Thanks for the feedback! Long story short, when I started frequenting the DIS boards, CSR was given a bad rap by many because of this and that (too big, convention center, too hot, 10% gratutity). When I came back from my first visit in '98, I couldn't believe what guests were talking about so I started my site to help others make their own decision on the resort with some pics and info on CSR to help. WDW doesn't do a good job with their resort websites. My CSR hero when I first came on the boards was Howard. He had a similar CSR site and I used to point everyone towards his site. Not sure whatever happened to Howard. He became a mod, then his CSR site went away and then Howard stopped posting.
As far as room decor, the colors in the ranchos and cabanas are pretty similar now since the rehab. The cabana rooms are still the most wanted but are mostly waterview rooms and will cost more unless you get lucky with an upgrade. Cabana 9a is smoking optional so becareful that you don;t end up with a smoking room if it matters to you. Make you you request a non-smoking room.
cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge
cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.
cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above.
Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.
ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.
The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.
