Thanksgiving 2007!!!

This is our first Disney Cruise. What do you need us to do?

We are fist time Disney Cruisers but we are DVC (see my picture). Can I ask what the signifigance of being DVC is? Do we get anything special from DCL? We booked paying cash so I don't think they even know we are DVC - I am stressing now ...too many questions in my head and I have no idea what to do with myself for the next 13 days til we leave CA.

I am also bummed because I am the Asst. Manager on my DS8's Baseball Team. We won the championship in the Spring, and now we have only lost 1 game in Winterball, and I just found out today that they changed the championship tournament and the final game will be on the 17th - the day we sail away. If we win, we will still get the trophy, but I wanted my DS to experience that winning feeling again (assuming we win it all again)

We are First Time cruisers and NOT DVC members.

The only reason I am trying to get an estimate, because those that have sailed before or are DVC members will not need one part of the thing that I am doing, but those that haven't I need to pack something extra. So, I'm just trying to get a rough idea so I only have to pack the extra "thing" for those that won't have the one part that they will need.

So sorry to ask (I know it's been asked before, but) could we see a list of those (and room numbers) participating in the fish extenders? I'm going to shop for the 'surprises' today and need an estimate as to how much to buy. (I already know what we're giving. )

Thank you for this - but I was trying to buy enough to make sure that each person in the stateroom had something, as my gift is a multiple and is really made for kids. Any way we can get a people count to go along with each stateroom for those of us buying for number of people and not number of rooms? I thought someone had started this at one time or another, no?

I went to OTC and bought some stuff - which we will hand out on Pirate Night (any hints on what the items may be???). We will not personalize it because I am lazy and have 700 other cruise things on my list right now, but if you get something on pirate day, know it came from the 5 of us.

Home from work, just made dinner.

Now my DD has told me that she was looking at the mini-navigator and I spelled her best friend's name wrong. I guess it is Mekenna, Not McKenna.

Oh well....another call to the travel agent tomorrow. I bet they are tired of hearing from me.

BTW....when Robert (DH) decided he couldn't go on the trip, I didn't have any problem with DCL changing to Mekenna's name. Well, not the case with Delta. They said that I would have to cancel the FF award (first class, no less which I booked long ago) and then rebook again. I said I didn't want to do that. They said they didn't change tickets, because that was their policy. The problem was, for that same first class ticket now it would have cost me 90,000 miles instead of 45,000.

So, I wrote a nice little letter to Delta Customer Service explaining that I had experienced "Disney Magic" and that Disney always went above and beyond to take care of their guests. Then I explained how my husband was unable to go and now DD best friend was going with her, but I didn't think it was fair and reasonable for Delta to cancel the first ticket, have me rebook it (now at a cost of $75.00 plus the 90,000 miles) for the exact same seat I had gotten for my husband.

Well.....finally got an email from them yesterday. They changed the ticket into MeKenna's name at no charge and said they had made a "one time exception to their policy".

Okay, one more thing to do. Call Delta. On second thought, I'm not going to call them. They won't notice the difference between a c and an e. I'll tell them that customer service messed up if they question it. In fact, I'll be checking in online for all of us and printing our boarding passes so I'll just check the luggage with sky cap and be done with it! If they question it at security, they will only be using her school ID and we can tell them they spelled the name wrong!

Are we doing a Dis Meet for the Pirate Party.. I know that many of us will together at Dinner... I wanted to do an "Pirate" invite to all the kids and deliver that morning...

You were darn lucky, customer service is hard to find these days.

Any suggestions what to bring? This is our first experience with the FE's. Should we bring items to place in the FE everyday? I bought some items today but it sounds like I may be way off with the count. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

We have never used FE's either, but Oriental Trading company is the way to go - Lisa bought a bunch of stuff, but it is not expensive. Most of it comes in 36 and 48 counts anyway.

I think Chuck and Lisa mentioned on an earlier post that the Passport Book, Passports Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and its Port of Call was a good book. I wan't to agree with them... I have now finished the book and checked out the website... It was very worthwhile..... Lots of good ideas.

I bought the book back in January and am constantly reading it and still finding info I missed before. And the ebook for cruises you can get from their site has great tips. Melinda
