California;)

Welcome aboard- tell us about your family and where in this great state you are from. We are just north of Dallas in Highland Village, We are the Andersons Rob, Priscilla AKA Mickeyhugger And dd Rachel12.

70 percent Dixie. But hey, I lived for a long time in New Orleans, which is more like Philly than a southern city.

Looks like the Key West Boat Races are in early November this year.

No double dip?

No double dip???? That would stink. One of the ways I rationalized paying so much more for a Thanksgiving week cruise was the fact that we got to visit Castaway Cay twice. I love Key West, but I love CC a lot more.

Willie- have you ever been to KW? I think you would like it. Duval St. is a laid back and smaller version of Bourbon St. You can buy a beer (or something stronger) from lots of different store fronts, and walk up and down the street. There are lots of little bars with live entertainment. Lots of street performers. Lots of interesting folks. It is a fun place! So it wouldn't be the end of the world if there is no DD- but CC is still a lot nicer!

OMG!

My results:

43% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.
I am so ashamed! It is true that I live in NJ until I graduated High School. I moved to Fla. right after I graduated, and have lived here ever since- going on 28 years. Mrs. TCD is a like a fourth generation Floridian, and her parents are what we call Florida Crackers (her dad's family moved to Fla. from Georgia when he was a young'in).

I guess this confirms that Florida isn't really in the South.

Mrs. TCD's grandmother used to tell me that I was alright for a yankee.

I guess she knew what she was talking about.

We actually booked our 3 day through DVC. They made us a deal we couldn't refuse. They did offer some great deals, probably because we were all being thrown around from the 20 foot waves. The Eastern was magical. I think there was only one evening that I was in bed before 2. St. Marteen was beautiful and St Thomas was breath taking. We swam with turtles, stingrays and sharks. It was the best cruise yet. We are planning on booking another cruise when we are on board in July for November 29 of 08. The "Tiara Bob & the Dreamboats Cruise". Karoke night will never be the same without this group of guys. Trey participated and was a hit singing, the group sang "You've lost that Lovin Feeling" and "Sweet home alabama". We made some life long friends, just like we did on the Turkey Cruise. Even if we don't get to go with you guys in 08, we will be there waiving when you get off the boat. Provided you leave some booze for us.

I think that that sailing must be the 20ft wave sailing....ours in 03 was the same thing 23-28 footers ALL day Thursday......by then I was acclimated with "staggering" thru the halls so it didn't effect me, but Kim:headache:

Welcome Captain-

Another Texan, huh?

Now we will have three gentlemen wearing their "good" overalls on formal night. :rotfl2: Don't forget to pack a shirt. :lmao:

Well, welcome anyway.

OK, TCD, you have gone and insulted the fine people of The Great Nation of Texas once again. Need I remind you that we are now civilized and no longer wear our cowboy hats to dinner. We even ride to the port in a limo.

A Texas Limo- Here is a pic of one-

LOL- Wiliie-

Well, I remember very clearly the argument that you had in Palo because you were not wearing a shirt with your "good" overalls.

I am pretty sure I remember you wearing your cowboy hat to dinner. I know for sure that you were wearing chaps and had a bandana tied smartly around your neck. I remember it well, because it was the night that Lampy had his sailor costume on, and if I am not mistaken Doogie had on his Indian Head-dress, and John (5J) had on the hard hat.

That was the night Mrs. TCD told me to stay off of the Dis Boards.

We are from Granbury, SW of Fort Worth, This is our second cruise! We sailed on the western Magic last March.

Family is:
Jim (me)
Jane(wife)
Tyler(DS13)
Alex(DS9)

Welcome Jim and family........thats what we need.....more Texans!:rotfl2:

My Family just booked this cruise after finding out what our school schedules will be for next year. For the first time, our school district is giving us the entire week off for Thanksgiving. :cool1:

Our travel party consists of me, DH, DS (almost 8 at time of cruise), DD (4 at time of cruise) and my mom. This is our second Disney cruise. Our first was on the West Coast in July 2005. We are very excited about spending Thanksgiving on the Magic!

Welcome prov3v56!! What part of CA are you from?? I have 3 kids and they will be DD5, DS8(he will be 8 in Oct.) and DS16. Our school did the same thing starting last year, so we are hoping that they will keep the same schedule, otherwise, my kids will have to miss a few days.

We are about 20 minutes from Disneyland and have been annual pass holders for years. My DS will turn 8 in December so I am not sure if he will stay in the club with his sister or go up to the lab. (I think he can do this because his birthday is within a month of our sailing). Last time we cruised, our DD was not quite 2 so she was unable to go in the clubs. She is very excited for this cruise and so are her parents! :cool1:

We were at Disneyland yesterday - enjoyed Space Mountain with the lights and music, it was kinda cool. I have the same thing going on club wise as my DD will be 5 and my DS will have just been 8 for only a few weeks. At first, I want them to stay together and maybe later in the week my DS can check out the Lab. I am really not sure how the club part works so I need to do some more research on that.

Welcome Jannee and family!

So, I was looking at your user name and trying to figure out what that is all about, when it dawned on me that it is a Bible passage!

(Don't tell Willie or Lampy but I go to church and read the Bible- its a Mrs. TCD thing-I still need a lot of work)

So, I try to look it up, and there is no verse 56 in Proverbs chapter 3. So, you are referring to verses 5 and 6, right? Here is something weird, my two younger DD's (who will be 12 by cruise time) go to a Christian school. Proverbs 3:5-6 is their memory verse this week! They were both just saying it to me yesterday. Wow!

BTW, it is a great verse.

Anyway, welcome to the best cruise of 2007!

Hey! Did everyone notice that I changed my avatar? No more Donald Duck!

Everyone needs a custom avatar! Lampy- a Miller Lite can. Willie-a cowboy hat (or maybe a Texans logo). Priscilla- a picture of you hugging Mickey? The new SoCal people- a photo of a wine spritzer or a bean sprout sandwich?

Go on to the User CP section and select custom avatar.

You can now reduce regular photos to avatar size on photobucket, so you should be able to do it. That is what I did.
