I want to purchase TGV tickets for myself and my two daughters for our trip that is in less than a month.....but when I go through the website and click on "Other Countries" I am directed to a website that does not allow me to pick our seats ...

I found a VERY good tutorial from an English Disney site but the directions for that are for the European side of the TGV website.

I am also told that if I purchase online for pickup at the airport there may be a problem because I am paying with an American card?

Has anyone from the USA prepurchased the TGV tickets and have any advice as to if I am doing something wrong?

Any advice would be helpful as I have planned the TGV all along but if unable to purchase tickets I may need to find a different mode of transfer from CDG.

Thanks.

I have.....it takes me all the way to my cart (delivery is $18 and someone needs to be home to sign for it) but there is no option for choosing seats?

The complete cost would be $180.....I believe I can get a private shuttle for that amount.

I guess since it is only 10 minutes we can stand.....

We've always bought our tickets in the station at CdG on arrival. There's machines (with an English option) if you don't want to go into the ticket office, though the staff do generally speak English.

I was just thinking about this.... Does anyone know if it is Horribly more expensive to wait to purchase? We are not travelling during rush hours if that helps.

We travelled at off-peak times earlier this month and it was <€50 each way for 2 adults & 3 children (ages 8, 5 & 2).

I was wondering this as well - have the same question. :confused3 What is the best way for Americans to buy TGV tickets?

I am not taking the TGV upon arrival as I will be flying into Orly so decided to just buy my ticket when I arrive for the trip back to CDG. My thought was the complication of trying to order online wasn't worth the difference in price of just buying the ticket there. I was thinking if I ever arrived at CDG I'd just buy the ticket when I got there - but I know buying tickets for a family would be more expensive and differences in price might add up quickly. I checked out a few different websites. It might be easier for Americans to purchase from a UK website on this one.(??) And I have also heard that American credit cards won't work in the machines to pick up tickets- so you'd have to wait at the manned counter to pick up the tickets at CDG.

Hope someone will have some more information!

Good luck!:goodvibes
