ALthough my dad (who is my next door neighbor) has a snowblower, it is from the 1970s and isn't' all that great. We can't afford a snowblower ourselves so it was shovel, shovel, shovel yesterday. A neighbor across the street had his brand new blower out yesterday and did the entrance to our driveway and part of our sidewalk for us (we had already shoveled most of it). He then did the sidewalks for all the houses on the street (live on a small block). We were the only ones out besides him to say thank you face to face, but I would also like to get him and his family a little thank you gift (although I think some of the lazy bums on our block who NEVER go out to shovel really owe him BIG time). What would you recommend? I don't know the family that well. I was thinking a bottle of wine (non alcoholic)? I'm not a baker, otherwise I'd make a cake or cookies or something. Any other ideas?
