We just got home from the 2010 SSMember Cruise. DVC NEVER failed to impress us! The great gifts each night in the stateroom were awesome! The opportunity to "take over the ship" with other families that are such Disney enthusiasts as DH and I made it such an incredible vacation! This was our BEST vacation ever! :thumbsup2

Wow! I'm glad you had such a great time!:goodvibes That's the way I felt about the MC we went on in '05, and it's a great feeling!

Bobbi:yay:

We just got the notice about the Member Cruise in September 2011 and were thinking maybe just me and DH. So it was definitely worth it? Do they somehow discount the price of the cruise or anything. Really anxious to get all the details of these types of cruise. Thanks

The DVC website has the point chart for the 2011 member's cruise. On the point side they seem to be charging about 60% more points for the cruise compare to the 4 night cruises the week before and after the DVC cruise.

thanks Dave. Having a hard time logging in on the DVC site. Have to contact Member Services tomorrow and have it fixed. Will check it out.

Bobbi - We went on the very first member cruise in 2003, and while it was fun, it wasn't as much fun as this one was....I don't know if it was just because we didn't know about the DISboards at that time and didn't get the opportunity to join a cruise meet thread, but we definitely made some great new friends!!

Goofystitchfan - They don't discount the price, but for this one the tips were included in the price. The theme of this one was Inspirations and there were some really inspirational Disney people on the cruise with us. I'll post some info later when I get it all unpacked. You get lots of really nice items from DVC. I'll probably post some pictures tomorrow. The DVC cruises are DEFINITELY worth it, that's why they sell out in ONE DAY! :thumbsup2

If you have the cash to pay for the member cruise, you get a MUCH better deal. We stayed in a verandah room for $2400 and it would have been over 300 points if we had used the points.

Would rather pay cash then use points for sure. Thanks for all the info and can't wait to see the pictures!

Very interested in hearing more about the cruise. It will be a few years before we could go ona cruise at that time of year but someday I'd like to join fellow DVC members to take over the ship!

Me too, can't wait to hear about the MC. I would love to go on one of these cruises, maybe in a couple of years.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Sadly it will be at least 3 more years before we can take a members cruise:sad2:. I guess I will have to experience it through my dis friends til then:banana:

I concur it was a fabulous cruise. This was DW and my first MC and first cruise ever. What fun. I'll definitely be an the phone at 8 am on Oct.2. Hopefully it will be easier for more members to attend. It will be on the Dream next year that can accomodate 4000 passengers while the Wonder this year could only accomodate 2500.
Thanks to everyone on the Dis boards also for all the great tips that made our trip flawless. I brought an extra empty suitcase like was suggested but had so many unexpected gifts we had to mail a package home anyway (lol).
