Thanks Lampy for once again starting a live thread!! We just posted on it. We miss all of you and look forward to the Turkey reunion in 2007!!!!

Watching Chuck posts on the "live from" thread just officially makes me know we are sailing no matter what!!!! ONLY 2 DISER FAMILIES AT THE SAILAWAY? Looks like DCL needs to give a little something for next years Turkeyday sailing.....Chuck even got an upgrade.....I KNOW all cat 6's were sold out last year....I tried to upgrade! Looks like with the loss of liquor sales and the not sold out ship Disney may just want us for a cheeper rate! LOL

At work on Monday before Thanksgiving for the first time since 2003. Lampy is right. This stinks.

I have a dilemma.

We are visiting my sister in Miss. this week. They are the ones we are supposed to do WDW with next Thanksgiving. I need to convince them to do the Magic instead. It will be my sister and her husband(early 50's) Their two sons and wives(mid 20's) and each has one son, (ages 2 and 4).

(I am also booked on the Magic. Which is what I would rather do.)

I need some suggestions to get them to spend the extra money to cruise instead of doing the parks. The trip is supposed to be for the two little ones to see WDW. And I don't think my BIL would get on a ship.
We are supposed to use DVC points for the WDW stay.

Help me sell the cruise over the parks.

and we just posted again...we may be albe to add to the list of turkeys for next year w/some folks from this year..we shall see...but the boat is expecting another "sea of green" next year and i'd hate to disappoint them...

Willie, only you know how easy or difficult it will be to convince your family.

If the young kids aren't very much into rides (probably won't be at that age?) the cruise for all in your family will probably be more relaxing, as they won't be having to wait for boats and monorails to get back to the hotel rooms. Not to mention the lines for rides. (I've never been Thanksgiving though, so I don't know about the crowds then.) There seems to be more 'character' interaction on the cruise than at the parks (if the little ones enjoy that. :goofy: :mickeyjum :donald: ) The best of all, the fun for the adults too! (I know WDW is fun for all ages, but there's more 'freedom' at night, especially with the kids clubs so mom and dad can go to Rockin Bar D. (Of course, you've probably thought of all of this.) Maybe you could order for them the free DCL DVD and surprise them with it at Christmas. :) Pirate night ALONE puts the cruise above the parks (we all know that, and it's a challenge to convince others who haven't sailed DCL.) pirate:

Here's to hoping you can persuade them to sail! :thumbsup2 (I'll say my prayers!)

Willie-

They are offering "specials" now on booking dcl w/ dvc points. If your family members were going to use points for the stay at wdw, they may be able to use those points for the Magic instead. They would need to call dvc to see what is offered for this particular week. Danelle is no longer on the Magic and the new rebooking person does not have the information.

Thanks for the tips, guys and gals. I forgot about the DCL video. I have one around here somewhere, plus the video I shot of Pirate night in 2004.

I gotta make it happen. I like cruisin too much more than the parks.....
I mentioned it to Hayley tonite and she like both places. But she asked what kind of excursions would there be for the the 3 and 5 year olds?
I think they would love hanging at the beach, like Great Uncle Will. :teeth:

Excursion for 3-5 y/os? Kim seems to think you and I Willie would be perfect for that......

:wave2: Hi All,
Wish we were there.
Happy Thanksgiving To All

I know I'm a year early but Thanksgiving wishes to all anyway...

OUCH! Talk about rubbing salt in the wound..

I just returned from the grocery store (2nd time today, another forgotten item for Thanksgiving dinner,) to hear Rob warning me, 'you won't believe what's on (TV) right now.' Wouldn't you know it..the Travel Channel's 'Disney Cruise Line' episode. :sad1: I had a major setback. More important than the prime rib and lobster dinner..I miss all of the DISboard gang! Ah, to be up on deck 9 watching the fireworks show! And Pirate night! pirate:

That said, I do hope everyone here is having a wonderful Thanksgiving, despite not being onboard the Magic. Willie, sending some pixie dust your way pixiedust: in hopes you'll be able to convince your sister and BIL and their family to join the Turkey Day gang next year. (We all know how they'd have a great time, but trying to convince them is another thing. I've been working on my own family, it 's not easy.)

We wish all of you were on the Magic this year, but hope you are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

We will be heading to Lumiere's in a little while--Lobster, Turkey, Venison and Fish are all on the menu, but no prime rib this year. Maybe next year in honor of the dis reunion!!
