Texas to open 100%

Have faith and believe in people. We don't have to be micromanaged to do the right thing. But remember our needs aren't one size fits all.

Well, I would, but people haven't really demonstrated that they can do it on their own, so....

I haven’t been to a restaurant in a year, we don’t leave the house, aren’t allowed to travel outside our county, have to have a mask on to take out the garbage or face a fine if I’m caught or reported, haven’t been inside any sort of shop in a year and only travel to the grocery store once a week which is also my office day. Our numbers are still high and they keep reporting here even after the vaccine these measures will stick around. All the while businesses are closing and people are losing everything. Three weeks, lol, I wish.

That is pretty extreme. I don't understand why those kinds of measures would stick around after the vaccine reaches critical saturation of the population. I can see that being very frustrating.

To be clear, I would support somehwere like California loosening restrictions but still keeping masks and such, but I do not think removing a mask requirement is a good idea for anywhere just yet.

In fairness we are in Italy and we’re the worst hit from early on.Mask mandates have been around for about a year and we are still under these measures. Just saying no, we are not close to getting past this and at some point life must resume for those willing.

If they don’t I can do what I need to do to avoid these people and/or situations. It’s normal everyday life for us.

IMO, those kinds of measures weren't needed when there WASN'T a vaccine. If you can be 10'+ away from someone outside, there is no reason to mask. This includes (but not limited to) passing someone on a track/hike, going to mailbox, and attending a sporting event.

I just want to say that I hope that all states, provinces, countries, and continents can take the most direct path to whatever our future normal will be, without casualties continuing to mount. I count myself lucky every day to not have been one so far.

Please, do what you need to do to protect yourselves and those around you to the best of your ability.

OMG where is that? I'm in NY and we never had it that bad. Have to wear a mask to take out your garbage, cannot go outside your county? That is crazy

This caused quite a stir yesterday. At this point we are all left to make our own decisions on how to proceed with our day to day lives.

I'm debating on whether I should go to Cancun or to French Laundry to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. Either place I would go I'm sure I would bump into some of our fearless leaders.

At least around where I live, I don’t think much is going to change. People that don’t want to wear one already don’t. Those who do, will continue to do so. Most major corporations will continue their requirements. The small business owners will be the ones grappling with their own decision to require masks or limit capacity.

In other news, crashes are down 80% at blind intersections where we put stop signs in. So we're removing all the stop signs. We don't need them any more.

Well then why buckle a seatbelt either. If you can avoid crashing or hard braking, there's no reason to seatbelt. After all, I've only ever needed it once in my entire lifetime.
The reality is you wear a mask for the same reason you wear a seatbelt. You never know before hand exactly when the time will come when you crash and it's so minor an inconvenience as to be trivial. Similarly, you never know when that time will come that you cannot maintain your 10 feet. And wearing a mask is such a minor inconvenience as to be trivial.
