Thanks to all of you who put up w/my 2 months of questions
***Especially "Elaine", "Lisas", and "Granny"***

I decided to buy through DVC directly and save the hassle. They had my VWL pts later that same day.

Now I must deal w/some confusion on baking my new 05 pts...but that is for another post.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the 1st time member feel when I go "home".

Thank you.

Welcome to the club and to the VWL home.

Not sure what your question will be on the banking but I can quess. You should have only received your 2005 points if you have a UY after June and up to Dec. Regardless of the UY, you are beyond the 6 month period for banking "all" of your 2005 points.

This means that DVC should have given you a one time exemption on the banking rules to allow you to bank all of your 2005 points..if you want to. If you choose not to bank or if DVC did not give you the exemption, then your 2005 points will expire in 2006. If your UY is Dec, then the points that you cannot bank would expire on 12/1/06. If you bought say 150 points, and since you are now in the 50% banking period, then(without the exemption) 75 points cannot be banked and will expire on 12/1/06, while with the exemption you can now bank all 150 points for use in 2007 or at least after 12/1/06.

If you have no plans to use your points in 2006 and DVC did not give you the exemption, then I would call up your quide and complain. If on the other hand you are planning a WDW trip this fall and thus using your points....then ignore everything I have said !!!!!!!!!

How did you do it? Did you go to the sales center and ask for VWL? Or did they offer it to you without you inquiring?

I accepted the "buy where you want to stay" principle. I thought about resale-did the math-and for me the savings wasn't significant enough vs. the convenience.
I called DVC from home, asked for 150 at VWL, got a call back later in the day saying they had the points, bought it. I got a small push for SSR but not bad at all.

Congratulations!! And Welcome Home, neighbor!

Re: banking your '05 points, what I've gathered from the recent threads discussing this is that often your guide says "no" but MS says "No problem". So if you won't be using your '05 points, give MS a call on Monday and see what they say. MS is often very busy on Monday mornings, so you might want to call in the afternoon.

It's so great that you did not have to wait for your points. The same thing happened to me when I called to add on at VWL. I expected to be put on a waiting list and was surprised to find they had points in my Use Year available. When you've spent a long time figuring out what resort to buy, it's so nice to call and find out they have the points waiting for you (instead of the other way around)!!

WELCOME HOME!

If I add on again, VWL is first on my list.

We added on at BWV this past spring (April or May, can't remember which), Aug. UY, 05 points. My guide said there was NO PROBLEM to bank those points---it is a new policy that Disney now allows this for new contracts. I had no problem, in fact, I think I even banked them all on-line. HTH :sunny:

Congratulations and Welcome Home. :cool1: :cool1:

Enjoy and let the planning begin. :goodvibes

Would you mind passing along the phone # you called? Thinking of calling!!

Welcome Home VWL neighbor!

We just did an add on at VWL too as well as added more BWV points and are thrilled. It was love at first sight when we stayed at VWL in April, so just knew we'd end up with points there too! We also were fortunate that they had points in our UY for VWL but had only half of our BWV, so we are on a waitlist for the other half.

Just wanted to add that out Guide is awesome and recommended that we call MS at the first opportunity to get the '05 points banked. On the following Monday, we made the call and MS was very helpful and took care of it all.
