 Hello:)
Thanks to all who offered their suggestions for our stay at OKW.:) It was wonderful::yes::
We arrived in the late afternoon on the 3rd,(Tuesday) and had reserved a 2 bdrm villa for 8 of us. The CM who checked us in told us OKW was filled to capacity and that there were only 2 buildings we could choose from, they were 15 and 23. After much deliberation my sister and I decided on villa 2323, we were worried Mom (84) would not care for the stairs leading up to it, but once inside and seeing our view there was no need to worry. We had a beautiful view of the water with a fountain and we were close to the Hospitality House and to two bus stops. It worked out great! My 14 year old niece stepped inside and said, " I don't think I'll leave this place!" Than said she guessed she would like to see the rest of WDW too!;)
Everyone in our 8 family group loved it, and would definitely stay there again!
Mom stated that Olivia's was her favorite restaurant, the CM's were kind, friendly and courteous. Special thanks to the bell service who carried our luggage up and down the two flights of stairs. Their cheerfulness was contagaious.
The only complaint I would have would be the bus service, which probably could not be helped, but if planning to eat at a park or another resort I would suggest giving oneself at least an hour to get there.
We took the boat ride to Downtown Disney our first evening there and we loved it!
I would stay there again in a heartbeat, and would have probably been content to just stay at the resort without going to any other place while I was there, but you know I got to go on the rides too!;)
Thanks again for allowing us to visit your home. It truely is a "Home Away from Home Resort" and even though we are non members we occassionally heard "Welcome Home!" which made our stay all the more enjoyable.
We left on the 13th and headed back north, able to avoid Hurricane Charley!
Hope all are safe and sound at WDW!
:wave2:

Thanks for the report. You chose well- bldg 23 is great (nothing wrong with 15 either, but 23 is little better located IMHO).

Glad you missed Charley!

I'm glad you and your family enjoyed the OKW DVC. It sounds like you all had a great time!

Good that you were able to avoid "Charley". Thank you for posting!

What a small world!! We were in 2330 from the 4th to 13th. I bet we passed each other on the stairs or in the parking lot a few times. Those two flights of stairs were great exercise and got us ready for the fourth floor here at BWV. Glad to hear that you made it out ahead of Charley.

Thanks for the trip report! Glad you had a good time. I agree that the extra flight of stairs is well rewarded with the view.

OKW is our first home resort and we just love it. It took us from 1994(when we joined ) to 2000 before we tried another DVC at WDW(not including our many HHI trips). We still think its wonderful and have enjoyed all the areas we have stayed on the property. Heading to BCV for xmas week-new year's eve. Chose it for the Epcot location and the easier transportation during the very busy time(from experience of the last 2 years). I have to plan an OKW trip soon after! You do miss the spaciousness of OKW when you are BCV or BWV.

Thanks for the great report. I'm glad you enjoyed OKW. I'd guess that your remark had more to do with the time it takes the bus to get anywhere (which has always been true), as opposed to the wait time between busses (vastly improved from years ago). Thanks for checking in!

It is our home resort (x2!!!) and we have always loved it there for the spacious units, relaxed feel, and beautiful views. There is really ot a "bad" view in OKW...at least not as far as I can tell!

Evenm the stairs aren't that bad...they have the nice big landings to stop and "rest"(things have gone downhill since I have turned 40;) ) and the views are wonderful from some of the higher floor units.

Regard elevators. There are 3 buildings in the 60's, all with elevators. They are close to the HH.
